Or just remove the fuel pump relay, located drivers footwell, green one. 10 secs job

garage being crap - good job i know what im doing!
Your kidding.......... if its was attached to the balance bar, it would have been to the left drivers side, which should be a breather pipe on a manual balance bar, so where is the air pipe now, 1. Windscreen wash in the balance bar would cause all manner of probs, from soaking all the coil packs, let alone dumping water into the zorst system, then the O2's woould be fooked too. You say you hadnt any water in the bottle, thats very very lucky. Name and shame mate.

feels like it going to stall?????
Have a look at the connector to the MAF, sometimes gets a bit green and corroded, clean the blades of the connctors with a small file and some eletrical contact cleaner. Also check the MAf element isnt dirty, also can be cleaned with contact stuff. Dont try and clean with a cotton bud, as its very very delicate. I use Ambersol, If the maf is dirty or damp will cause crappy running.

Welcome mate, japs are usually in better nick, due to no salt on roads, however there are decent UKs around, if they have been looked after. Depending on the series model, mine is a UK TT Manual, 94, have both front seats are electric and heated, plus not restricted, and its passed its MOTs no worrys. Where in Sussex Are you???
