Not sure if anyone is particularly interested but a friend and I (mostly my friend if Im honest) has been doing my bathroom. Basically it was an awful seperate bathroom and loo in brown that hadnt been touched for 40 years. It needed knocking down of course: THe rest of the pictures show progress although there are some missing as they are on my friends camera.

Corner weighting
Well I asked him to sort out the ride height as after a complicated series of events, wrong parts and stupid garages the car had ended up too high at the front and too low at the back, plus it had a 15* list on the steering wheel. Low and behold after Dave had put it all right the steering wheel is cock on centre and its just looks better and drives like it always should have done. Its been a long long time since i've actually felt a real urge to go and drive the car but I have that at the minute! Annoying that its at my parents!

Corner weighting
Ah right, what did yours come in at then? Was that with a driver or not? I drove the car back to my parents this morning and it felt 100 times better even at low speeds in traffic etc. Well impressed!

How to remove an engine
Awesome! Had to facebook post that!

Corner weighting
I've just had my suspension adjusted, the car cornerweighted and tracked today to try and make it handle like it should. I've only done about 3 miles in it since it was done but wow what a difference.. Anyway the paperwork with my car now has stated an all up weight of 1353KG which seems low, could it be right?. That would have been without a driver and perhaps 1/3 tank of fuel. Its a standard (ish) TT manual slicktop. A/C has been removed + carbon canister and the weight in the boot lid (lol) No cruise, airbag, manual heating controls and only 1 electric seat. Any thoughts?

Na Manual gearbox - TT Engine
The issue iirc is that the tr flywheel is bigger so as gonzo said the bell housing requires some Modification and the starter spacing out. Quite a few converted zeds have an NA box I think.

Picture Request
Scorpian Quad? Or Dual single can?

Picture Request
Many single can shots of my first Z32... It was bad :( lol (The exhaust I mean) looked a million times better with a scorpian quad, and sounded so much better!

Power drain
Another mystery power drain, I've had a search and I have a couple of ideas now, mainly rear demister (doesnt work on mine) seem to have caused a couple of issues. Basically, I came to my car last friday to try and use it, it had been stood for 6 days and it wouldnt start due to flat battery. It tried, turned over once and then the solenoid clicked. There was no one else at my parents, I couldnt be bothered so simply went back to my house in my van. I thought it a bit odd as the car had stood for 5 or 6 weeks before this, and then started on the first turn of the key no battery issues etc. Now, I've been back to my parents tonight to jump start it but I got in the car, turned the ignition key and nothing, nada, no dash lights or anything. So busted out the meter and a mere 0.86 volts in the battery! lol No wonder it wasnt going to start. So it was getting late, pulled the battery out and popped it on charge, it took a healthy 13.6v from the charger at 4 amps so thats all OK, the battery is only 6 months old anyway. So there must be a fault on the car, dad and I did a quick check found fairly high resistance through the terminals on the meter, 75ohms or so. To be honest, electricity is not my strong point I dont really know if thats bad good awful or what. Dad didnt seem impressed by it though, and when I pressed a button and it dropped to 37 he was even less impressed. Is there any obvious usual suspects I should be looking for? I'm going to attack it tomorrow in the daylight with the meter and start pulling fuses until something happens. Has anyone any pointers?

some pc assistance required..........
What if you user a proper browser like IE? ;)

Router firmware perhaps?

some pc assistance required..........
What does it perform like if the desktop is switched of? Any different? What model of router do you have/whos your internet/router provided by? If you go into device manager, and into the properties of the wireless network card on the laptop you might find that its set at a specific wireless channel rather than to automatic. There is a chance that the channel its set to is different to the router, causing poor performance. However the other option is that if you have a wireless phone, or a neighbour has a router on the same channel etc they can cause interferance, poor performance etc. Some ideas to check anyway. on the other hand, your router could be set to a specific wireless channel which the laptop doesnt agree with. Weird that it works well elsewhere though.

