  1. I dont know for sure with the Z box but the theory is sound. As for your problem before, that would be the third gear clutch worn out, if it was the pump or converter it would give very different problems. DONT forget what ever you do to FULLY FLUSH the cooler and its pipes before you re-fit the box.
  2. Could be that third gear clutch is on its way out, and the noise is the clutch plates slipping slightly, whats the colour and smell of the oil like?
  3. Sounds like poor quality chrome to me, there are so many chromed parts around that are subject to heat that if this was a real problem it would be everywhere.
  4. Autos are better suited to todays busy camera infested roads....shame but true
  5. Auto fluid does expand when its hot too.
  6. I had a braided pipe made up for my sons 200sx (turbo feed) for £20.00 cash. From an industrial pipe maker, might be one in your area, and he did it while I waited.
  7. FOB = Free On Board, (I think) but it basically ,means its on the boat their end all paid for, except shipping. My Z is 1 Series 2, it is like new underneath, and very good on top too, had it 2 years +, came with 17' split rims, lowered. I would def do it again, BUT, maybe I was lucky?
  8. Spin it over with the coils or something disconnected so it does not start and see if the oil comes out of the pipe.
  9. I imported mine, very easy and very pleased with it. IMHO newera are way too expensive, having said that, Japan is a long way off if you get caught. SVA etc is easy too. If you fancy doing it, do it. Watch the prices, you need an FOB price, some charge extra for FOB. And I got the exporter to sort the shipping.
  10. No Offence. But first, if it makes no difference, why would all of the quality, makers of amps, speakers etc put + and - terminals? They would not do it for nothing, and as I said, if the polarity is wrong the speaker works backwards, so the initial movement of the speaker will be backwards and not in the intended direction, ie forwards, and as a result the sound will move "backwards", to some degree. Work it out for yourself. As I said, no offence intended.
  11. StuartR, if you dont think it makes any difference you should just put some old transistor radio on the seat, that will give you a sound you can be proud of. Lol
  12. Get down to basics, it has to be faulty or lack of oil. IMHO

I have 5 spoke 17' Split Rims, they were on the car when I got it. The offset is important, as has been said, because they they look alot better when this is right. But also consider the diameter, tyres for 17' are cheaper and theres more around, also the ride will be better on 17' than 19', and you will have more "tyre" to protect the rim if you go down a pothole etc. But they wont look as good. If you post your email I can send a pic. If you put a wide wheel on with a fairly narrow tyre this will leave the rim unprotected from kerbs etc. I always buy with rim protectors.
  14. And just in case you still dont know which is which the speaker should PUSH out with a deep bass note, if it PULLS its wired backwards. Sometimes youneed to place your finger close to see if the speaker "hits" your finger. If you know what I mean.
  15. Best single thing I did was to change the brake fluid. Brakes got a lot better after this, and its very cheap anbd very easy.
  16. I removed my "Worn Out" tint. It was ssooo easy with a hair dryer. Do it yourself, took me about 30 mins.
  17. I had a quote of £100.00 to regrind and supply both sets of shells for my sons 200SX, so you need to allow for more journals as its a six, the time quoted was a short week to grind the crank, (they do have other work booked in if they are any good). 24 hours? Sound suspiciously short to me, the engine needs removing, then stripping the bottom end to get the crank out, and then taking to the grinders, and so on..
  18. If you think flushing your auto will help your wrong, if it needs flushing its BECAUSE its going wrong. And chainging the fluid is mstly a waste of time and money for the same reasons. A delay in taking up the gear might well be worn seals on the clutch pistons, which means its on its last legs. However IF, and who knows from here, its just seals it would be cheaper than if it damages hard parts. You need some proper advice, and from what I read thats not on here, inc me.
  19. tracking and toe in or out will not make the car vibrate, and why does it not do it in reverse? Is it becasue you are going a lot slower? My money would be warped discs.
  20. easy to be wise afterwards but insurance is cheap, and then there is no worries in the money area. good luck, dogs are better than people
  21. Raydetinue, why, if its the splines, does it work again after being left for a while. I know, the splines "repair" themselves if left standing but not very well so they get ripped off again after a short drive. Yeah, that must be it. Silly me. Lol
  22. Well yes, but the fact is that on many occasions removing the cats allows the smoke to be seen, I dont know how but it does seem to work that way. As I said my mate had a 24GSi, basically it smoked on the overrun all of the time, but each year come MOT time he put the cats back in, and hey presto no smoke, and then when they were out again, smoke.????

Have a Look for yourself. It will say on the steering wheel.
  24. If you open up the filter, on most injection cars, its miles of paper, the only way to check it is to renew it.
  25. Paul C, is it not the fact that the cats "REMOVE" the smoke that makes it seem like the turbos die after the cats are removed????? A friend had a tuned Carlton 24v GSi that smoked, but only after the cats came out.
