how to illuminate rear panel with pics
The logo is raised on the inside of the panel, i used the side of a stanley blade, and bit by bit. you need a steady hand and patience, this job took me an hour alone to do. But you have to remove the paint which is silver, or the red from the el panel wont show through

how to illuminate rear panel with pics
This is the el panel i bought, it comes with the convertor, all you have to do is splice into the rear number plate light. Looks the nuts at night... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/1-piece-of-electroluminescent-panel-12VDC-EL-inverter_W0QQitemZ380133436988QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item5881b7ee3c&_trksid=p3286.m63.l1177

how to illuminate rear panel with pics
Remove the centre panel,, once this is done you need to seperate the parts. There are 4 x small screws securing the top edge, remove and keep safe. Using a hairdryer, you need to heat up the entire edge of the panel, to loosen up the black glue. Once done, remove the '3oozx'' logo paint, it is raised on the inside, i used a stanley knife and scrapped away the paint to reveal clear plastic. Next i sprayed the inside rear panel chrome to match the rear lights. Now using a 12v El Panel, i got this this from ebay and is availible in all colours, the thickness of paper, and comes with a 12v convertor, it needs to cover the inside of the 300zx logo, I had issues with the previous installation, in that the el panel showed though the panel, so i blacked it out with some metal duct tape. In the rear part of the panel, i needed to get the cables of the el panel into the boot, a 10mm hole with a bit of play let the connector though the panel, this is to pick up the feed later.

The best way in
Under the battery tray is a rubber gromet, i used this to run my cables, it comes out behind the glovebox, bit of a fiddle, but its all kept hidden, then under the carpet through the car and into the back.

dump valves question
Well i have them fitted to mine, dosent make it go any quicker, but it sounds the nuts going through tunnels of west sussex, give it some full boost and then let them off. Sound is amplified greatly!!!!! plus traffic coppers on motorbikes, think they sound loud as hell, or so i was told by him..........

Help with 'odd' breakdown
Agreed with Hellraiser, its been very wet in the last few days, maf +zed+rain=dont mix. Check the connector isnt damp, as it will make a big difference. Moisture will also mess about with the ptu. check connector and that it has a complete rubber sleeve on both sides.

Advice General
Make sure he fills in the new owner part of the V5 log book in front of you, and you see proof of his identity ie drivers licence. I didnt do it once, 2 months later police knocked at my door re oustanding speed camera tickets. luckily i rememberd his name and part of address.
