  1. I use Uniroyal Rainsports On the front and have never had a "moment" in the wet.
  2. Mine reads One mph over at 70 according to the SVA R/Road. Jap tt auto, UK clocks.
  3. There is an aditive that "drys" the water out of fuel somehow, I think???
  4. Got the best, MCgard, from various people. I was in the motor trade as often had to remove locking nuts. Never had aproblem until I tried to get Mcgard off. Only way I got them off was I found the key. This was on a volvo, and I have heard several stroies about volvo main dealers having to cut the wheel of when the keys were lost. And they have no moving parts to corrode. My 2p's worth. And its whats on my car, and my wifes FTO.
  5. Srrae, if the wheel bearing was making this noise I guess it would be breaking up, and then it would make a terrible noise. Look else where too. Luck.

I thing Lord Hutton should do the enquiry, that way we will know the outcome before the enquiry even starts. And it wil be fair!
  8. Cloth or leather, airbags on the later ones I would guess. Series one to series two makes some difference, cloth is different, better I think, 2 electric seats, PTU (?) is better, heater fan changes and probably other things but I am not up on this stuff. But a S2 has to be better becasue I have one. And I am selling to buy a Skyline, well thats the plan today.
  9. No really, they start in 2, but if you boot it then go to first. And first was sooo low it almost always went straight back into second, weird idea, wasted a whole gear for 99% of the time.
  10. Paul C, then allow me to say sorry, and I mean it. But my ex parents in law had a 190 auto, must be 12 plus years ago, and that did only go into first when you booted it. and I also used to rebuild autos, more years than I care to remember ago though, and it is true, merc used to "save" first for when you pressed the gas hard. No offence meant before
  11. SRAAE, you fixed your pulling to the left yet?
  12. Paul C, you dont know your Mercs. As for the bullshit comment. Thanks. But, spend some time and find out I am right and then say it again, only this time it will be to yourself.
  13. Actually the box on a Z is not very clever, in fact its dumb compared to modern stuff.
  14. Not trying to scare him, early Mercs used to pull away in 2nd. Not Z's though. Def def def wrong. you need to speak to someone who really knows, if they do they will tell you what it could be. 01296 481145, ask for Ken.
  15. Cosmik, it is my understanding you have to be able to TAKE IT BACK, be a while then....
  16. Defo should pull away in first in D, if yours doesnt I would say its faulty. Mine is as fast either way, but I think some autos are stronger in manual first, something about using a band as well as a clutch.
  17. Generally, if its the front wheel bearings, as you turn left or right, this ease's the presure on the outside wheel. If its the bearing, the lower presure/weight can make the noise stop or reduce in amount. This can help.
  18. If it runs on 6, but it takes a while. Almost as if the engine has to wind up to 6, this 6 could be your problem with starting. When ijectors get a bit old, they can leak, this makes no difference when running but when stopped for a while the fuel runs out of the injector and needs to be refiled before it fires the cyclinder. I have not seen this on a Z but have on many other cars. ???
  19. Take the car to a good garage/battery stockist and they will check the battery. Easy. Gotidude, theres no carburettor on a Z. If you think there is I would question your advice, but I am sure it was meant well. My Z takes a while, 4-5 seconds, to start if I have left it for 2-3 weeks, and in my case I think it is the fuel taking a time to get up, but i should not e as the presure is quite high on these pumps. When it starts does it run on 6, or missfire a bit, if it misfires it could be the injectors leaking.
  20. Waaaaaaaayyyyyyyy to expensive...
  21. You say your passenger side wheel spins less, and your car pulls to the left (passenger side). It does not take much drag on the brake to pull slightly. Your wheels should spin more than half a turn. Sound like your pads are dragging because the pistons are not fully retracting, mind you they dont move very far anyway. Maybe they need a strip and clean? Tyres can cause it, but if you have not changed them and then the problem started, it should not be that. Ride height would not, IMHO, cause it. Balancing would make no difference. Tight wheel bearing? same as brakes = extra drag. It realy should not be too hard to find. I do think it is a resistance problem not something like ride height, shock etc etc. A wheell can be quite a lot further back than the other one and if it is pointing in the right direction (tracking confirmed it is ok) not cause this so, jigging will not fix it even if it threw up another problem.
  22. My mate has a UK Supra TT 6 speed manual, my jap TT auto is only a tiny bit behind. And if I get on the gas first I am away. Both Standard.
