  1. Sean, give pistonheads a go, you know you want to come to the TT side, is it my fault for showing you what they are like..................:nana2:
  2. Agreed, can someone make this into a poll. please
  3. Just out of interest, how much did you spend on your zed when you bought it. I know mine was a total bargain and fully working, needed the odd bit of cosmetic stuff on the outside, nothing major, any work ive done myself, the most expensive was doing the clutch. £200. M reg UK TT Manual £1500. everything working and it still gets used every single day.:hyper: What did yours set you back??????????
  4. Cheers for turning up at the pub mate, sorry but matt made drink all that Stella. Nice to meet your other half, and as stated, mine 19th, get a cab Ta Stu:duffer:
  5. Looks good mate, is it me or are the zorsts fooking huge????? im typing when under the afluence of incohol, but they do look big.........
  6. When the Shoreham air show was onat the weekend, i was in the black Uk TT and we flashed each other in South Street Lancing. Think yours is a k or an L reg.
  7. Welcome to the club mate. A fresh import will be in better condition to the same year of a UK spec. However, look at a few, dont just buy the first one you see, unless it stands out. Believe me, Good uk Specs do come up, and they can be as good as a jap spec. See a few, you will soon understand a good one and a bad one. Plus on a UK, it isnt restricted, and if your lucky you get electric and heated both front seats too. Not being biased, if you get my drift.............
  8. LMFAO, Si you should be in the dictionary. Quality:- Funkysi and the ability to post picstures of pure class to establish the truth behind real issues in life. Too true, most of the pigs ive seen at car shows in the UK, want to stand on your seats with their head out of the t tops, with crappy New Look 4" heels. at least get some 9" hooker boots and ruin my interior.........
  9. If your around tomorrow evening, im about, will hassle sean Sean (atlast) to get his Slow N/a out, and pop over, Mines a Uk TT Manual...........
  10. depends on your budget, if your looking at a car local to you, put up a thread to see if someone who knows what they are looking at may pop along and see with you. Have a look at a few, there is good and bad. you might a cheap one, but it will cost more in the long run, get a well looked after one, by someone who is not just a seller, but more an enthusiast. When you find a good one, it will show.
  11. Mark are you the guy in Goring that Atlast met, if so im just down the road in East Preston, and if you want help or advice, im not bad, plus i have a fair bit of knowledge on zeds.. Stu
  12. WTF, that is a disgrace to be a black zed, i like wide arch kits, but this one looks as it was made after a blue peter episode, why wide arch and not fill em with decent width tryes. After looking at the pics if it wasnt bad enough, what is going on with the chrome metal look floor mats, they look shite too. Bleeding superman badges aswell, it states 'Not for the shy as everyone looks. Fooking right they look and think "total shite" Rip of the kit, and all the other stuff, chuck it on the bonfire, and start again. :xxx:
  13. Welcome to the club Jo, nice zed (seen other thread) Northolt, as in Northolt Middx, Near hayes/Uxbridge.???? If so, i lived in Ealing then Uxbridge for a while, and still have mates in the area, spent many an evening at the swimming pool, or destroying the roads from there towards pinner in a Lotus Sunbeam as a youngster............ Will be heading to Hayes for a party in next few weeks, will be in the zed............
  14. Good holiday mate, not much been going on, few zeds having engine work, few zeds still having probs, a few of us have been messing about and losing tyres locally................................
  15. I used the exact thread as Bullit has posted, but did a couple of things different. No need to split the prop, just undo at the diff end buy removing 6x 6mm allen bolts, make each one with tippex, so you know where they came from and remove prop in one piece. Also label every connector, i used masking tape and number each side of connector and also listed all numbers and where /what they were on paper. Makes putting back together much easier, just a case of ticking of the numbers. A must is the 3 x 30cm extension bars and a couple of decent 14mm sockets, this is to gain acces to the top bellhousing bolts. Give it a go, you will learn loads about the zed engine and understand good and awkward bits. Done 5 now (remove uno's, remove mine as dead, fit uno's to mine, and another remove and fit on uno's next zed,
  16. Awesome tune, have a look at In the ghetto too.
  17. Stunning zed mate. Black zeds with black wheels, and red brakes look the nuts.............. Nice view from above............... What year is your vert, as it has the later airbag steering wheel series 3 or 4 i think, 95+?????
  18. When i did my first zed engine swap, i started saying this within a couple of minutes. Worst one was undoing the bellhousing bolts when changing the clutch, just thought "stu you may want to use a rachet for that", no i didnt, the spanner slipped and i punched the subframe at full pelt. One of the other Stu classics, newer members wont understand, After polishing a balance bar, dont lick it to see how hot it is...................:headvswal:headvswal But it made plenty of others happy.....
  19. Cheeky git, your zorsts were clean, and i think you will find that i was in front of you........lol See you over weekend if not for a lot of beer on tues.:hyper:
  20. What is it with the roads of Sussex?, for some reason whenever im out driving near my house, zeds seems to be driven quite hard. A couple of weeks back, there was a Black M reg Uk TT, sliding around, now tonight A White jap M Reg whilst driving in front of me, must have driven over some oil, as he was sliding around a roundabout, i must have hit the same oil also, as it made mine slide too. Very tidy car, but the driver looked as if he had been working hard.............................. Dont know what type of oil it was, but made both cars accelerate................. Good on you mate.....:nana2:
  21. If it seems to race higher in the rev range, revs go quicker and feels like slipping, then it could be that the clutch is on its way out. PLus you zed is super clean, you can see white indside the rear wheelarch. Welcome bud.
  22. the outer lense of the panel is a single layer of clear perspex, if you have condensation in there, this is because moisture is entering around the edge, usually an area where the glue has gone. Rain / car washing will make it steam up. you need to dry it out, remove the panel from the car, then remove the light holders, (held in with a single screw) Then leave out in the sun for a few hours, should dry up, if not the panel needs to be sperated, there are 4 x tiny screws along top edge, use a hairdryer to break the black glue. Becomes plyible when warm. Once open, dry with hairdryer, and try and remove as much black crap as you can. When sealing back together i used some Black bathroom silicone. Mkaes it easier to split if you need to seprate again.
  23. Best bit of kit for your toolkit is a small file set, and a can of Ambersol contact cleaner.
  24. Are you sure you havent got an air lock. Jack up the front of the vehicle as high as possible, remove rad cap, and bleed screw fill little bit at a time, keep heater on hot / max and full pelt. Keep doing till all air blows hot into car and you cant get anymore in, (starts filling expansion tank) Turn replace cap a bleed screw, turn if off, lower down to normal and let it cool. Then check water when cold. If water is on oil dipstick, get a compression test done. There should be minimal amount of water in expansion tank when cold, as engine fills it up when hot, then draws it back when cooling down.
  25. Sort it out Barry, LOL When are you going to pop over, as when you do, will introduce you to some other local zeds. Plus yours is the best colour.. Stu
