How did that happen then, supposedly a very strong diff. I'm guessing failed gasket excessive wear?

On the subject of diffs, can any decent mechanic fit a lower ratio gear set to a diff? Like the 4:10 leader Gear set?

So what blew the casing off, the pressure? I always thought that all the bits in the diff exploded and smashed the casing.

Drifting!!! and hit a kerb with the drivers side back wheel and smashed suspension so hard the force shattered the dif casing, trouble is the owner had left the zed at a garage.... yikes!

That Z looks like it was dragged out of the Mariana Trench!

 

Alas, my '93 UK TT looks similar, everything underneath is coated a layer (or two) of rust :blushing:

I was thinking the same but didn't want to add insult to injury.

Was actually as a body shop and they clearly thought it a good idea to play on the car park! as I understand it they had to pay the owner for the car.

Well been abandoned outside for three or four years....... water got in everywhere mad thing is the engine is sweat as it can be??
