Solid Engine Mounts
I had a mk3 cortina with a V8 in it, aand when you booted it the engine touched the steering UJ, so you had to make sure you were pointing where you wanted to go as you had zero steering, jammed it solid, hence the chain idea.

Solid Engine Mounts
years ago when I used to put "big" engines into "little" cars I used to use a good old fashioned chain to limit engine movement under hard acceleration. 99% of the time the chain is slack, so no vibration is passed to the car, but under full throttle the engine moves, the chain tightens, and the load is taken from the engine mounts. Got the idea from the Yanks, funny how old ideas can be forgotten

good method for removing locking wheek nuts?
Pauliezx, there are two types, the most popular is round barrel shaped, if you look at the end, as if you were looking end on, they have a "wriggly line" on the end where the key fits. If you do a search you will find some to compare, these are very hard, and my locking nut removers dont even scratch them. I do have a selection of keys, and I have been lucky in the past and found one to fit.

Possibly most stupid question of the day
depending on the design of the wheel you can have them redrilled, ie 5 extra holes.

autobox
The PLanetary gears can be very expensive, and as the gearbox eats itself these stand more chance of being damaged, among other things. A quote from most reputable auto box rebuilders will EXCLUDE damage to hard parts, so on top of the quote you could add a lot of money. Of course you might change to a manual then this makes no difference.

autobox
This is classic, and if you clean the filter it may drive for a while, but it is a waste of money (oil and filter) and you are probably also doing even more damage to the hard parts in the box. Accept it, dont waste even more money.

most haunted
I was watching on Friday eve, and playing PC at the same time, avtually I had just finished rebuliding it, and I got this strong burning smell, thought it was the PC for a second but it was an odd smell, sort of "spicey", thought not much more about it until towards the end of the programe (I was watching it full time then) and they said many people had rung in saying they had smelt burning. And on other nights I have had Spirit, ghost if you like, come into my house while watching..

Hope you lot like it more than the last I offered.Seamus and Murphy fancied a pint or two but didn't have a lot of money: between them, they could only raise the staggering sum of 50 pence. Murphy said "Hang on, I have an idea." He went next door to the butcher's shop and came out with one large sausage. Seamus said "Are you crazy? Now we don't have any money left at all". Murphy replied "Don't worry - just follow me." He went into a wine bar where he immediately ordered two pints of Guinness and two glasses of Jamieson whiskey. Seamus said "Now you've lost it. Do you know how much trouble we will be in? We haven't got any money!!" Murphy replied, with a smile "Don't worry, I have a plan. Cheers!" They downed their drinks. Murphy said "OK, I'll stick the sausage through my zipper and you go on your knees and put it in your mouth." Said and done, the barman noticed them, went berserk and threw them out. They continued this, bar after bar, getting more and more drunk all for free. At the tenth bar Seamus said "Murphy - I don't think I can do any more o'this. I'm pissed and me knees are killin' me!" Murphy said, "How do you think I feel? I lost the sausage in the third pub."

Towing an Auto
engine running means the oil is pumped round, I towed a Soarer all the way from Kent to Bucks like this and no probs. Put it in N, should be fine, I would do it anyway.

NZR Do you beleive in Ghosts?
MAc I know what you mean about looking after your child, in my exp most, 99% maybe, of Spirit, ghosts if you like, are nice. As I said she would have past relations to look after her somewhat, and we all have guides, or helpers as some call them, these seem to come and go but for one who has chosen you, your daugter, each of us, to stay with for all of our lives. And this Spirit would also look after your daughter. Most important thing I can say to you is if you are in doubt, prey for protection. I can hear people laughing, forget them and remember it. In my church, (the whole movement) it is believed that we as a people must move towards a more Spirtual existance, this does not mean giving upfast cars etc. But we can have all we want as long as we are "nice" too. (bit simplistic maybe). I would never tell you what to do but you are probably more worried about your daughter seeing the lady again than she is, to your daughter it might well seem "normal", and in reality it is, it is us, the adults, who are not normal.

Homebrew, you can think what ever you want of course, but I KNOW what I know, too many things have happened to me, from me and near me for me not to believe. My arthritus for example, NO ONE can explain that away, try as they might. With all due respect, and I mean that, your opinion is what stops you from seeing etc. Please dont take offence, as none is intended.

NZR Do you beleive in Ghosts?
Children are "purer" (is that spelt right), as in they have less baggage, less reasons not to believe. We, as people, collect thoughts, experiences etc as we grow, and then we tell ourselves these things cant happen, etc etc. Just look at some of the posts for proof. When I "see" things, no one else has at that time, but I am a member of a spiritualist Church, and I am much much nearer the bottom in terms of ability that some others there. Some of this forum will laugh at me, this is OK. I really dont mind, for several reasons. One is, that I know this is how things are, I eleive that we come here many times, and when you are on your first visit, or nearly, you quite simple are not as "wise" as you will be on subsequent visits. Look at people you know who are just so calm maybe, or cleaver in ways that seem beyond what they could have learned in this life, or who can play instruments from early age etc etc, How many of us know peole who are "just so damm thick"? I call them "first timers". And I know that one day the doubters will look back and realise they were wrong. I have heard many peoples "dead" relatives say that when they were alive they would not have given this idea the time of day, and yet here they are talking to their loved ones! Another thing just for interest, I was diagnosed as having Rumatoid Arthritus, 2 blood test confirmed it, my mum (she did not tell me but I think I am right) cured me. No cure is available in the NHS etc, but on my six month visit my blood was 100% clear. The Doctor was lost for words. My son los the end of his finger by sticking it in a Paraglider prop, (by accident) the hospital wanted to amputate but forgot to ask for permission during the operation. I worked on his fingers as hard as I have ever done anything, (Spiritual Healing and Prayed), 2 months after his opp, the surgeon did not believe his fingers could be so good. They are now fully healed and you would not know they had been damaged. Sorry for going on.

NZR Do you beleive in Ghosts?
I have had Spirit take my keys of of a key ring, more than once while in my pocket, not some clip on type but a proper one, have had them hold my arms to my chest, hit me while in bed, (a tap really). I have had one walk through me, it made my whole body fizz. I often, I mean weekly have one standing by me while at home. I have also seen Spirit standing looking at me while in church, and I have watched a medium giving an address while being "used" by Spirit but I could see the spirit standing by the medium with his mouth moving, but not in time with the words of the medium, but as if he was talking in another language, asked the medium and he said the Spirit was Polish. Etc etc. My son used to see his grandad and had chats with him, often the young ones see when we cant.
