need cheering up any suggestions??
Sorry to hear about your situation nicci, doesnt sound like hes the kind of guy you want to be with however it never makes it any easier. I'm sure you'll soon bounce back! You'd have 16k left! :) http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201226476740873/sort/default/usedcars/model/gt-r/make/nissan/page/1/radius/1500/postcode/la46hb?logcode=p Really sorry to hear about that bud, time we organised a NW meet I think, bit of pub time sounds appealing!

Basic Modifications
Thats exactly what I am saying, having good tyres will do more for your 0-60 time than huge amounts of power. Installing race logic is an option, probably a bit unrequired as rather than improving traction it will just take away the power you have.

Basic Modifications
Basic stage 1 modifications + a boost increase should see a HEALTHY standard TT up to around 340bhp mark. By stage 1 I'm meaning, exhaust, decat, airfilter and remapped ecu chip to provide the correct fueling for increased boost to 14psi or so. By that time though the stock clutch will be on the edge, assuming its worn in the first place. If you want to chase more power than that you need to go down the route of larger injectors, better intercoolers perhaps a bigger radiator. By the 360/370bhp mark (really the absolute max the stock turbos in A+ condition can manage) your looking at replacing the turbos with larger/hybrid units etc along with the downpipes. By that time your stock pistons and rods having done 15-22 years service will be about ready to break so its time for a full engine rebuild.... Really unless your commited, no point in going past the 340bhp mark from the stage1 mods 0-60 isnt really what the 300zx is all about, although a quick car being fairly powerful, rear wheel drive and no traction control means that its not an easy car to launch, also more likely to do damage to its self. The way these cars get from 40-100mph though is something to behold. Bear in mind, that if you have shit tyres on a car like this your 0-60 will take an age no matter how much power you have, it also depends on how quick your feet are as well.

Who is nearest Z specialist to me?
By my maths your averaging about 14mpg which running around the houses in an automatic is about right. You can't expect anymore from it! You might do better on super unleaded. Should really be run on that and zeds respond well to it. I once had no choice and put done regular into my first zed. The difference was amazing poor old girl wasn't happy but it was either that or it would have stopped lol. Put enough in to get me to shell filled up on the proper stuff and much happier!

JDM 300zx
Are you sure? Its more likely that UK spec glass has been fitted to the Jap car as a replacement for a broken windscreen etc. To add to this, im told Euro spec cars had some sort of adjustable suspension activated by the handbrake being on the first click. Also UK cars seem to have a button for the heated mirrors in lieu of the folding mirrors, S2+ JDM cars had this but activated by the rear window demister IIRC

Work for free? would you ?
If you get the summerhouse at the end of then yeah probably, assuming you can either sell the summerhouse to cover the cost of the labour or you actually would like a summerhouse. If you look at it that way then really someone is giving you the materials to build a summerhouse for your garden :) If you cant keep the summerhouse then no, two days labour is alot of plants and the entrance probably isnt that much - would you even want to go?

had a visit from an old friend last night, some of you might know him as well

Automatic vs manual
Depending on model of M3 and excluding E30's are they arnt that quick/so many models its hard to list: E36 3.0 - 286bhp E36 evo 3.2 - 321bhp E46 343bhp E46 CSL - 360bhp E90/2 - 414bhp. I suspect the car Daz had a run with was an E46.

Car Stock Weight
When I had my slicktop corner weighted, it came in at 1353kg. Which i thought was very low, about 1/3 tank of fuel but unladen apart from that. Minus AC/carbon canister, bogo model with 1 electric seat no cruise or climate or airbag etc. Do wonder if the scales were out! I could do with getting it weighed again to see.

1678 Km, 433 pics, £300 fuel, 6 days road trip, AWESOME!!!
Not a bad average @ about 21.5mpg! Looks and sounded an awesome trip mate! Would love to do something like that! :)

Zed got floodeded help!
Thats all well and good and sound advice, however the car would have to have had a monumental boost leak in order for water to get into the intercoolers in any great quantity!

strange thing since going manual
Faulty closed throttle switch? (Unless im making it up but im sure there was an entry on conzult which monitored a closed throttle switch?) Or throttle position sensor perhaps? Did you change the ECU when you changed over? I know an auto ecu can run a manual car but I wonder if your auto ecu has been chipped with a map that does something weird with autoboxes to keep more power on or something?

Unemployed?
I do think that people who are unable to find a job should simply do community service for their allowance. Full benefits = 40 hours a week of litter picking, cleaning, repainting all the jobs the councils don't do as often as they should. The local environment would be far better for everyone and they are giving something back for the money they are taking from the government. Its easy to try and blame the government for all this but really its the people who are effectivly robbing the country that are to blame, the government has to make the system flexible and able to provide enough money to genuine people who need it. If it was limited to X, yes 999 out of the 1000 above the limit would probably be on the rob, but the 1 person who genuinly needed it for whatever reason would be "victimised" and then the government would really be the bad guys. All it would take is some common decency, pride and respect and there wouldnt be this problem. Its a bit like the take a penny leave a penny system you used to see occasionally in shops, works great until someone tips the bowl out and pays for their shopping. They have played the system in such a way that they benefit enormously but there is no rule to say you dont do that so technically they havnt done anything wrong! Having said all that it does really boil my piss though that those of us who work 40-50 hours a week then have to pay for absolutly everything at full price and often grants/discounts are given out far too freely to people who dont actually need it! I have a couple that live next door to me, as far as me and the neighbours can work out theyve never worked a day in their lives, have a kid, parents bought a house which they "rent" no doubt goverment cash direct to parents who have told me they bought it outright! The lazyness is unreal, bins are collected each tuesday its often friday before one of them has bothered to walk the 25' to the end of the drive to put them away. Granted a neighbour comes and does mine as I often work away through the week, he makes a point of not doing theirs as he knows they are sat infront of the TV!

Question
OK so in that case I would say someone bought a UK bumper and put jap lights in it?
