  1. agreed when they first came out i thought they were the dogs bollards but i hadnt seen a zx then either, they are great cars for performance and tunability but the looks dont really set it apart as anything special , having said that the new supposed pictures of the next gen supra do have some nice styling features,
  2. 300 bhp from a NA that cant be right,
  3. both accidents i have were 100% not my fault the 1st one the bloke just pulled in front of me and he admitted it was his fault, the 2nd one i wasnt even in the car, why are they penalising me, i think its just taking the P**s tbh, too right im gonna change insurance companys
  4. well i got my renewal thru for the 200sx daily driver, i was involved in an accident 3 months ago, totally not my fault, other driver took full blame, anyways car got fixed required new front end, then 6 days later a girl reversded into it while it was parked up, saw it happen so again totally not my fault, now the renewal has a highlight bit that says "Bonus reduced pending claim excess £250 from RNL" is this for real can brokers knock down your NCB for a No claim fault, there asking £1300 quid for the renewal  i havent had a fault claim ever since i passed my test,
  5. you cant break that, i went thru the same thoughts my self when someone rear endeded, mines the other way round mint engine but needs full respray and body repairs, gonna stick it out and do it bit by bit, i know it will be worth it,
  6. i personally would never buy any car from a trader, most of them have no passion for cars and merely shift units to make money, best bet is to buy a much loved and cared for example of this forum, dont buy the 1st one u see, read the FAQ's, take someone who knows about them a few beers usually persuades people in your locally area, and just use common sense and get clued up on the known faults that can and do happen and see if they have been fixed,
  7. i think its 3.5 litres for oil n filter change on TT, and 2.1 litres for the diff according to the online manual
  8. no prob on the spoiler, i did find 6 clamps that secures it to the boot lid, its been that long since i got it id forgot, it was there about 6.15pm carpark on the right hand side just after the zebra crossing,
  9. looked a very tidy example, i work just up the road at mastercare
  10. mines been over here since 98 ive had it the last 2 years not been garaged, not a spot of rust on it, even where the tw@t ran into the back of it and bare metal is showing thru it hasnt rusted and its been exposed for nearly a year, nissan used a type of body panel called durasteel thats very resilant to rust, well mine is anyway
  11. only problems i had were perished water pipes, heater matrix and water pump, ptu did play up a bit but seems ok for last year, water pipes are anything from 10 - 20 quid get water pump done with cam belt if it hasnt already been done, suspension can be worn out on car this age so could need replacing, best to buy one u know has had all the problems sorted and u should have happy motoring
  12. i would go with the 939 socket purely as u wont have to change motherboard in the future, as far as hard drive bottle necks go, hards drives are incredibly slow compared to ram, and unless your doing huge file editing such as Digital Video, or running a server i cant see the bottle neck making that much diference in home usage, but then again if you like to have the best of everything go 4 the best for peace of mind
  13. ive always just givin the phone number of my last insurance to my new one and never had a problem sorting it out, but they should send out a certificate cant see why that should be a problem
  14. i dont rate the 911 at all tbh its image is far to vulgar for my liking, most people that bought 911s in the 80s had more money than sense and were simply giving a 2 finger salute to all the people less sucessful than them, its a sad fact we live in a society where image matters more, than driver satisfaction, i have 2 nissans now and people do say things like why have u bought an old mans car, and ew its a nissan dul dul dull, they soon change there view when i rip out there insides from a blast in the zed :xxx:
  15. i think they both decidedly ghey :nono:
  16. seem to remember someone on about earth problems can cause rads/matrix's to die prematurely
  17. hiya this is what it looked like on fas's car its basically in same same condition as i received it from fas there is a slight hairline stress crack in the coating that requires a minimal amount of filler work, but it just needs a scotch off priming then painting to be finished
  18. a very nice silver TT import K reg i believe i followed u from the fox and crown down to the sir jon cockle, nice burble, unfortunately i was in my Ford KA(K) uncoutesy car so u wouldnt have spotted me in the slightest thats 3 spotted now in a week keep coming lads and lasses and we;ll be up for a mini meet soon :duffer:
  19. after holding out for a spoiler i really wanted i got one off fas, but have now decided to go smooth as well, after all spoilerless is the way the designers originally intended the car to look so i have a greddy rear spoiler up for grabs that does require painting and a small amouth of prep work
  20. saw a nice import tt looked totally standard G REG out site the chinese on outram street, paintwork/bodywork looked imaculate  thats 2 zeds in less than a week when i havent seen one for months, have to sell up now if they getting common round here
  21. thanks for the replies, very helpfull, since ive had the car i havent touched the steering wheel and i dont know any history of the car, thing is i have a much better condition steering wheel to go on it the current one is very tatty, would it be best to take it along to the wheel alignment centre so they can fit it or is it an easy swap once the wheels are aligned. and can anyone reccomend 4 wheel alignment centre in the nottinghamshire area ta
  22. im getting back into the zed and currently sorting the niggles out, one of them is that the steering wheel needs to be about 2 oclock to drive straight, is this simply that it hasnt been put back on correctly or is my tracking that badly out, i do seem to get a pull to the left when i let go, but is that just road camber as it seems to vary on different roads, what effect does the steering wheel not being on straight have on power steering, hicas etc. thanks in advance
  23. dusted the old beast off, it hasnt moved for about 4 months, due to the heater matrix busting, i finally got round to bypassing it, fixing the brake lights, so i topped up the power steering fluid, checked the oil, jump started it and it fired up, did not sound too clever but after a couple of minutres it was sounding smooth as a freshly waxed peach, and went for a major blast, forgot how much attention the car draws compared to the s14a, people turn round on the high street to see whats coming, that big burbly v6 and the turbos spooling up is just the nads. really must get round to sorting the paint job out
  24. dont know about north east but in the east midlands house prices have rocketed while salaries have pretty much stayed the same, 4 years ago a nice 3 bed semi would have cost u 50-60 k u cant even buy a bleeding terrace for less than 70k now, average wages around here seem to be 10 - 20k , beer prices are extortionate to what they used to be, pint of stella 2.50, and eating out ain cheap either a meal for 2 and 2 drinks cost 25 quid at a pub ne mind a proper restaurant, makes me wonder what people do round here cos the increase in flash motors has doubled, every other car is bmw merc or mecedes, mansfield used to be a nice fun place but if theres a square inch of land available they build a block of flats or a retail park on it
  25. ive watched my friends kid grow up from being born, shes a single parent and works, and the kids 2 in november, and he can be a right moody sod sometimes, but have to agree with mac the early stages are the easy bits
