  6. I used to breed koi carp a while back, but get rid of the pond a few years ago. I built a pond for my dad in 2006 so he could take over form where I left off. UV is purely for visability, if you want it clear you usually need a UV. The filter is the place where you change the amonia form the fish into nitrites, then to nitrates. It also takes the solid mass out of the water. If you have a foamy surface then a turbo skimmer whihc removes excess protien form the water is what you need. In the case of alge, especially blanket weed, there's not much help. You can however change the magnetic charges in the water by fitting a device whihc is supposed to help with the removal of blanket week and some alge, however you will still need to get as much out manually as you can. Most of it will die and settle at the bottom producing even more amonia and also deteriating the O2 level of the water. So unless you have a bottom drain and air stones in the pond then it's a manual scoop or the bottom or you can use a pond vac.
  7. Harry get's my vote, purely on the politeness and personal response to every message someone writes to him. :D
  8. Both looks so clean. I think the tints looked very professionally done. The 99 spec's look great as well though. Did you swap the center panel as well as I think that the white logo would look much better with the 99 spec than the red.
  9. Out of that list I only knew two of them were mods, Duffer and Stellaz. Couldn't decide between the two but since Stellaz nominated me last month I voted for him :)
  10. You really want Car Mad to win don't you Isaac :) Offer people free beer to vote for him :)
  11. If you had a bent rod before you took the car in you would have noticed through driving it. My guess is they bent it trying to get a jack under the car or the car fell off the jack and bent it, they then straightened it to cover up by putting new marks on it thereby covering up the fresh mark caused when they bent it. Just a theory....
  12. Power Go maybe ? or Power Producer ?
  13. James, As per convesation. I couldn't attach this via PM so put it here.
  14. Wishing you a speedy recovery Harry, I'm sure with the PS3 time will fly. One minute you feel like you just started playing, next minute your dad's telling you it's time for bed :). Enjoy and have fun. P.S. keep practicing... you can;t let your dad beat you at any more games !. Once is enough :)
  15. With regards to getting it signed off.... I don't plan to sell up for a while, even if we did move we would rent this one out as it's close to a station and very good place to commute into the city from. So lets say I do the work myself, what would happen if I didn't get it checked. Obviously I will be over cautious and make sure that there is no chance of overload. ah Darkside I notice you are just down the road in whitechapel :). Don't worry I'm not going to ask you to come check it lol. But if it's ok, I'll PM you if I get really stuck.
  16. lol nice one. 2 of the most common problems... loose hose clamps and brittle connectors. Good job on getting it resolved quickly.
  17. I'll check with him to see if that was the case.
  18. I've been promised "at the weekend" for 2 months now. Apparently the latest is that the dip stick is stuck in the engine and he has to take the sump off to find the problem. He did say he wanted to deliver it this wednesday but I told him that I would prefer a weekend rather than take a day off for what may be a no show. So in Summary, not got it back yet and although I have been a told a date, I'm not going to believe it until I see it. The bad news is that there are 3 peoples Zed's (that I know of, James being one of them) waiting for mine to be finished before theirs gets any work done on them.
  19. Before anyone tells me I need to be a qualified Corgi registered electrician etc, I know, I know but I want to do it myself. I'm looking into sorting the wiring for my new extension. At present I have a single spur cable running into the extension which I have put a plug socket on it and been using it to power the mixer etc. I also have a single spur lighting cable coming into the extension, which for a temporary use I have run to a light switch then run two lights off it. Obviously I want to make sure I'm not going to break any regulations because they are obviously put in place for a reason (i.e. health and safety etc). So, here's what I want. 6 x double plug sockets running: First double 1 x tumble dryer (thinking of having this fused switched rather than plugged) 1 x washing machine (thinking of having this fused switched rather than plugged) 3 spares, may run a PC off one of them. 1 x single plug socket 1 x plasma TV 1 x double light switch one switch running the wall lights and the other running the ceiling spots. I know that the kitchen is on a separate ring to the fuse box, however apart form the oven, dishwasher and kettle there's not a great deal of load on it, so I was hoping that if I can find a socket on the outer wall (i.e. between kitchen and extension) with two wires in it, I get into the ring that way. Then run the ring outside and incorporate each of the plug sockets into the ring without having to run any separate spurs off. What would a sparky do ? Also the lighting. I'm going to be running 3 x 40w wall lights and 12 x 9w spots. For these to work separately I would obviously need two outputs from the switch, do I need to ring these individually or can I just run them as spurs ?
  20. 1. Something old and fooked 2. Something small, yellow and fooked. 3. Somthing red, rusy and fook, maybe a coupe ;) 4. Somthing old, fooked with carpet on it's roof 5. This is a nice little car like one of the cartoons (still old but not as fooked) 6. it's one of those rocking chair cars isn't it ?
  21. Stella, Any chance you can relink the pictures in the original pages, I've never seen this thread and wanted to go through and have a look but I think all the links to the pics are broken. :(. If you can't no biggie. I remember when James was talking to me about two toning his 300, I was trying for months to put him off then he just turned up on my door with it done. Looked really good, however the only thing that I don't like it the line that it creates between the bonnet and the door. it kinda steps out there. It could be fixed by rerunning the edges in line with the window rubbers from the bonnet, but then this will also make it look a little strange as you will have a section of the wing painted rather than the pannel lines. Never could work out what would be a better option, but I do like yours and hopefully I will see it in the flesh before you decide to sell.
