Has it ever had any coil packs? Not sure if the 2.0 8v is affected the same but my gf's 1.6 16v golf has had to have all its coils replaced, at least once if not more often. It throws a management light and of course runs like a bag of shit as its on 3.

Ah I need a car as well but was fancying a 540i touring, bit of poke and a huge load bay... but now ive had the wheels painting i pulled into the drive today after 1250 miles and a few days away in my astra and thought shit my car looks good!

I'm in a similar place dude... If it wasnt for the insurance Id just keep it and buy something else, problem is having just got on the property ladder i'm in the middle of trying to do it up, and I cant use the zed for it. I do have an astra van but its always full of work stuff and i cant take it to the tip as its a van.... stupid council!

I think your a brave man with a Z32 sat on a slope near that much water, especially if its on its reputable hand brake! I prefer the smooth rear to the 89 spec spoiler, you could have a 94-98 like mine!

Hi mate, to be honest we havnt had a meet for a long while but its probably about time we had a go at sorting one out. Having had my wheels painted the other day, I had a close look at the rear tyres on the car. They have worn absolutly bang on the money evenly but they are getting close to the wear markers. Now I cant be bothered to go and look but I am 95% sure they are 275/35/18 on the rears - problem is the cheapest I can find per tyre around £200 (some cheap brand), and I cant find Falken 452's in that size either at any price. But I can find 265/35/18's Falken 452's for £142 each. Will I be ok to have this slightly narrower tyre fitted? I'm aware that it will have a minimal stretch but its hardly the dangerous VW scene is it?!

check with your insurance company first as to wether they will actually cover a car thats been crashed and claimed on before. I know mine wouldnt! Just because they dont ask doesnt mean you dont have to tell them as I suspect if you didnt tell them and then needed to claim on it they would politely tell you that you were not insured. Other than that, photos of the original damage would be the best place to start. Look at the chassis legs to see how much they have had to be rebuilt/replaced/reshaped. Look at things like the lights to make sure all the plastic fixings are intact, has it been done properly with genuine parts? I saw a program a while ago about dodgy car repairs where a car had had a chassis leg repaired with filler to make it look like it was undamaged, quick blow over and you couldnt tell. Until you crashed it that is!

That'll ding dang do me! Cheers mate, I looked for ages yesterday and couldnt find much, lots of people talking about it and then the topics all ended with "i'll report back..." Either of those will do, not trying to make them look like the Bronze series as mine are the black with red rim drift series. Its just they have a curb mark and I see so many cars with the red rim on now (both a 3 series and an astra the other week with STANDARD whels repainted in black with a red rim on ) it just makes me die a little bit inside when I see mine!
