  2. it can be done in situ if its a turbo model but it would be far easier to remove the engine.
  3. ^^^^^^^^^ Yes not worth all that effort and not having them skimmed.If the heads are not warped now they probaly will when you undo the bolts.
  4. Id dont see how it means the pump is at fault if you do really have low oil pressure.The pressure in an engine is kept by the close fitting of journals to their bearings.if the journal to bearing clearance is high then you will lose pressure.Pumps seldom fail in my experience.

  11. The only place they can leak is from the camshaft seal or the vtc cover plate.Ones an o ring and the other a lip seal.Bit cheaper than a new pulley bud.

As i said the new belt will have lines on it that sit adjacent the cut outs in the sprockets.As long as these lines and cut outs are lined up correctly and the dot on the crank sprocket is next to the belt line the timing will be fine.The dimples on the back plates are only a guide as the belt lines are what should be used when timing the engine.If your still not sure id get somebody in to do it for you as a mistake will prove costly.
  15. It doesnt matter if the sprockets move slightly as long as the lines on the belt are adjacent the cut outs in the sprockets then you are still on the money.
  16. ^^^^ definately syncro by the sounds of it.syncros will change fine if changing slow but as the shaft speed and gear inertia increases it will struggle to slow them down and cause the crunching noise your getting.

  20. Its called a radiator support panel in the trade if your ringing around trying to get one bud.
  21. No the thermostat is held and sealed by the the water pipe.make sure the thermostat jiggle valve is at the top or you wont be able to clear the air out of the cooling system.
  22. If the water pipes are pitted slightly where the hose fitted apply some sealer inside the new bridge pipes to prevent any leaks.
  23. 275 will be stretched slightly on a 10" rim.285 will look right for the wheel.
  24. If your on about the vtc springs they are pressure fed anyway along the camshaft.The variable timing is altered by varying the oil pressure in the hub.So just install them and the engine will do the rest.
