1. I am after a drivers side floorpan section in good rust free condition. If anyone is breaking or knows of a breaker with a good floorpan / inner sill section then please let me know asap.... Trying to fabricate the part is going to be very hard to get the shaping correct, so looking for an alternative to fabrication... Or if anyone knows a good fabricator who could make me the correct section..... and it must match the oem pattern as I want to keep her looking oem.... being picky..... lol I don't want to break her, so exploring all options..... Thanks everyone.... Russ
2. Hi Jaikai it’s a BMW bulb ... Osram 63122695020 21/5w available on eBay.... item number 221937178044.... hope it helps.... Russ
3. Thanks Redwine...... I don't want to get an unsympathetic welder/fabricator who would just slap on a patch.... I want accurate replacement panels, either new or great used condition.... I would do it as i was ready to fabricate a shaped panel for the indented section with the original hole i found..... But as it is a few panels all shaped, i am going to get in touch with someone I know who does vintage work.... I know you can get sill panels, but can you get floorpan sections or the inner sill section? If not then is anyone breaking a Z with a good drivers side floor and sill????
4. After stripping the underseal off to get a better idea of where the rust ends...... It just kept going both along the inner sill and across the floorpan........ I am now feel overwhelmed trying to work out how to go about fabricating something that doesn't look like a bodged on piece of metal...... heres the video i did of how bad it is........
5. Hi everyone, after a lot of issues over the past few years and less and less time to spend repairing my Z...... I am contemplating giving up and breaking her...... This will be the end of my 17 years of Z ownership.... I found a folded over piece of sill lip under the drivers side front where the front wing is bolted onto the sill. It looks like someone has jacked the car on the lip or something has hit it from underneath. I will never jack her there for this very reason and it was very rusty where it was damaged. After stripping off the underseal today I have found i have lost about 20cm of the inner seal where it meets the floorpan, as well as a lot of the shaped front floorpan.... Heres the original picture of my first find......
6. Well I finally got a replacement last week left with a neighbour...... Took a while But 'Joel' from Z1 finally sorted out the replacement after quite a few emails back and forth.... So now she runs, but maybe breaking her now after the latest 'tin worm' find..... unless anyone has a good drivers side floorpan and sill??? It just seems to go from bad to worse.....
7. I will check with the recovery truck company as most of my 0-60mph is done on the back of a low loader........ :innocent:
8. Well I have finally had a response that just says, "I will start a missing package claim with FedEx. If you have any more questions just let me know and I will be glad to help. *Please always include previous correspondence in replies*" I have forwarded the email from Fedex to them admitting they messed up the delivery.... I need the MAF for my MOT by the 30th July though....... So looks like I'm going to be off the road for a while till this is sorted as mine won't pass the basic emissions with the over fuelling issue...... it stinks of unburnt fuel now....
9. Well nothing ever goes smoothly it seems....... On 30th June 2018, I ordered an BNIB OEM MAF from Z1 Motorsport for $291.27 On Wednesday 4th July @ 12.10, I got a text message saying I owed £27.09 in clearance and admin charges, so I paid this by 12.00 noon. I contacted fedex to see when i could expect delivery as it had said before noon. I was emailed back 0n 7th July @ 13.42 saying, "I am pleased to confirm that this shipment has been delivered on 4th of July at 10.18 am and is left at the front door" I was at work until 3pm on 4th July, so I took it the wife had signed for the item at 10.18am and began to ask her where my parcel was...... she had no idea what i was talking about as no card had been left...... let alone the parcel... It appears Fedex decided to just leave the parcel on my doorstep in full view of everyone, Not put it under the car, behind the car, with a neighbour or even the usual over the side gate..... I contacted Z1motorsport through the website on 7th July, No response..... Again on the 9th July, No response..... Fedex however have investigated and sent me this response:- "Thank you for your email dated 07.07 please accept my apologises for my late response. I am sorry to hear the following package has been left at your front door without any authorisation and is now lost, Due to this I would like to invite you to claim for the loss of the goods, As per the Airway bill I can see the value of the goods is $99.00 to claim this amount can you please complete the attached bank details form. Once again please accept my apologise I have escalated this to the depot manager to ensure this does not happen in the future" I waited till the 14th July just in case and as yet have only had a reply asking me to fill out a feedback survey about my purchase...... You can guess what I have scored them.... I tried again today and have now finally decided to go to my card provider to dispute the refund amount. It appears Z1 have listed the item at $99 and not $291.27, so all Fedex will refund me is $99..... So it looks like I have no option but to go through the card providers claims process and wait to see if Z1 step up and finally respond to my emails?? I didn't expect Z1motorsport to ignore all my emails for over 9 days ........ what has happened to them? They used to be good at getting back to you by email....... All I want is the MAF so I can arrange for my MOT.........
