  3. shocks should not effect ride height have you had any work done recently, were the bolts tightened up with the car on its wheels?
  4. nice one boldy whats with the cutout in the os inner arch
  5. the morris is looking good:laugh:
  6. i bought 4 linear meters to do mine its a swb so a little bit more is needed. i have done both door cards, all panels behind seat, all panels under the dash and the centre console sides. also did the centre of my recaros, head lining , a pillars and targas. not bad really and cost me about £100 in a similar colour to stock
  7. You must have done something really bad in a previous life mate. really feeling for you. if the paint is not through to the base coat then something can be done. when my zed is back on the road ill pop down and give you a hand with a few of the problems
  8. well done mate, good to see such a stunning car go to a good home i have no idea what a tl1000r is though, guess its a bike
  9. my 200sx used to and so did my 300, both had the carbon canister deleted
  10. you could just connect that up to the gearbox and burn fuel in the exhaust intake, connect the compressor outlet into the exhaust inlet too and you have yourself a jet engine. might upset the handeling ballance a bit though
  11. thanks for that mate. just realised you are only just down the road, if you need a hand any time let me know
  12. will you be binning the clutch vac tank (large squareish one) if so could i ask how much you would want for it
  13. the postoffice will also charge you nearly £10 for paying the vat for you, i bought some upper arms from the us and they used usps, service was good and the tracking worked well apart from when they get to the uk (dont believe you have a missed delivery) i hear other companies can charge alot more for paying your vat up to around £20
  14. for a start i would say your car is worth more than 2k from what ive seen, more like 3-4. as the guys said that buys an ok zed and a runabout
  15. Hi mate bought the clear coat from a paint supplier about 6 months ago, i definatly got the mix right (not sure about the thinners now) and didnt mix up the tins etc. the paint has sort of cured its just very soft
  16. temps were around 20c with lowish humidity
  17. yep, i was very precise with the mixing etc 2:1:10% using 2k thinners, up to 50% on the final coat to give a smooth layout si, do you think i should persist with the metallic black or go for plain black now. i have always prefered plain black but wanted to keep the colour original. Plain black will give a much deeper shine etc. or i could just go for white. i need some inspiration to keep me going in these darkest of times
  18. thanks for the responses guys on the door where i had the problem i have wet sanded it back with 200 grit them moped it with g3, whilst the finish is now like a mirror you can see where the reaction has altered the base coat. a bigger problem i have now is that none of the clear i applied has fully cured. it has now been at least4 days and all panels can easily marked with a finger nail etc. could these be connected. i realise my problem before was probobly due to me recoating the clear too quick as when i ran out it must have partially cured. i think im going to have to flat back all the parts i have painted right back to the primer:death: not going to use clear over base again, going to buy some 2k black as i dont think i can get the base coat up to my expectations (very high). At least with the 2k black i can get the car painted with minimal fuss and then wet sand and polish to a perfect shine. on a positive note all my panel prep was spot on as all panels are perfect (flat) Just feel like burning the damm thing now, hours of work gone to waste:crying:
  19. Been painting the removable panels of my car this weekend and had a problem with the top coat all was fine on the door untill i put the last coat on and ran out of clear, quickly mixed some more and then carried on on the panel. suddenly i got a reaction and the clear coat wrinkled a little. not sure but i think it may have messed up the base coat. using 2k clear over a metalic black base. i know its my own stupid fault but this is my first spray job and im learning. im going to flat it down and polish an area tosee if the metalic is effected. Am i best assuming it has reacted down to the base to flat it off and give i light base coat followed by clear again or do i need to strip it all back
  20. loads about here. really bright leaving long trails accross the sky
  21. No problems mate PP address is peterjloveday@hotmail.co.uk
  22. i have a set of almost brand new (few hundred miles if that) nissan rear shocks £65 posted
  23. I guess the problem is that if my mate gets the lock fixed the landlord will not pay. But his only other option is to not have a door lock. Ive already told him to keep the key so the locks have to be changed when he moes out
