Under 25 Car Insurance
I paid £670 last year for my TT import, slicktop fully comp etc. I'm 24, 4 or 5 years NCB and no points etc. Thats through admiral, I used to be with adrian flux who originally were £700 or so when I was 21/22/23 etc that was with my Old TT and the M3, but then they went expensive for some reason!. Dreading this year, but renewal is in january so wont be long until I find out!

tv help
I've been looking at getting a new TV as well, quite fancying a Samsung D5520 the 40" model, its enough for me. I have an old 32" sony which has been fine but is only 720p, it was my tv in my room when I was living at home but now ive got my own place I need something to go in the lounge properly. Its not a huge room, 13'x14' or so, so I dont want to go any bigger than 40" or so. The samsung, as far as I can tell, offers the best kit for the least price. Not 3d or anytihng like that, but it has freeview HD, 4 hdmi and is of course 1080p and LED backlit (total con saying its an LED tv as it just isnt!) but it seems each MFR is as bad as each other. Ive found one at John Lewis for £528 with a 5 year warranty. Cant really go wrong with that I dont think... Just havnt brought my self to click the "buy" button. Dam boiler getting replaced in a week so just need to watch a cash a little! Credit card looks appealing though!

Why Me :(
Or the noise from the bodyshop overnight as theyve got to jig it, prep it and paint it over night... hehe I'm sure it'll be fine mate, good of them to insist on dropping it back to you in daylight! Infact its quite impressive that they even deliver the cars back on a flatbed. I know the bodyshop I use its collect your own or if your VERY lucky they'll drop it of for you by being driven!

Vtec V8
standard vtec is a two stage thing. More modern solutions to the problem, such as i-vtec, vanos, vvti are continously variable systems which provide even MORE of the best of both worlds.

Vtec V8
BMW v8's M62tu onwards have fully variable valve timing, they also have valvetronic which varied the intake valve lift - jolly clever!

Larger front discs queory
It is an improvement as I had 324mm on my First zed with smithys relocation brackets. There is no change in clamping force as it's the same caliper. You can also argue that less of the pad is on contact with the disk. This is certainly true. However it does give u a larger surface to dissipate heat so in theory would provide the breaking force for longer.

Spotted at japfest a few years ago This was in a hospital carpark in stirling, owner had hopefully come to get help! As this was also in the same carpark as the above it must have been a group therapy session! And this just because its funny, a total muppet from my year at school, handed over full list for this brand new, finance in his uncles name at 17... rofl A selection from a cwooze I once visited in my youth....

D2 Brake conversions - Who's fitted them?
I do indeed, I have a 330mm set of 8 pots on the front, but standard on the rear. A huge improvement over stock I have to say, even with the standard D2 pads... Thats over both zeds ive had and both rebuilt and unrebuilt standard calipers, and rebuilt standard calipers with relocation brackets, 324mm disks and ds2500 pads. They are the same as K-Sports, simply a re brand. Which are both a copy of AP brakes - hence why the aftermarket pads are all "for AP brakes". I havnt had them on track, but what I have noticed is that until the pads ware warm they are not amazing but as soon as a spot of heat in them then they are great.

A bit disappointed
It may have been the 2.0 turbo gti, a very tunable motor that could have been well beyond 300/350bhp. The forrunner to this, the 1.8t in the mk4 gti is considered one of the most tuneable engines in existance. I remember seeing a dog rough 96 pasatt, steel wheels, estate orange indicators etc. One thing gave it away though, the enourmous FMIC hanging out of its none front fog light bumper. My god did it move!

A bit disappointed
Is your car automatic or manual?

What type battery ?
Cant do that as the cables are not long enough to reach the "other" side of the terminals when the battery is the wrong way around. You want an "068" battery... I found that motor factors list the zed as needing an 071, but this is wrong. HTH

Wow a working handbrake!
I dont know about anyone else but I have always found the zed handbrake to be shite. Both of mine were always rubbish, and everyone elses ive ever been in has been a pull till the handle faces the sky routine and hope for the best. Anyway, I thought it was time to get this sorted and took it to a local garage, more mechanical than anything else but they are good honest guys and know a thing or two. Turns out I had a snapped handbrake cable (obviously not helping!) so they adjusted it to be as good as it could be one one whilst I found a set of spare cables. Which I managed fairly quickly (bearing in mind its short wheel base so a bit of a pain!) So I've finally had them fitted today, along with some new rear tyres and wow. First click handbrake having an affect, second click its on and the car wont move an inch!!! Also, it turns out the broken side has been occasionally dragging we think, as of course it was no longer really connected it could do what it wanted!
