  1. Well done that Zed..........it at least has got some taste and is obviously rebelling against it's appearance, not wanting to be seen in public.
  2. I left myself open to that one, but it's the drivers seat not the passenger seat
  3. Thanks craig-s, but I have just bought an electric drivers seat today and you're right, they are darned heavy. What I am trying to find out is how to transfer the electrics to my drivers seat. Carl, thanks but your memory might be playing tricks on you. From what I can see there are electrics inside the seat back probably has a motor inside to adjust the rake of the seat back, that's not going to unbolt from the chassis. Dave
  4. I wonder how that happened? :nana2:
  5. Or honest!
  6. Oh my Gawd!!!!!! It's the first Zed (is it a Zed?) I've seen that looks like a heavyweight boxer caught in drag. Someone should put it out of its misery. I hope I never see it on the road. Dave
  7. My Zed, although a 1995, does not have electric seats so I have bought an old drivers seat with the electrics in good working order and now want to transfer these electrics to my drivers seat (which is in excellent condition). I was advised on an earlier thread that it wasn't difficult. Would anyone who has done this conversion please give me some advice as I have looked at both seats and, to be honest, it doesn't look an easy job at all. Dave
  8. Well mine's a '95 Jap imported August this year (pictured in my sig below) and I've just sold an '89 Jap imported June last year. Both cars have absolutely no signs of rust anywhere. Dave
  9. Yeah -you can get them on fleabay too, I had some on a Boxster I sold when I bought my Zed but the little B*****D's damaged my valve stems trying to get them off. I was lucky they didn't take their frustration out on the car. I think the best thing to do is take Craig David's advice and go back to the cheap and nasty black plastic ones - at least they don't get nicked! Dave
  10. Some b*****d has nicked my valve caps FOR THE SECOND TIME. I bought a couple of sets off ebay when I bought my first Zed in June, they were nicked within a week of me putting them on. I kept the second set and didn't use them until I bought my second Zed in August but now these have also gone. I suppose I was lucky to have kept them this long but it really pisses me off when some little b*****d helps himself to MY property. I know they are only a few quid a set but if I catch the thief he will get a severe beating from me, I couldn't care less about "PC". Dave
  11. Many thanks Oilman for a superb post :smash: . You must cut&paste it into our FAQ section else it will soon disappear into obscurity which would be a tragedy. It gives an insight into why synthetics are, justifiably, so much more expensive than petroleum oils. Could you list the most popular oils that we are likely to use in our Zeds in price order, whether they are petroleum based, hybrid or synthetic and whether you would recommend them (or not) for standard/modified/track - TT & N/A. Sorry to work you even more after the facinating details you have already given but we must use experts like yourself to the maximum whilst we can. That's one of the main things I love about this club, there is always someone giving out useful information like this that help us get the most from our precious Zed's. Cheers - Dave
  12. Four grand for a '93 seems a high price. You can get a really good A1 '95 for that money. Dave
  13. Thanks for the info, saves me paying out for useless wheels. Shame, they are really nice and only £100 at the moment.
  14. Seen some 5-stud alloys on fleabay that "fit Golf and Audi". Will they fit my Zed? Dave
  15. I just start up and drive. BTW how did you pick this thread up Dave, have you noticed the dates?
  16. Has the summer gone then?
  17. Hi y'all 1. hellraiser + 1 2. tonyC 3. wozzer 4. Captain Slow 5. Rodders +1 6. mal300 7. moby 8. ianL 9. Z32dave As the ferry leaves at 9.45am we have to be there 9.15am LATEST (web site says no earlier than one hour before sailing no later than 30 minutes before sailing). Therefore the Little Chef meet should be 8.30am NOT 9.00am else we will miss the ferry.........any comments? Dave
  18. How come Jason gave himself a one weeks ban on 5th October and he has written dozens of posts since then. His ban should only have been lifted today. It will be interesting to read his excuse for applying one rule for himself and another one for everyone else. :nono: Dave
  19. Take care, xav2075, angels can also fly! :nono: Dave
  20. Oh crikey....double whoops!!..........it's not just my geography that's crap. :slap: If we go for the 9am ferry, we have to be there 8.30 LATEST. In order to convoy we must meet up by 8.00 LATEST! We are not all local, I am coming from Swindon, TonyC from Daventry etc. this would mean too early an alarm call for me. I still think the 10.15 ferry is best choice but how about a compromise? What about the 9.45 ferry with us meeting up by 8.45 (providing it's not too far from the ferry). EDIT: The ferries are 8.45 or 9.15, there is not one at 9.00. So I still go for the 9.45 one. Dave
  21. Whoops!.........geography never was my strong subject. Thanks Scotty, I have edited my post to 'Yarmouth'. Dave
  22. I think the clocks go forward early on Sunday 29th so we'll have an hour less in the sack anyway BUT, we have to start somewhere so:- I suggest 10.15 ferry from Lymington to Yarmouth, 20.00 ferry back from Yarmouth to Lymington. We could meet up at 09.00 at somewhere like a Little Chef near or in Lymington (early arrivals can enjoy a breakfast/coffee) and convoy to the ferry. What do you think? :hyper: :hyper: :hyper: Dave
  23. At the end of each day I put all 5's 2's and 1's in a money box which, when full, is cashed at Asda and divided between my grandchildren. Dave
  24. I know about illuminated rocker switches but I am trying to find a more aesthetically pleasing solution, I certainly think that's worth some hassle. Dave
