  16. Hi. Markyb300 If you really want to stay with an auto then get it fully reconditioned which will cost 2k max. or change to a manual conversion which may cost 3k i had 4 autos in 4 years & l have gone manual & everything on the Zed is getting harder to find. good luck whatever way you go art

  21. Thank Andrew, it’s been nearly 9 months but I trust Fabian from Jap motors in Hythe. he has experience in zeds, skylines, gto’s & lots of other jap motors. the write ups I’ve seen are good but there were things needed that was not mentioned in the auto/manual write ups that I remember? I have taken the Zed out twice for a run, not counting collecting it to home which was 8 Miles. I am very surprised at the ease of the clutch pressure, I’m also surprised that I have to depress the pedal almost to the floor. Maybe I’m just not used to driving a manual Z? I moved the seat nearer to the pedals for this reason. The gear changes are smooth, almost effortless to be honest! This surprised me! So on Saturday I took the Z to Ashford a round trip of 30 miles. Yesterday Sunday I took the Zed to a car wash (jet) then for a spin to Dover & back maybe 20 miles. The brakes work & work well but again the brake pedal seems lighter & travels that bit further! So new clutch, clutch plate, bearing, light flywheel, manual gearbox & labour, plus other bits like coil packs, spark plugs, a couple of special parts not available in the uk,oil & new battery, gear knob & gaiter by Hide & Seat & they looked brand new! all in all your looking at a conservative price of £3k sorry to bore you still? whilst waiting for the check valve, the car went 50 meters down the industrial estate to panel & paint & had the front sills done where the jacking areas had been completely mangled ( not by me!) another £400. The underneath is solid but the front bumper needs a re spray. Before my last (3rd) auto box failure I did ask for a quote to several patches that need attention & got a quote at £900 Minus the bumper! i have new drilled & grooved discs with new pads front, rears yet to be fitted. They where fitted last year 2019 the mileage then was 142,517 the mileage now stands at 143,141 that is 624 miles since 2July 2019! My zed had a recording if 119,478 km = 74,240 miles

I have never checked these facts before! Art
