MP3 - How do I record music?
I bought a 1gb mp3 player off eBay last week but I don't know how to copy music onto it. I've got lots of my CD's copied to iTune on my laptop. Can I copy them to the mp3 and, if so, how do I do it? I've tried just copying one as a file using explorer but, although the file shows as being on the mp3 I can't play the music! I know I'm a dumbo but can anybody help. Cheers - Dave

And I thought I did well on eBay, I paid £95 delivered and it looks like the same product. I should go for them, why pay £235 through the Group Buy??

Feb's Hatchgate Pub Lunch Meet
What a great day. Thanks to everyone for making it such an enjoyable event, it was the first one for me and everyone was sooooo friendly that I encourage all members to come along to these meets, they really are not intimidating at all and great fun. The venue was excellent with plenty of parking space and really good food (something very important to me as witnessed by my figure). I am only sorry I had to leave early so couldn't join the police training college trip, I'll make sure I can spend more time next time. I'll now start enjoying the photos that have already started filling the forum. Cheers - Dave

Who keeps removing 'new posts'?

Who keeps removing 'new posts'?
It's me again, having another moan. Who is it that keeps removing new posts? It can't be an automatic thing as sometimes they are deleted every 15 minutes or so when there are only a few threads and other times they remain unchanged for ages and five or six pages of threads accumulate. I often go to 'new posts' and glance through the thread headings to see what interesting ones there are (it happens sometimes, like this thread :p ) and then go back to the first page and start looking at specific posts. The problem is, when I have looked at one or two, I go back to 'new posts' and there are now only half a dozen threads showing. I would very much like the items on 'new posts' be left longer so that I have a chance to read those of interest. At the moment many threads must be unread by us mere mortals simply because we never see them on 'new posts' My suggestion is that a minimum of four pages (about 100 threads most recently having posts) should always be viewable and only those older than this four pages should be removed. Either that or a time limit of perhaps a couple of hours should be allowed before the thread disappears from the 'new posts' listing. Is there any support for these suggestions? Cheers - Dave

Headlights - need them brighter.
O.K. I've got the message :slap: I've ordered an HID kit with 6000k from eBay today. It's guaranteed 14 months and came recommended by a well known buddy on this site (No names - No packdrill). AND THEY ARE ONLY £95 DELIVERED :hyper: :hyper: (Who the heck needs to pay £235?). I know you'll say they will be a load of crap but they do come recommended from a guy who's opinion I respect. I can't wait to receive them and fit them. I know they will be a great improvement on the candles that are currently flickering on my Zed. I thank you all again for the advice and information and I will keep you informed about their arrival, fitting and performance. Who knows, a couple of you might want to join me at that price. PM me if you do and I'll give you the eBay reference and you can judge for yourself. Cheers and thanks - Dave ps I really must get round to bringing my signature up to date.

Should dealer's be held partially accountable
Lot of truth in that. I was a motorcyclist in my teens (50 years ago!) and progressed up to a Triumph Tiger100 Sports which was a 500cc pretty fast machine for it's day. I could ride it as naturally as if it was part of me, even at 100+ I was always comfortable and in control. I bought my next bike, a Kawasaki 1000TSR when I was in my late 50's and I remember being scared s***less when I took my first corner. Even though I had that bike for about ten years I was never comfortable on it right up until I sold it last year.

Convoy Participants For Hatchgate
Easier for me to go direct to the pub - see you there at 12.30 Trouble is my Zed's filthy and I'm not going to be able to clean it before tomorrow, so it will have to carry all that dirt as well as me. Cheers - Dave

I can only presume it was mike as I pm'd him but haven't had a reply, just saw that the clock had been corrected.

Should dealer's be held partially accountable
Perhaps that's why you're not a dealer lol

Should dealer's be held partially accountable
That's why I think that any limitations should be based on experience and not age. There are many young drivers in this club who I'm sure are much better drivers than me as they have track and/or drag experience and therefore know the characteristics of the Zed much better than I do. I haven't even skidded mine yet, even in this weather!

Headlights - need them brighter.
£1k is a bit out of my price range lol. What's beginning to concern me is the brightness of HID's. Are they dazzling to oncoming traffic? I have been considering 6000k or 8000k so perhaps I should opt for the slightly less bright, but bluer, 8000k.

Should dealer's be held partially accountable
I understand where you and hunnipie are coming from and if it was only the driver who suffered I might agree with you, but so often the inexperienced driver also kills/injures the passenger(s) and innocent bystanders. Whilst we must protect the rights of individuals we also need to protect the community as a whole.

forum clock - now correct
Hooray :hyper: :hyper: :hyper: the time on this site is now correct. At last someone has taken notice of the rank and file members and done the decent thing by us. THANK YOU (WHOEVER YOU ARE)

Should dealer's be held partially accountable
I think experience should be the criteria rather than age. Even a thirty year old who has just passed their test could be a potential danger with a powerful car/bike. I also think that 'power/performance' should be the criteria rather than engine size. With the engine performance enhancements now available even a reasonably small engine can be modified to high performance levels and therefore require experienced handling.

Should dealer's be held partially accountable
I'm not a dealer, but it doesn't sound as if any of you are either! Dealers are in business to make money, quite a difficult thing for them to do at the moment with the depressed prices cars are selling for. Provided they abide by the law it is not fair to expect them to turn down a potential sale. Don't think I'm feeling sorry for them BUT, if you were selling your ZED would you refuse to sell it to a young person if they offered you the asking price? I don't think so. You might offer them some advice on the handling characteristics etc. but I can't see you turning a potential buyer away. I think there's a lot of merit in limiting powerful cars and bikes to experienced drivers/riders, but this should be implemented via legislation not by relying on dealers to turn away legitimate business.

Headlights - need them brighter.
That's a new input, Paul. What are the costs and benefits?
-
Headlights - need them brighter.
Hi - Thanks for your input. What do you mean by 'unreliable'? I am about to decide on buying an HID kit and it would be helpful to know any pitfalls. Cheers - Dave

Right Techno Geeks
Wouldn't size and weight be important to include on the form? You might turn up to collect and find it's a parcel wrapped Zed! lol
