  5. Looking forward to seeing and hearing this car. When you first fire her up and the sound of the V8, should send a shiver down your spine. It would me :D
  6. Thanks for the comments
  7. That's good to hear. Didn't realise it had been 27 months. I was looking at your car on friday when I was down there. It is looking very very nice.
  8. I looked on the driftworks website and couldn't find them :D Would there be any benefits in replacing them for the driftworks setup? Cheers, Ant
  9. I guess you would still keep the standard engine wiring loom? I only ask as I found one of MAC's old posts that said All I was looking was simplifying the engine bay and wondered if I could do anything with the engine wiring loom. Chris told me what MAC had done so I thought I would throw the question out there. Thanks for the replies so far. Ant
  10. This is probably going to sound stupid and pointless but here goes. Just curious, but at the Custom exotics open day I was chatting to Chris Mayo and I was telling him how I wanted to simplify my engine bay. He was telling me about what MAC has done to his car regarding a different ecu or something and that in turn you lose the coil packs, CAS, AFM, ECU the engine wiring loom. I'm not 100% sure of the details. Im guessing you only do this if your running high power and would cost a lot of money? or could someone explain a bit more about it really. I'm just curious to know what you lose and what gets replaced when doing this. Thanks, Ant
  11. The bumper needs a re spray due to very high speed bumps I came in contact with ;) Also I'm replacing the light adjuster cogs on the lights so needed to remove them as well
  12. I managed to get more done on the car this friday. I got the remaining items removed and disconnected. Brett at Custom exotics helped me with the final little bits like the cross member and engine mounts. We was then ready to lift the engine out. I gotta say that it came out easy than I expected. There were only a few things still connected that I had missed. That being the oil cooler lines to the engine and the big old earth connection by the battery. Other than that It came out relatively easy. I was pleased with how it went as this is the first engine pull I have done and was expecting to have missed loads of stuff, instead had managed to get most of the stuff removed and disconnected. I'm now looking forward to stripping the engine ready for the rebuild and hopefully learn a bit more :) Still can't believe how many wires and vacuum hoses there are in the engine bay that make it look messy and untidy. Well I took yet more pics :D Ant
  13. Happy Birhtday mate. Have a good one.
  14. Couldn't believe How many people were there. think Scott and Brett were surprised. Good turn out. It was good to meet you Joely and good to see you again Chris, will call you mate when I start to do more on the car. I have a couple of pics that I took near the end when it was clearing out. I will post them up. Ant
  15. When I drag my backside out of bed I am going to try and get there for about 11.30-12.00
  16. I'll be there. Your rear screen is in mate.
  17. What thickness Cometic Head Gasket would you recommened I should get on this setup? Thanks, Ant
  18. I am having a engine rebuild and have taken loads of pics. I thought I would start a thread and share my pics and progress through this. All the work is getting done at Custom exotics, but though It would start stripping what I could off the engine at home in the garage. I have never done this before so It felt a bit daunting, but after a while I was enjoying It and was pleased I started stripping it myself ( felt I was learning more about my engine by doing this) I have managed to remove the drive belts, radiator, AC radiator, PS pump, AC compressor, alternator. All the intercooler pipes removed along with the inlet pipes to the turbos, some were a right pain. All the electrical connections on the top removed and the ones round the side I could see as well. I found the heater matrix pipes were bloody hard to disconnect. I disconnected some boost hoses, but reckon there are a few more I have forgotten lol. I have been using the guides for engine removal from here and found them very helpful. Looking at the amount of wires and hoses there are in the engine bay is scary, but I hope to simplify the bay a lot and make it look a lot less cluttered along with a bit of bling. If you ever seen DUBSPEC engine bay from the aussie forum then you know what I mean. I am aiming for something like that. More stripping later this week, glad I'm labeling and taken loads of pics. Here are a couple of pics of the car as it looks now down at Custom Exotics. Thanks, Ant This is was a week ago when it arrived at Custom Exotics Pics from today
  19. I'm planning on not touching the heads, so will give them a miss. Cheers, Ant
