Thinking of losing the window tints. Opinions wanted.
Just to mention the 99 spec glass there, they did come with some fancy glass that was different to the earlier models, UV cut was it? It was perhaps that the tint wasn't required with the special coating on the glass.

RWD Diesels
IIRC the only oil burning Lexi is the is220d which is 175bhp at best? Hopeless lets me honest. If you compare the BMW to the Merc diesels almost always the BMW will be faster and better on juice! I wouldnt go for an E36 325tds an old engine now, not particularly powerful or that great on juice. Early E46 320d not brilliant either, 136bhp and not so reliable, a couple of years into the E46 it was replaced with a 150bhp unit which was far better. The E90 320d (318 and 316 use the same engine but detuned) started of at 163bhp and later replaced with a 177bhp version of the same engine. Obviously the more modern the higher the price, but it depends what you were looking at? Early E39 5 series 530d / E46 330d came with with the 3.0 (2.9 actually but there we go) 184bhp engine later upgraded to 204bhp, E39 had that till death in 2003. E60 5 series introduced a 218 (ish) bhp engine as did the e90 330d. Later increased to 230/35bhp but again later models = more money. Obviously the ultimate oil burner is the 335/535d 272bhp later 286bhp twin turbo 3.0 - fab!

80 quid dash modification :-)
Its not the size of the tanks that are different, its the fuel gauge is bloody awful! I can only get about 75 in mine from the light, i know there is loads left in there but I just hate driving anything on the fuel light! Makes me nervous lol.

3000gt's
Cheers for the feedback mate. As it turns out, by way of luck and circumstance he ended up not buying the black 3000gt we found and just stayed with his audi which was my original advice. Hes gone down the stage 1 mods route with that instead in the quest for more power!

Does anyone know anything about pumps?

Does anyone know anything about pumps?
I'm a fool... Right ever likely I couldnt find anything but submersible pumps... I was searching for submersible pumps. Bah pesky ebay. I think ive found a simple solution now :)
-
Does anyone know anything about pumps?
Ah not a bad idea! Yeah its just a one of thing really. Problem is I dont have a karcher...lol and I cant imagine dad would love me borrowing his for that. However its an option! Im sure a submersible pump would do it but i can imagine it making a row with half of the "inlet area" exposed lol
-
Does anyone know anything about pumps?
Basically I wanted to pump out some water which is quite shallow but in a fairly large area. Its only 0.5m deep, infact not even that but just for arguments sake. Now I have seen lots of submersible pumps which are fine but I feel that its not really deep enough to submerse the pump and so it'll have a hard time picking up the water. So what I want is a pump, that has a pipe on the inlet side that can be laid in the water for the pump to draw from rather than the pump drawing through its own backside. Can anyone recommend something or what to search for? As there are hundreds of options on ebay but they are all the type you simply chuch into a deep pool and have the oulet side in a pipe.

new astra electric handbrake is dangerous
That article is about cable based handbrakes on the corsa, signum and vectra models... I can see how it would be a problem, I was always under the impression that the electric handbrakes just didnt work when you were moving about a certain speed. But of course I suppose you need to have a suplimentry brake incase of total brake failure. Although with a dual circuit brake system thats quite unlikely! I suppose the problem is the location of the button, dads seven has an electric handbrake, but the release button is to the right of the steering wheel IIRC and so can only be reached by the driver.

van
I would recommend a vivaro/traffic/primastar assuming its big enough for what you need. I hired a MWB transit the other day and it was bloody awful. 5 Speed box, revving its tits of at motorway speeds and awful on juice. 3000rpm @ 70mph and managed 25mpg or so on a run from birmingham to glasgow. Wasnt even heavily loaded with an exhibition stand and some computers etc. Where as I had a vivaro a few years ago (obviously on the continent) and that would sit at 85mph in 6th all day every day and do 35mpg full to the roof with cable, fibre termination gear etc
