  1. could be a built in oil cooler, generally used for automatics
  2. you want a series 2 ptu, the hks or aem ign amp work in conjunction with the ptu, not instead of
  3. Pretty sure he's on a working holiday in Aus, not sure when he's back. Always the little things that take forever to fix, don't worry about it just keep plugging away :)
  4. don't think that's true, just that some exhaust are better than others :) the real area is the downpipe though, some big gains available there
  5. Pete, I have the 4.5" quad oval B&B on mine, with resonaters in the test pipes and centre section they are still pretty loud as you'll remember :) re specialtyZ, they are good guys to talk to and normally responsive
  6. something is wrong, way too hot and the mpg is silly mine running with 850cc injectors and twin pumps is just as economical as a normal zed when pootling around, though single figures when driving on track :)
  7. sorry, I'm still using the AEM to run the car! Have set things moving with my tuner but won't be able to take it off before I go
  8. here you go http://www.300zx-twinturbo.com/cgi-bin/manual.cgi?list=el&dir=&config=&refresh=&direction=forward&scale=0&cycle=off&slide=68&design=default&total=133
  9. search is your friend :) on the TT they are on the downpipe from the turbo, not sure on the NA. They will need replacing and if original will most likely be seized in place so may be a battle getting them off.
  10. yes, I know where you are, unfortunately, I'm diagonally opposite you in Kingston :) Sure we can come to an arrangement and I can help you get it going, will need to wait till I'm back from holiday though at the end of the month.
  11. maybe, get yourself subscribed and we can discuss over PM, it's only £20. where in london are you based anyway, we should meet up?
  12. it's a series 1, don't know anyone running the series 2 yet. for the setup, there are loads of base maps around to get you going and it's not to hard to do, though you'll still need it mapped for your setup before pushing it. I got my mapper to do setup and map in one go and it cost around 300 quid plus another 120 for dyno hire
  13. about £1200 inc cas, wideband and the other sensors you need
  14. I can recommend SilverBullit and he's nice and close to you. Sound like your PTU is on the way out to be honest
  15. Standalone is very good and does give you a load of options over the standard ecu, I'm currently running an AEM without issue though some( me included) have problems with CAS units that the AEM doesn't like. Swapped for another and it's been fine since. I'm actually considering a different stand alone at the moment, only because my mapper raves about it, though not currently available for the 300 so let me know if you fancy a used AEM :) will include my current CAS and wideband setup too.
  16. ideally you want the dual UEGO setup so you can have 2 wideband sensors. madmax is referring to the ait sensor which you want near the throttle body
  17. Vibrations: Are the spacers fully tightened and, if needed, are the spigot rings correctly fitted Brakes: Are you using the same disc size as the old D2 setup?
  18. any more details on the turbo and gearbox?
  19. For fun I compared to my setup :) Bare in mind I have done a lot of work stretching and flaring the arches front and rear. Skinny tires would help but would defeat the point of going for a big build if you can't put it down. the fronts would stick out 10mm less than mine the rears would stick out 14mm more than mine
  20. I'd question the offsets too, the dish doesn't look big enough to match what they're quoting. If the offsets are correct you are going to mess up your bodywork!
  21. any more of those helmets going :) :) for the oil cooler, do not run it via the catch tank. Any oil in the catch tank needs to be disposed of as it will be contaminated by steam etc.
  22. they're talking rubbish, what you want to search for is resonators, they can be added to your decats and/or mid section
  23. some photos since you asked nicely :) the 9.5s have been sat in the garage, not really made an effort to sell so put them on ebay this week to see if they generate any interest. There's a discount for any forum members that fancy them! Need to make space for the c/f doors  and 3 wheeling in the first session after setting the suspension too stiff!