May have to sell up :(
Your insurance shouldnt be to bad, typically ive found 300zx's cheap to insure. Mine is £470 FC this year with breakdown cover included. I'm 25 with 4 or 5 NCB cant remember. Shame to have to sell but if needs must, its one of those things its not worth getting into difficulty with regards to a car. If you think you might struggle it might be worth trying to get good money for it now rather than desperatly trying to sell for a knockdown price.

Speedtest.net
Piss poor but no other options in my area... Some cabling companies have been cabling the crap out of the surrounding area of late, not managed to find out what they are actually putting in but heres so hoping!

traction issues
You see officer, I had to be doing 100mph, any slower and I would have crashed! :D

traction issues
What kind of power is your car running? Have you had the suspension geometry looked at? Reason I ask is if all the wheels are pointing in different directions you might find your very wide tyres are not making that much contact... Reason being is that mine running @ 1bar of boost decat etc is very well behaved on Falken 452's which are a mid range tyre at best!

Your car in a film
I'm not subbed atm so cant PM... skint tbh so its gonna have to wait, do you still have my number? But yeah I was rather hoping you would be up for your Z31 :D. Perfect for it IMHO, im not sure the DB6 would be sat around on a street in manchester (im assuming this is where its set). The merc is perhaps a touch flash as well, but the Stag is perfect! I'll let her know what the potential is. Ahh for exactly the same reason as mine cant be in it.... 99 front end and a slicktop so I got my geek on and told her my car wasnt available in this country lol TBH I would love to do that, it would be awesome to go round sourcing stuff for films. Cool story though! Well its a she, and im not sure on timing at the moment. Already have 3 mk2 escorts that my friends have between them, 4 door ghia, rs2000 and a 2 door rally car (tbh it looks far to new but its one of them, people missing the point that at the time an 11 year old mk2 wouldnt have a cage and a sequential box)

Stock spoiler question?
The s3/4 94 onwards table spoiler differs between long and short wheel base cars.

Your car in a film
I have a friend of m sisters who works in film and they are looking for 80's cars to use in a film about he stone roses. Set in 1990, tbh unless it's an 89 uk spec in original form then the z32 is a bit new, however (daz...) would anyone who has a z31 be interested in being involved. I think most of the cars would be just used for street dressing I think there would be a small cash payment to cover expenses. Not sure on details as yet but really scouting for interest. :-)

Auto TT's?
My first 300zx was an automatic, which I had converted to manual. I noticed a marked improvement in performance, enjoyment and economy from the car. I couldnt stress highly enough how much I wouldnt want an auto 300zx again. Compared to a modern autobox the one on the 300zx seems slow, dimwitted and the gearing is far to wide. As for fuel consumption, of course it completly depends on your driving style, high 20's and even 30 (doubt it tbh....) are possible on sedate lengthy motorway trips. Realistically though, if you use the car as a toy and actually get to drive it on a proper road. Expect 15mpg (of course proper fuel only) and if you mange 16-18 then you've done well. As for the economy difference between the 200sx and 300zx, well the 300zx is going to use far more fuel, 2 more cylinders, another liter cubic capacity and another turbo. If you use the throttle it will get through the jungle juice properly. We have a buying guide on here somewhere which might be of use, and as with these cars they are so old now ignore the mileage, always buy on the condition of the individual car. Most imports have a high chance of being clocked, often they are converted between km/h and mph, either with clocks from a different car or with speed converters, unless there is clear and signed paperwork to say when this was done its hard to work out at what point the conversion took place. Best thing to do is if you have a car that yo like, try and get a knowledgeable member on here to go with you and look for the common trouble spots. Having said all that, considering the age, relative neglect on alot of these cars and there complexity and performance they are amazingly reliable. I drove mine for the first time in 6-8 weeks last sunday, sat out in the cold all that time. Simply put a key in it and it started and took me a nice 30 mile round trip for a sausage butty and a coffee. Lovely jubly!

Welcome to V4 of the 300ZX.co.uk Forums
+1 I have to say I much prefered the old forum, it was simple and clean. I find this a bit garish. Perhaps because i'm tired but I do find my self thinking I cant find anything and its hard to see whats what. Difficult to explain but I dont think its as clear!
