Selling a Modified Z
My side skirts are also bonded to the wings. So the skirts would probably have to stay on the car. But then I also have a custom rear which was made to fit my exhausts. Since my exhausts are custom made, no one else is going to have the same exhausts as me. So therefore the rear bumper and the side skirts would probably have to stay. unless I sold the rear bumper with the exhausts.

Selling a Modified Z
As much as it hurts, you're probably right. That's less than 10% I've put into the car, Economy sucks don't it. But I guess the price of certain cars is driven by the people selling them. As long as we have people selling cheap 300zx's then the price of any 300zx is always going to be only a margin higher than a shed.

Selling a Modified Z
Now there's an Idea !. Selling the parts with a Stock + £ = modified part option. i.e. I'll sell you my modified bonnet for £50 + stock bonnet. That may work well. But then Selling all the modified bits first, then the stock parts then selling the shell would probably also work.

My Z is dead
Looking at the first and 2nd picture I would have said no way, if I hadn't seen the left exhaust. It's hard to tell from the pictures but going by the amount of exhaust exposed at the back on the passenger side, it does look like it's been pushed in a fair bit. So they declared it a write off then ? Did you get a buy back opion so you can make some money from breaking it or did they want too much to buy it back ?.

Links to gauge fitting
Yeah I remember you saying via e-mail. May be worth you giving him a call and asking what additional kit you need to buy for them. I'm sure he can get one of your down pipes or test pipes fabricated for the wideband sensor. But depending on the thread size of the other sensors it may be easier to get a sandwhich plate and fabriated sensor pipe. Danny at DTA may be able to supply you with the sandwich plate and water temp sensor adaptor, I think I may have got mine from him originally, can't remember if I'm honest, it was such a long time ago.

Selling a Modified Z
It would, but then if I had to sell because I really needed the money and the car wasn't selling then there would come a point where I would get more money for selling the parts seperately than the car as a whole. I guess I should work out in advance how much I would be able to get for the parts, then either try selling the car for the same amount or break it !.

Selling a Modified Z
It seems to be almost mission impossible these days to sell a modified Z for anywhere near what it's worth (and by that I don't mean how much you spent on it). I'm not just reffering to mine here I've had a look through the for sale sectionand any decent Z with a sensible price is just not selling. Seems like people are only buying cheaper stock ones or sheds. I'm wondering if when I do actually have to sell for real rather than putting it up for sale and not bothering if I get a buyer just yet. Would I get more money breaking it ?. The shell is rust free, it's got so many goodies on it which I'm sure would sell. I'm just thinking that it may be the easier option to break it rather than sell it. Seems like the way forward these days don't you think ?

Links to gauge fitting
Hi mate, First off do you have all the sandwich plates and adapters for the sensors. Some oil pressure guages are easier to fit with a sandwich plate that sits between the oil filter and the connector block. The water temp sensor can either be fitted into the existing hard pipe (black connector , not the yellow one ;) ). Or you can buy an adapter that will fit with silicone couplings between the rad and the top water pipes. Oil temp again can use an additional adapter or the existing one. On most gauges there are three main wires, live earth and sensor, others have a fourth which is for dimming. Live = fit to a 12+ ignition live Earth = earth to chasis or splice into current strong earth. Sensor = runs to the sensor itself Dimmer = feeds into the sidelight live, so that when you turn your lights on the dials dim slightly. All but the sensor wires you can tap into inside of the car and to make things easier you can wire the three lives, three earths and three dimmers together and then run a single wire from each into the feeds from the clock. The sensor wires will need to go through the firewall to the engine. The best place to put these through is the grommet just where the bonnet release cable runs through. You can then pick these up in the engine bay at the back drivers side. Wire coat hanger with the wires taped to it is the best way to get it through. The AFR gauge can also run from wies in the car but then you will probably need to get the wideband sensor fabricated into your down pipes or test pipes. You'll have to go to an engineering shop to get this done.

I'm affaid it doesn't look too good mate. Sorry to say, I don't think this one is recoverable. I could be wrong though.

Stepping Down
sorry to hear that mate. I hope things are not too bad. We'll meet up for a beer sometime soon.

sorry to hear that. hope it's not too bad. The oil is probably a damaged oil cooler or piping at the front, hope fully nothing major, unless you clipped over a kerb, then you could have caught the sump, much worst.

Wet MAF fix
No mate, I put the panel on there purely for cosmetics. The bonnet vent however was for air flow. I never had a wet maf problem until I got my Doolz. I guess sitting at the sides rather than the middle it catches more water. I know it's coming from above rather than the front.

Bodyshop
Mine is slightly modified to have a perfect fit for the exhaust pipes. I think the wings west rear is the best out there for a semi agressive Z. It looks pretty good with or without a spoiler. The only think I didn;t like about it was the massive square holes for the zorst which is why I got mine filled to a smaller oval.

Z with RB engine
Yup, it's Nico orginally from Trinidad. Nico300 on the US forums. He hit 609 HP at 18psi with a vaccum pipe blowing off and not much of a tune. He's now fully tuned and running 40psi but hasn't put it on the dyno again yet.

Any idea how to
4 Bolts from under the car. Unless you have upgraded tubs in which case it will be 5 bolts.

Wet MAF fix
With the daughter at her god parents this weekend. I decided to make a "wet MAF preventer". I started with a piece of carboard to get a template and then used a sheet of acrylic sheeting as it is water proof. I know it looks a little crap now but if it works I will look as using it as a template and maybe getting another one done in stainless steel with rubber edges. Here are some pics anyway.
