  1. New 328i/528i are just amazing really, 2 litre 4 banger with a turbo. 245bhp taking the 5 series to 60 in 6.2 seconds and returning 42mpg. crazy
  2. A very valid point - especially with petrols getting better and better! Quick set of calcs on a 528i and a 530d shows tht the diesel is 1.3p less a mile to run. Not much in it anymore! (and the petrol is faster!)
  3. Sounds good! Good ones do go quickly, there is a nice blue one for sale member name of murt would be one i would be looking at. Depends if you want a manual or not. IMHO the character of the car is changed dramatically by the gearbox.
  4. Welcome mate, are you looking for a particular model of 300zx at all? There are usual several for sale in the sales section - plenty of choice!
  5. Thats because you never go anywhere and no one wants to see you lol
  6. I doubt you could get a good twin turbo gto for £2k? Buying cars like that at bottom book is normally a receipe for disaster! She might be better with an S14? or an Mr2 as mentioned above. Perhaps a celica? All can be had for less money and much less complicated.
  7. I think it is anyway...! A friend and I went to the nurburgring last week. We came back on Friday, but before we left we went for another watch and got talking to a lad with a Black astra VXR on UK plates he was a sqaudy and also had a VW camper van on german plates. We were talking about cars as you do and got around to 300zx's, which i said to him "if you remember those" he looked at me funny and said yeah, i towed one away for scrapping the other day. Now I thought thats strange, and asked was it red and wet inside, as to which he replied yeah and the owners name was Rob... Cant be a coincidence surely?!
  8. Well she wont mind walking back from the service centre next year then! :D
  9. Happy birthday for yesterday mate!
  10. Ah i see, could you not have ordered wider rears? Mine look different front to back because the rears are an inch wider and different offset Any excuse and all that :D :
  11. Ha! That picture is awesome! Must have been a good camera to take that at speed.
  12. Awesome wheels in a cool colour, but how come youve got different designs front to back?
  13. http://grassrootsmotorsports.com/articles/understanding-corner-weights/ It's a method of setting a car up by having it in scales and adjusting suspension height and geometry and springing to balance the car.
  14. Thanks! Yeah I didnt really want a radiator, a heated towel rail would have been good but you have to draw the line somewhere and I was unsure of where I could get one in. Its not a big bathroom but ive managed to get a 1400x900 shower in there as well as a full size bath + loo and sink. Ahh needs more LEDs yes? ;)
  15. I fear several of my friends will suddenly be far more interested in how the house is getting on....! No F1 until painting complete!
  16. Thanks! Yeah its a big job, ive still so much to do on the house though. Back bedroom, kitchen and dining room to be knocked together then hall stairs and landing + all of outside argh!
  17. Somebodys bad typing I presume ;) lol £288 sounds about right IIRC
  18. Much to my suprise, i spotted that I get this for free. Never really watched F1 much before but I might do now... New GF is obsessed and has reserved my seat (cheek of it) infront of the TV... lol
  19. I've been looking at quoted weights for the Z32, does anyone know if the numbers quoted were with a full tank of fuel and a driver? Reason I ask is after my corner weighting mine apparently weighs 1353 which seems low, quoted for a Slicktop TT is 1500 ish. But allowing 75kg for a standard driver (im more like 92kg) and it only had 1/3 tank of juice so another 35kg for the rest of the "full tank"would give us 1390. I have no aircon, how much does that weigh? :)
  20. Thank you! Joys of an old house but I'm so pleased with it, such a difference and heaven having a proper shower again like when I lived at home. Mine is 1933 but yeah not nice! I've still got quite a bit of it on the ceiling but not sure what to do about it to be honest. I suppose in the long run i'll take it down but im not going to rock the boat in the rest of it for now.
  21. Well tough you've been picture whored/served! I wish I could say I had done it but sadly no, a friend of mine did most of it. I did a few bits and helped but its really all his work!
