  1. You're dead right about the £510 without launch control Nick, but I think it's £540 with. Still £20 less than the Supra forum group buy though :) Cheers Konrad

LOTR - The Two Towers goes on nicely..... if you don't mind having to change disc THREE times during the film ! Doesn't spoil the viewing pleasure at all

Seem to recall mine cost about £300, but then it did need a little modification to fit the car as it was designed for the 2 seater ! Remember if you're going for an off the boot spoiler you'll need either a tailgate skin or a perspex cover lens (Luke sells both at the Zcentre quite reasonably! - see http://www.zcentre.co.uk spoiler section read me). Personally I reckon the perspex looks better and that way it looks like 99 spec and you get an extra brake light ! Hopefully you won't find any rust under there but if so that'll add to the cost. Konrad PS seen those mid level spoilers on a couple of Zs and they do look mighty fine ! :)
  4. I've got a jap spec one, ie without the headlight washers. Any use ?
  5. Maybe we could have a whip round to help subsidise his valiant cause ? :D
  6. If there's a box that looks like a Gatso next to it then it's a Truvelo which uses the magnetic strips under the road to measure your speed (again no emissions for the detectors to pick up). They also have mobile versions of these in Nottingham where they just run three rubber strips across the road with a tripod mounted camera. If there's just two rubber strips then you're safe as it's just a traffic survey. You name it - we've got it here !
  7. The static digital cameras simply digitise a picture of your reg plate as you go past the first one, and then check how long it takes you to reach the second one, same priciple as VASCAR in police cars except that it doesn't require PC plod to manually press the buttons when you pass set points. The only good news is if you don't notice the first camera until it's too late you can stop for a minute to bring your average speed down, and you'll be ok ! ;) How the mobile digital cameras work, God only knows
  8. Nottingham gestapo use digital cameras from their vans now apparently, so perhaps yours are the same ? Not been past one with my Bel 990 to be sure ! It certainly doesn't get triggered by the static digital cameras; because they don't actually emit anything ! Doesn't work against on Truvelos either, with the metal strips in the road - I really need to get one or the other of those GPS systems to go with the Bel ! :(
  9. :D yeah ! Hmm - just thinking about that girl in the Marilyn Manson video of Tainted Love - hmmmm......
  10. I've got to disagree there - it's one of the best horror films I've seen in a while ! Most of them these days just rely on things jumping out at you, so to speak - this one just builds up the creepy atmosphere. And hey - gothic girls scare the sh!t out of me at the best of times :D
  11. Can't help there but one good trick I have seen is for the supplier to send the invoice to you seperately and put an invoice on the package with a much lower price, lowering the import extortion. ;) Courtesy don't do that though ! :(
  12. Sorry Nick - just beat you to it ! ;)
  13. Once had just that problem - got it resolved by having the tyre removed and refitted ! They said that such large tyres sometimes don't sit properly on the rim ! Seemed a load of tosh to me but it did stop the leak !

Best tongue in cheek horror I've seen ! If you want something really creepy though just watch 'The Ring' ! Certainly makes you girlfriend snuggle up ! :D
  15. Cool - cheers Vinz ! Waiting for Luke to replace my auto box with a nice manwell one at the moment - my Zs immobile until then. How long have you had yours ?
  16. Just caught him ! Good call Andy !
  17. What mail's that Vinz ? Until I browsed the forum again I didn't even know I had a reply on the thread ! PS. Are you Luke's mate ? He's often mentioned you but our paths have never yet crossed !
  18. Bargain at the price ! Cheers Andy ! :)
  19. Smithy, I'm also shopping for an uprated clutch as my Z's about to be converted from auto to manwell. Does the £345 include t'VAT ? Cheers Konrad
  20. Anyone else not getting notification of activity on threads you've subscribed to ? Since last week's forum problems I no longer receive any notifications whatever, even from new topics. Have I done summat daft with my profile ?
  21. Makes you wonder what the next fad will be though - after all, 6 or 7 years ago every other car on the road seemed to be a Cosworth. Bit of luck and it'll be the 350Z - might stabilise the value of ours slightly ? ;)
  22. Unfortunately, wiring a household plug is about the limit of my electrical skills so I'm going to have to leave the fitting to the experts even on my Z ! :( Thanks for the advice though - I'll pass it on ! :)
  23. That's the Nottingham gestapo for you ! If it's non-endorsable though.......
  24. Ouch - tough break mate ! If it turns out to be as bad as you think you could always go for a replacement anegine and gearbox from Japan. It's always a risk going for a second hand engine but maybe better the risk of a future problem than a guaranteed bill for thousands ! Try Mark on 01908 210352 (MIlton Keynes I think!). He's a contact of Bob Ford at Arriva Peterboro and he imports everything from wheels to cars from Japan and keeps engines etc in stock, I'm told.
  25. My mates WRX is the only car ever to shame me on the road. :( Off the mark they are phenomenal but once you're both rolling you should be able to hold your own at the very least ! Imports (WRXs, STIs etc) are a lot quicker than uk Scoobys so you can't go by the performance figures ! 22Bs are insane (GTR league!)