10. I don't have any issues with a bit of beaver chewing on my trunk....... rofl
11. Can I ask if it is possible to keep old members forum names, but delete their personal information from their profiles? Wouldn't this keep archived and old posts showing the member name only to say who posted it and satisfy GDPR as they would no longer have any personal information only a nick name as such? No names, date of birth, contact info, so they would become anonymous, satisfying GDPR! It would be nice to have our own wiki / technical knowledge base that is easy to search and formatted in sections like the original Nissan Manual layout? BR for all brake how to's, etc.... We could add our own write ups and photo's to help one another, as Jeff has done for us for many years..... (Thanks Jeff)... Lee Bird has done the iPad install, Redwine helped me so much with my welding and fabricating sills mission a few years back...... there is so much talent and knowledge in here..... AndrewG with his knowledge of all things Z..... etc...... So many people here who have helped others so much.... Thanks Russ
12. Cheers Joel, thought I would try the new WD40 product as it has worked well at my work so far..... But I know what you mean about plusgas being great, especially when you own an older car.... lol
13. Well looks like I found the issue...... drop links changed and the N/S/F tension rod bolts had worked themselves loose.... re-torqued them and the clonk when stopping at low speeds is now gone away........ And weirdly no rear ABS faults popping up.... may have to check for crap on the sensors and connections...... But now one happy bunny.......
14. Thanks Jeff, I shall try that when I pick up a deep 22mm impact and will follow your guide with the rear ABS sensors..... Your a star.... Cheers for that Redwine300, currently given up trying to loosen until they are soaked for at least a few days then..... hopefully the MAF will be here by then.... and I can see how differently she drives... I have a can of WD40 rust release penetrant spray just for this job now.... lol Time to go and soak it....... Cheers guys.....
15. I would like to come, but need to prebook the low loader for the return trip this year..... :whistling:
16. Have you not got a calendar on your mobile phone / tablet / PC????..... :tt2: Sorry had to hit the WTF for the barbel...... lol
17. They are a T6.5 bulb and are not an off the shelf type. You maybe able to get away with a T5 bulb, but they are mostly lower wattage around 1.7w.... heres a link to a site I found that appears to have them for $1.99 each.... http://www.autolumination.com/instrument_panel_bulbs_t6.5_24_wedge.htm So you need a T6.5 between 3w and 4w output T=width of bulb 6.5mm Hope it helps....
18. Well jobs, Jobbed today:- 1) replaced all 6 spark plugs 2) replaced both front drop links 3) replaced fuel damper 4) ordered turbo rebuild kit 5) found uprated actuators for rebuild of my spare set of turbos 6) was descended on by Kgonzokia for a cuppa tea.... lol 7) found oil and transmission leaks 8) tried to remove o2 sensor, but too stuck.... will try another day after WD40 soaking.... 9) Checked all fuel line clamps and found loads loose... It was quite a productive day......
19. Hi Jeff, I checked the fuel damper and it seemed ok, but I tested the vacuum connection with a piece of vacuum hose and could taste fuel..... I swapped it with a spare I had just to make sure.... I couldn't move the O/S O2 sensor with the lambda socket I have as it tried to slip once so stopped trying before it rounded off... Not tight enough and opens up due to the wide slot in it.... I have sprayed WD40 on it and will give that a day or so to soak in..... is it best to cut off the wires to the old sensor and use a long 22mm impact socket....? I do have a Makita impact driver, but was trying to loosen it by hand rather than round anything off or snap anything off...... I have replaced the 18 month old drop links that have completely perished boots on them with some nice new OEM ones..... Replaced all 6 PFR6B-11C spark plugs with new ones as the old ones were really sooted up... I have also found big engine oil and transmission fluid leaks, so need to clean it all off and find where it is coming from... Seems worse on N/S above the turbo somewhere..... I am guessing variable timing solenoid on N/S leaking through the back...... but going to clean and investigate first.... I have ordered a brand new OEM MAF from Z1, so want to do the o2 sensors while I wait for it to arrive... I have also ordered a pair of 360 degree turbo rebuild kits to rebuild my spare set of turbos, to go with the upgraded actuators I bought in the US 2 years ago but never fitted... Now all I need is to acquire and change the N/S/R ABS sensor as it keeps throwing a code when I go further than around town..... plus ABS keeps cutting in at too lower speeds and when I am just about to stop fully....
20. Thanks Jeff going to have a look now as changing drop links at the minute.... I will look and see if I still have a spare one in my boxes of spare parts....
21. Well its the plug died.... dropped in new plug and she is back on 6 cylinders.... But have found that when i removed the balance pipe it stank of petrol and all 6 plugs are covered in black soot..... I am swapping out the o2 sensors for 2 new Bosch ones if I can get them out and ordered a new genuine nissan MAF from Z1 as they are at $248 at the moment...... Hopefully she will be running again very soon.........
22. speaking of the mis sold clean diesel option..... lol
23. You will regret it Si...... and I think deep down you already know it!
24. Tested the injector and it is 12.5 ohms..... so within spec. Tested coil pack and got 0.8 ohms Removed spark plug and looked like this..... I pulled another coil pack and plug and found very black sooty plug..... I swapped plugs and coil pack and the problem has moved to the other cylinder..... Going to see if I have another set of coil packs and order a new set of plugs..... Where can I get some NGK PFR6B-11C Plugs in the UK?...... nobody over here seems to have any..... or do I go to copper or iridium?? Running very rich and very sooty...... any ideas on what to try first to adjust the air/fuel mix?...... MAF failing? O2 sensors need replacing?..... where to get quality replacements Bosch / NGK in the UK? Cheers
25. Well I have lost number 3 cylinder....... Pulled coil connector and no change on 3 only...... I am going to test the coil pack and injector in a while..... Out with the multimeter again........ Bloody typical, just reinsured her again..........
