Cars which the zed should be cautious of....
You wouldn't' stand a chance against a Mercedes Sprinter Box Van, everyone knows thay can kick the arse of anything on the road! Shouldn't that be a "WHITE" van. Also the old astramax is pretty hot! Seriously the new Masserati Coupe or the odd Noble, TVR should keep you busy.

headlight bulbs again
Have seen the cost of a HID upgrade £300+ Well I know you have to have the eyes of a cat or the sonar of a bat to drive at any sort of speed at night. So like many if you with Jap imports I have started to look at the options. Main beam - no prob. H1 bulb - halfords or any upgrade to 100w or 130w. Dip beam -prob. H3C not common, but you can get 65w easily from your friendly motorshop dealer -they are made by guardian ref.456c. However not really bright enough.Found out that PIAA do the super white 85w at a price wait for £24 each see site. http://www.piaa.co.uk/catalog/Bulb%20Section/superwhite.htm again further research and have found them at $10.95 from classicgarage.com so may order from there. Fog light - no prob. H3 - Halfords again, any upgrade will do , you just have to change the wire connector end to the original with an inline connector. any body tried the above or got any other thoughts. ;) :p

can't get my key out of the ignition help!
This also happened to me. There is a link to the auto box. It must be in park to let you take the key out when you press the button, this activates a solenoid in the lock which relaeses a pin to let the button move. This is a safety feature!? Now in my case all I did was wiggle the gear lever a few times as it was not making the right connection, push the lever hard into park! Failing this the solenoid may have given up. In this case you may have to permanently keep th epin disengaged with an elastic band or wire! Worth a try

Air Flow Meter
OK, sorry about delay in letting you Know how things were going. The car is now running OK, and put new boots on too. ( Falken 451). I digress, After changing AFM and it not making any difference, they went back to the wiring and chased back the spurious voltage readings from the ECU,s and guess what, water had got in to the main connector block under the dashboard. Water from the drain pipe to the roof, which runs down the A pillar, and supposed to discharge to the outside didn't and was letting water drip onto the wires and run into the connector! So, I can now return the AFM to Andy, let me know where to send and I will post asap. Once again thanks for your help. Moral - check the simple if not obvious things first!

But jap spec wheels are normally 7.5ins wide mine are 8.5 ins. so I could put 245 on rear? or both front and rear if thats any advantage in the grip stakes. Got a price for BF goodrich 225 50 - £80 .................. 245 45 - £95 Dunlop Sport about +£20

Japimport, so I presume wheels jap. They are the standard 300 alloy wheels profile. I know most of you recommend Toyo Proxies but anybody know anything about BF goodrich on Zed. I have Dunlop Sport 200 at the moment which are pretty good for grip and wear.

I may have found an ECU from zxparts@mindspring.com in the good old usa. It is a US spec. one, does anyone know if it would be OK for a jap import? The price is reasonable @ $200 + $20 shipping and takes 6- 7 days. They say its gauranteed, testedwith 30 day money back.

Air Flow Meter
Has anybody got an air flow meter for a 91 auto na import, as I understand this could be causing my problem with the revs dying off at 2000 or so. Or has anybody got any other clues. ECU diog is clear?
-
For sale..........
ok MAC 1, I give in, whats an AFM, and how did you resolve the problem?
-
ECU wanted
Ammar, thanks, but I think they must be different, powermapping and all that. Still looking though a new one from Nissan is Gulp £960.00 plus vat and takes two to three weeks.

For sale..........
what does the ptu do. I have a problem with my 91 na auto, see post on ecu wanted. My garage thinks its the ecu hence the post looking for a replacement. Its electrical, it revs ok to 2000 then hesitates, dies then comes back very quickly, sort cyclic. the power light 16 times, the diagnostic check says its the throttle sensor, but imput and out from auto ecu is ok, but output fron management ecu to gearbox is wrong, too high voltage. would this have anything to do with the ptu and another thing my horn keeps going off by its self, any clues?
