  1. The JUN one that set the land speed record was around 1400 HP :)
  2. Brakes slightly grabbing. My rears did it in my Skyline but only in reverse.
  3. http://www.300zx.co.nz/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=3005
  4. That's the one - couldn't remember it's name :)
  5. http://300zx-twinturbo.com/cgi-bin/manual.cgi?list=efec&dir=&config=&refresh=&direction=forward&scale=0&cycle=off&slide=17&design=default&total=190 See the IAA Sorry, it's not a stepper motor, it's a solenoid which is PWM'd by the ECU
  6. No not the throttle assembly, the idle air adjuster at the back of the intake manifold. It's used to bypass the butterflies to get the car to idle.
  7. http://300zx-twinturbo.com/cgi-bin/manual.cgi?list=efec&dir=&config=&refresh=&slide=4&cycle=off&scale=0&design=default&total=190 and look for the IAA
  8. The "crackle" is the noise the stepper motor makes trying to control the engine RPM. Clean the idle air thingy at the back of the motor. Do a search on idle air.
  9. Power steering assist amplifier - takes a speed signal in and applies a varing amount of power to the steering solenoid. Make sure that the solenoid is OK and still connected (on the steering rack)
  10. Is it smoke or steam ? Steam is OK as long as it stops
  11. Petrols shelf life dropped dramitically when they removed the lead content. What used to last 12 months now only lasts around 1 to 2 months before depositing varnishes, etc everywhere.
  12. and not on the metal section of pipe
  13. Here is a great article from DBA http://www.dba.com.au/2006/consdocs/C006.asp
  14. Mine was so hard I had to cut the leather and plastic off to get a pair of polygrips on to the metal part.
  15. At least some bits didn't turn while others did :) A lot more expensive than a tensioner !!!
  16. Just checked the manual and there should be a big earth, a big battery feed (consisting of two wires) and the two pin plug. One of these goes to the bulb and the other goes directly to the battery via the same fusible link as the big positive cable. This second wire is a remote voltage sensing circuit which is used to overcome cable losses.
  17. Correct As opposed to what? Nowhere - direct route
  18. Go for the fuel idea, you're on the right track.
  19. That means the brake switch is working
  20. There's not much wiring to go wrong between the unit and the lamps so you could probably rule that one out. The wiring between the front of the car and the unit seems to be OK as it's indicating the fault correctly. Leaves the box and the connections to it really.
  21. Right back behind the electric aerial by the looks. Page EL-113 of the EL2 PDF
  22. Page EL-57 of the EL1 PDF
  23. The bulb checker circuit probably has a dry solder joint in it.
  24. The twin setup will halve the amount of fuel reaching the pots but if you fit 720cc injectors you are back to square one again. A standard computer can then be used for fault diagnoses if you ever needed to - as long as you limit the boost.
