Insurance & valuation
Hi there, my insurance is up for renewal The value of my Z for the past 4 years has been 6k I know our prices have risen but at what value should I be thinking of? I know it difficult not seeing the car so here is a bit about it, Imported by me in March 2014 a 91 TT manual pearl white. Past 2 years it has had a manual conversion with new clutch & lightened flywheel + what has been listed below (Exedy PRO-Kit complete clutch kit & bearing) Full 120k cambelt kit change + 6 new coil packs & plugs All new fuel lines done New grooved discs & pads all round (March 2019) Oil change every year regardless of mileage ( 3k in last 2 years) Body work solid/ interior good slight wear on drivers seat bolster Stainless steel exhaust All MOT's & history of all work carried out & parts purchased All purchase invoices & import documents ( I am the only owner in UK) That should bring the value to 6.5K ?

What did you do to your zed today?
Seems a few of us took the Zeds out over the weekend. I did a run to Henlow & back yesterday. Surprised at how well the traffic flowed, no hold ups only the 50 mph restriction on M20 for 17 miles!

Hi there, I have just purchased a “Drive It Day” plaque from driveitday.co.uk A fund raising day by the Federation of British Historic Vehicle Clubs for the NSPCCs Childline Taking place on 24 April 2022 I know my Z is no way an historical vehicle but I thought it was for a great cause. i picked the information from this weeks Classic Car Weekly.

Rear 300ZX panel
That is exactly what is needed, thank you. just ordered. it looks like the old one has over heated as the casing has melted! I think I’ll put a fuse on it.

Rear 300ZX panel
My rear 300ZX panel has stopped lighting up. I think the resistor has failed? Can someone shed a light on what is required? No pun intended ? Arthur

What did you do to your zed today?
I forgot to mention that I did an oil change last weekend. Last oil change was back in 2020 but I have only done 2K. My Z was on/off the road best part of 9 months between 2019- Jan 2022. What with 3rd auto-box fail then manual conversion. All to do now are; rear fuel pipes, rear power steering pipe, both rear track rods (purchased) Dont we just love them ?

Killed my gearbox.......
Hi Richard sorry to hear about the auto-box fail. if ur happy with the auto & as u say can get a specialist rebuild then that appears to be a good option for u. Any second hand auto could fail u, as I had 3 fail me in two years! That costly experience made me choose a manual change. The manual does change the driving experience. Good luck with getting ur Z back on the road.

A zed costs $471 a year to maintain ha ha
I wish! So let me take a look at mine!, March 2020 (covid time) New discs & pads all round. Full cam belt change. Auto to manual conversion + full clutch & light flywheel. All brake lines changed. Two oil changes. 6 new coil packs & spark plugs. Not sure what regular maintenance this covers ? July 2019 till today miles covered 3K if dry today then add a few more miles ? that’s life with a Z hay ho!

I know I have an advert up…….
Hi there, I found my Z through TC-V. com traders in Japan place there cars on this site, you find ur car, then negotiate a price though TC-V.com all negotiations go through them & it costs u about £50 maybe more now to use their service. they make sure the car your buying is genuine & the trader is legitimate. once agreed the individual trader books the car on a ship to the uk port u requested.. all the car documents are then posted to you from the trader. Ship arrives in ur uk port, now u get a company to get it off the ship for importing. this is not difficult as there are companies do this daily. So yes import tax + vat has to be paid then has to be MOT’d with engine number if I remember right. all can be done by yourself, it is daunting but as it takes 3 months for ur car to hit the UK ,u have time. Traders in Japan are very trusted in their information pm me if u need any more information

I just think 15K for what he is looking for is optimistic. Even shocked at the way prices have risen.

New MOT rules
I cannot remember if I changed them over as it was a couple of years. tbh Andrew I was being lazy as it is only a 15 minute job to take out the hid’s Having said that I think it was a bit petty as I have used the same garage for the MOT since importing the Z
