  1. 116 ish mph
  2. Have not noticed any difference since having mine done. I think you would just get used to it after a few hundred miles anyway if you did notice the difference and adapt accordingly.
  3. Dont panic yet! If its only going to 190 then not picking up 4th. staying in third. Are the changes very jerky and harsh. especially the first change up? Also on the overrun, when you lift off at any sort of speed does it return to almost idle, i.e. no engine braking? I pressume you are not getting auto error code flashing when you first switch on, i.e. power light flashing 16 times. If the answer is affirmative to all the above, then I dont have a clue! seriously though it sounds electrical, as that is what happened to mine. Got it checked out by autobox specialist and found broken wire to autobox ecu. They checked everything else first though. Cost about £300. Good luck and hope you get it fixed soon. :(
  4. J specs usually have done less mileage, by quite a way. Less or no rust. As for insurance NU Direct DO NOT discriminate against imports anymore, as I have just found out. My premium just gone down from £750 ( last year ) to £389, plus excess cut from £350 to £120 and it is now protected as well. Good hunting, you wont be dissapoited whatever model you get. Just make sure you have it checked over first before parting with any readies. Direct imports have there problems, but there is plenty of advice is available here.
  5. Go for a HKS single can, big outlet pipe and beutifull noise. I understand you dont get much more oomph from cones on a NA, standard clean original panel filter is OK. Plugs and fresh oil do wonders imho. Welcome to the mad house! :D

or you could try http://www.300zxclub.com another US site, huge but covers all topics.
  7. Forgot to say Very COOL:cool:  http://www.300zxclub.com/images/smilies/burnout.gif
  8. Why is the histogram line for black red and the line for red yellow? Anyway what about metaflake orange!!!!:D :D ;)
  9. Yep! H1 - Main beam H3C - Dip, you can get them from PIAA, 85W ( 55w draw) super white. H3 - Fog
  10. J spec wheels are only 7.5 wide so 225 are really max width. UK cars are 8.5 at rear, so can take 245 width. Check with tyre manufacturer recommendations before buying.
  11. Nix, by the way they are H3 bulbs not H1, and you have to change the spade connector on the new ones to a bullet type. Cut and splice the old ones to the new bulbs. Worked for me. Also best to use 55w with the 50% brighter output Phirrips I thinK.
  12. Ah!, so thats how they do it. Thanks Anyway works for me, thats why it cost about £145 then.
  13. the limiter is on the speedo sender to the ECU, so if you remove that, which is what I understand they do then it you can max away! Annyway it seems to have worked.
  14. I have had indicated 145 on mine, same ECU, pulling close on 6k revs. so seemed about right!
  15. Have you tried anybody local to you that has a Zed that could have a look, Try http://www.300zxclub.com in good old USA! Somebody their may be able to help?
  16. I agree, sounds like a fuel cut off problem associated with an immobiliser. I had this when mine was fitted, wire came adrift. everything was ok except would not start - loose wire on immob! Found it after a couple hours though.
  17. Jap cars limited to 112/115 I think, so if you get to that it will not go any further and you wil hear a ping ping noise similar to lights left on warning. De- limit can be done through speedo conversion nad reset cruise at same time.
  18. Have you checked fuel is getting through!
  19. Has it been de-limited. If it has not then you can reset the cruise at the same, but suggest you get a specialist to do this. Cost me about £140 to get speedo changed and delimit done.
  20. From Car and driver 12/94 0 to 60 is 6.8 thats for a 95 model as this an american mag i assume this for an auto? I think standard TT are in the 5.5 to 5.9 range I have not got full article.
  21. I've got it too. but generally only when its cold, i.e. below 10C, when it warms up inside it goes? Ive greased, oiled, wd40 everything in site but to no avail. will try Jacks idea of spraying inside screen/dash.
  22. Hi, just tried NU Direct and got a result too! £385.96 Full comp.+pncb+business use+wife, incl. courtesy car, legal assist , personal accident cover, £120 excess. Got 7 points but full ncb ,wife's got 3 points+ claim! paid £750 last year with, guess who, NU Club. This is for jap import NA 1991, apparently they no longer penalise imports anymore! I am 50, so i suppose this helps. I wonder if SAGA do imports? Worth a try and ask for extra discount if you take it now, I did and got extra £30 off!!
  23. Well we met, 5 of us, one forgot to bring a Zed. So there were 4 zeds down by the river side. Good chat etc. Thanks to Brittonic ( Carl), Emero (Dianne), Sedgeworth, and Bagins for turning up. All agreed a good Venue for a meet, a pity more did not turn up. Will try again later in the year. At least we can put some names to faces. :) :D :D :)  Took some photos but can't attach. Membership subs on their way then. Dianne you really must get you pipes cleaned. Next local meet will be at the Japfest on 17th May at Castle Coombe. Hope to see you there.
  24. Falkens have them, which I have, in fact I think most performance tyres do.
