  1. Well I am hoping the 8600GTS will go in my sons pc as his card died this week, he had a 7300 card (cant remember the exact model) so hopefully it will fit so I can upgrade my pc with a new card, I have a quad core processor and 3gb of memory so its only the card that needs to be updated. Cheers John
  2. Cheers for that, my m8 uses them all the time, I will have a look, cheers John
  3. I was looking at an ATI Radeon 4890 which I can get for about £130, have had a chat with my neighbour who is a pc systems analyst or something similar, typical its not straight forward as you say with the choices of slots in the mother boards, am hoping this one will be fine, I need to open the tower and check it to see what type I need to get. Cheers John
  4. Dave I done mine in place, do you have the car on ramps or is it up on lifts/over a pit. I done mine over a pit, the drivers side being a PITA but I done it. I would say on the deck up on ramps would be more akward. Dropping the crossmember is rather severe as mentioned m8, just get yer agressive head on, it SHALL come out. I fitted energy suspension bushes to mine, the old origional bush came out no problem, the new one was a nightmare to fit. Cheers John
  5. No probs Dave will keep that in mind. Cheers John
  6. Hi Guys Am hoping to put my Nvidia 8600GTS card in my sons pc as his card is buggered, so am maybee looking to upgrade my card, any suggestions? Cheers John
  7. Guys thanks for the replies, got 2 Acer recovery discs and they ran and reinstalled a fresh copy of windows and all the drivers, so am sorted now. Cheers John
  8. In this case would it not be wise to contact ebay so the listing can be removed, surely they look into things like this so people dont get stung. Cheers John
  9. No whats happening is I have software I use with work, I need a fresh install of XP Pro and reinstall the software, I have 2 xp discs, one genuine SP2, the other I got froma forum member here, both when I boot from cd go so far then crash so its not the discs, I have used the genuine one on another laptop I have without issues. I have a boot cd coming for the laptop as it came with the software installed, it had vista pro on it but i needed xp pro for the software, nightmare, nothing is straightforward lol. The laptop is only 6 months old and has been used with the softweare only for about 20 or 25 times for about an hour each time tops, isnt used for anything else even internet. Cheers John
  10. Are there any other ways of putting a fresh copy of XP on a laptop. When I go through F8 I dont get the choice to boot from CD, when I go into the acer menu (F2) and boot from the cd, it starts to load then I get blue screen. Cheers John
  11. I had a custom single exit system made, sounds amazing when u kick it, single for me. Cheers John
  12. That has to be bargain of the year, frickin £230, sell the manual conversion and you are in profit!!!. Cheers John
  13. Not sure about the pins Mikey but I bought a rear bearing for mine, was about £120 as its not just the bearing thats included its the carrier as well. I bought mine from Brown Bros. Cheers John
  14. The lorry looks to be unladen with the lift axle on the unit and trailer up but, surely you are aware of other traffic and where it goes, ohh and wonder where that car went and whats that noise is, he is probably on the phone to his boss saying he has lack of power, the truck isnt pulling as well as it was!!!!! Cheers John
  15. Have just spent £54, I bought 2 air drills, the sirline filter/restrictor kit and a cutter, might go back and get a compressor, all with a 3 year warranty, cant be bad. Good find guys. Cheers John
  16. Happy Birthday guys have a good one. Cheers John
  17. Maybee I am taking this a bit far, I guess I am just trying to bring the peace of mind factor to buyers but there will always be the people who go out their way to take money and send nothing. Kinda sad really. Cheers John
  18. Am just thinking out loud, I dont mean anyone's details be given out etc, thats not what I was thinking, but as groover says maybee a plan is to swap contact details before any money etc changes hands. Annoys me to think that people could make a quick buck from others, in most cases the seller is genuine and of course everything is open to abuse with false numbers, what about a kind of refrence system whereby other members vouch for the mobile number (or home number in some cases). Cheers John
  19. Sounds like its nachered. Best to trickle charge it overnight and have the battery tested properly with a load tester, personally I havent much confidence in the modern electronic battery testers, but thats just my opinion on them. Cheers John
  20. With regards the post made by one of the members of the forum about not getting parts after having paid the money, what would the members on this forum think of when we register/pay subs we need to provide contact details ie, home/mobile number and address so that in the event of a situation like this there are a means of getting in touch with the offending party. No details provided, then you are not allowed to sell, pretty crap for people like me breaking a car or selling the odd part but in the end the small minority spoil it for everyone. The information isnt made public, it should be kept private with the mods. Just a thought, what do u guys think? Cheers John
  21. My fav tool I have used o nthe Zed is me Fluke 179 Multimeter, amazing bit of technology, but with my work I have access to lost of juicy pc related items, meaning I have ZF software to plug into buses (am not a frickin bus spotter before anyone says I am) and can check the auto boxes are working, one of the screens showing a schematic of the box changing gears/retarder working etc. I have put up a screenie of this and its very impressive to see it working, would be really cool to have something for the auto boxes on the zed, would make diagnostics on them a lot easier. Cheers John
  22. Cheers for that Rich, might have managed to source the Volvo one lol. Cheers John
  23. Here are some pics of the connector at one end and of the complete cable, Have just paid £177 for the earlier one of the 3, I have the 1st one, just got caught out today with this one as I dont have it but can borrow it. I am not sure of the terminology, would I be right in saying its OBD2? Cheers John
  24. Anyone ever sourced an OBD2 Connector for plugging into vehicles. I need an adaptor cable that goes from 8 pin (connector I already have) to 16 pin male OBD2, its only 6 wires but my friends at Volvo Trucks wwant £122 + VAT so I reacon I can make it for pennies. Anyone ever sourced this? I went to RS components and they were like wtf is that never seen it. Cheers John
  25. JT is another one who lives in their own wee world, all footballers to me are overpaid underachievers, it annoys the life out of me when I hear the likes of Andy Gray and some of the other pundits saying these guys are tired from playing too much, more playing = less training for me, well seeing they dont have a real frickin job, as for Tiger couldnt care less either way, he has more money than I will ever have, its just typical human greed and stupidness thats created all this, all the trash magazines about stars etc, what a load of crap. As for headline news, sorry but that doesnt wash, there are soldiers in Afghanistan doing a gr8 job, compared to Tiger, doesnt even come close to being more important. People in positions have got it all wrong as usual. Rant over! Cheers John Cheers John
