  1. I agree 100% with Nick here. Everyone runs different tyres, some fools even run radials. But it's up to the individual at the end of the day. Nick has listed some of the most popular ones which are know from experience. I personally run the Goodyears and have done since I bought the car. I love them to bit so I haven't bothered trying anything else. Pick one from the list above and you can't go wrong.
  2. So you have two boost gauges ?. One for each turbo ?. Where did you fit the feeds in on these to get two seperate readings ? It doesn;t matter what turbo's you have, if one of them is siezed you will never hit positive boost.
  3. Of course mate :). Everyone is welcome (well 300zx peeps anyway lol).
  4. nismo opens much later than standard or greddy.
  5. Come round to my house, we can still be friends :) I'll sort the BBQ for spring time ;)
  6. Snap, been here for 6 years as a subscribed member and also subscribed to the Z club as well. I'm flattered mate, but then going by your 2nd reason if you didn't subscribe you'd be flatterned too :)
  7. There are a few guys on here that have made up brackets when keeping standard calipers. If you do a search I'm sure you will find the info you need.
  8. Not entirely sure on that one but wanted to say. Nice tape measure. I gotta get myself one of those babies !.
  9. something like that :p
  10. Thanks mate I'll make a note of that. That team that paid up obviously had something to hide LMAO !!. No way I'd pay E500 for anything. I'm totally legal so don't have to pay to hide anything.
  11. All the best mate :duffer:
  12. Did all three Z's have stock brakes ? It would be very interesting to put together a 300zx brake test. Standard v standard with bigger discs v R34 brembo setup v 6 pot upgrade etc. Same bit of tarmac etc.
  13. I'm just interested. We have over 400 subscribed members but many who are subscribed lay dormant. I know there are many reasons that people subscribe to this forum. Ranging from the social atmosphere, technical help, for sale access etc. IF you are a subscribed member or have been before why did you subscribe ?
  14. LOL, did you ? or did yo click on the check box next to car mad :D
  15. And voted well you did
  16. Good luck Dave, would be ashame to not have you around anymore if you decided to get rid of her.
  17. To be honest if you are used to taking engines out and rebuilding them, this shouldn't be a problem. It's just a simple engine out and turbo swap, it's not like you have to strip off the heads and recondition the lifters, now that is a long job. If you have a crack at it yourself. There are various help guides on the web. Only tip I would give it gets lots of small containers and label them up so you know where you got what bolts from.
  18. Go for the one closest to the year of your car. There are some very small differences between the models but nothing that will stop you doing any work on it.
  19. Are you keeping standad calipers or upgrading those as well ?
  20. On some panels it's a bitch to get off and on others you have a foam liner under it which when you remove the tweed it disintegrates. Sometimes it's actually easier to just fit over the top of the existing tweed, this gives it a softer feel and also keeps the correct lines.
  21. I'm not taking the 300 mate, I'm taking the beema and it doesn't have turbo's :). I found the cause of the blown fuse. It was due to black jack setting off the alarm. For some reason when the alarm goes off it blows this fuse. But it only happens if the incorrect code is entered a few times. Safety feature or dodgy install. I know which one I think it is. :)
  22. Yep, I knew it wasn't you :) Would have recognised you driving :)
  23. Thanks mate, I won;t be taking a radar detector a I know in most countries even having one will get you busted even if it's not turned on. Will pick up lots of postcards. ;) Good idea, I'll get some copies mate up of all my doc's before I go. Reading up Serbia isn't a problem now, it must have passed over after the war. I'm going to try and avoid bosnia and albania but will probably head down through serbia as it's the closest country to Skopje where I'll be heading (capital of Macedonia) Nice Tip Andy, I'll make sure it's hanging in the rear for display from the side window. Done that and the majority of the countries I'll be passing through don;t like you to hve radar detectors so I'll go without. I don't intend on getting through as quick as possible, the title was more of an attention to the thread for feedback and ideas. Where I can I will stay within the speed limit.
