  1. jynx, im just the other side of chichester, well 10 miles, if you want me to have a look over just ask.
  2. As most of you know, i work as a plumber for a housing association, some of my other things i get involved in clearing houses for work for one reason of another. After 7 days of people doing a runner anything left in the house is classed a rubbish, previous threads have shown that i have found such things as a Breitling navtimer watch, penn international big game reel and other stuff. But have had 3 things sitting around for a few weeks, that i thought sod it chuck em on ebay and if i get a couple of quid then cool. All items put on ebay with no reserve starting at 99p with the auctions ending today. Antique match holder, found in a fallen down shed at the bottom of a box, bit rusty, cast iron sold for £99. Remains of a 1/8 scale rc thunder tiger car, found whilst clearing a house, chatted to mark derby (on here) not worth repairing, sold as spares not working sold £49. set of 6 big game lures with hooks, found same house as big game reel sold for £63. £211 thats not at all bad, Now my zeds need £150 of welding and she will back on the road. might change my name to magpie............... Stu
  3. Seems ok, if thats all in, but my question is have the garages that quoted done much work on 300zx's before, alot of garages will give a price, then after the have started doing the work, the bill rises due to unforeseen things. due to the fact, they dont know what they up againest. I would personally take it to a garage that knows these cars inside and out, knows what issues come up, plus has done many timing belt changes Check out zedworld in the traders section, your car will be in very good hands, plus he will have a good look over the rest of the car and offer advice on other bits. If your quite handy on your own, then the belt isnt too bad, but the turbo's can be a pain. Just my opinion.
  4. PMSL, joel dont show your rod, you know what the judge told you...............
  5. because they want to drive with no lights, or reg details on the trailer, as they were probably pis*ed, and the trailer was nicked. but if you had of crashed into them, they would try and sue you for whip lash, stating they could never work again and due to you crashing into their trailer which the reg and lights were stolen earlier, but there friends cousins, next door neighbour, who was at work knew a guy who borrowed the van, from a guy who after competing in the local "get that rabbit contest" didnt win, said, it was good to drive and fully insured, drove in front off you. until you had the stupid idea of driving to work early it was your fault............. Sod that, because they are fookers........................
  6. Nice to see another zed down south, welcome, as stated before you go sourcing a new motor, check the window amplifier, common problem and easy fix, i might have a spare working one.
  7. Have a word with Bigh, he made some up for me when chris bower couldnt.
  8. depends how bad the sills are, ive been doing mine for last 3 months, making new panels and welding myself, has cost me nothing yet, but time is a factor, ive only got the rear arch to do, then i will a rust free Uk zed. just depends if you need to get it on the road quick, i dont but want to know thats its all done.
  9. cheers bud, time to strip it and ebay it then..
  10. Mark re our conversation. this is what i found in a house clearance engine has pro 21r on the side, 4" wheels, full suspension and seems to have all servos intact. length is 20" x 12" wheelbase. what is it missing, can i swap bits into different chassis, if so what scale and type? Thanks Stu
  11. Been trawling to find info on the wheels i have on my zed. I picked these up for £200 complete with all chrome bots and complete alloy centre caps a couple of years ago. My wheels are 18" Gewalt specialist drift spec rims, 3 piece sizes 7.5 and 8.5 with an offset +44 Since then i have never seen them on another car, nor on any site, or for sale. but have found a guy who bought some of the last ever wheels before the manufacture closed. He paid £3800 us, just for the wheels alone earlier this year ( £2350 at todays prices) Ive had someone offer me $200 each for just the centre caps. My plan is to have them totally polished, professionally powder coated back to original as new condition, my mums other half is a cnc machine enginner and will make me exact copies of the centre caps from billet alloy how ever many i want. New gewalt wheel Mine Centre caps I knew they were rare, but not bad for £200 stu
  12. no reason why not, the zed gaitor is held together by holes in the leather and metal stays. just use the original as a guide and cut out the holes with a hole punch. just depends if there is enough height.
  13. lol love this bit Broke the scales at the Post Office ... lady behind the counter was furious. Mr. Singh has banned me. Had to use a courier instead. Van was a bit overloaded. Gave the driver a drink, and he was okay about it. Parcel got lost somewhere between Slough and Watford ... don't understand how that could happen, as Watford's only down the road

  20. The other half asks me this morning, do you want to do some christmas shopping in Brighton tonight. To which i reply "you know i cant stand shopping, im going to have a kebab and a few beers and do stuff on the zed, you go have fun" Get home start on the car, whilst having a beer. Get a message on my iphone, open it up, all it says "you should have come shopping, guess who we are with?" i open the attachment only to see a picture of my other half and Keith Lemmon giving me the thumbs up at WHSmith in Brighton.................. He is only there doing a book and dvd signing, and im not there Sure he is a total tw*t, but he is my idol. Now the poxy rain / sleet has kicked in and no more playing with the zed Time to get the kebab then and some more stella Bang Tidy Stu

  22. my Uk 94 has been off road for 2 years in feb, it gets started every week, and is always washed and polished, but in that time i have completely changed it back to stock look, revamped the leather interior, fixed any issues, am currently on the last stage of sill and arch work, then thats it, a very very late spec 94 UK TT manual that is rust free and fully working. Starts instantly and purrs as it should. Hopefully just after xmas will be all legal and ready to see if it was all worth it.
