  • We did a video earlier this week, the Z hasn't been out the garage since July 2020. So happy for this, this is miles away from professional video, and the guy who helped me with the drone and editing,

Today nothing, but I did take the Zed out for a little drive the other day - and stopped for a couple of pics. Any excuse 😉

Love it, I miss using mine as a daily! As I take the train to work now, none of my cars get any use. A tank of petrol in the subaru lasts 3 months, the mx5 hasnt been used since march and has a flat battery and the TT gets used once a week to go shopping! 😁

Cant wait for Sunday to get the zed out and drive!

Sometimes it just has to be done..... I open the garage and see the Zed sitting there - and no matter how long it's been since the last drive, I just know it's begging to come out for a blast. So I sigh and comply - rude not to LOL 😄

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

Had a little time today seen a though I couldn't make the 300 meet as the car isn't quite running right

Changed the rear reg plate harness as the bulb holder was crumbling away so only 1 light was working20230730_111641.jpg.51b8ea676647e7c79fbb799e60e54642.jpg

Also fitted a new rear number plate backplate which apparently is pretty rare with "nissan" writing from japan.

Topped up the coolant and bought some new battery tie rods as the oem ones were too short for my new battery.

Also need to jack the car up again today and remove the exhaust as the lambda sensor mounts are wrong.

The location that's been drilled for them is way too low.

Update on this, taken exhaust pipes back off and dropped them at a local welder to put some new ports on.

Moved position closer to drive shaft and pointing up.

A few months ago now, when getting an MOT for the Z, the tester left the jacking pads wound up on the sliding jack that sits under the 4 poster lift. Consequently, when the car was reversed off, the jacks were at the perfect height to catch my front bumper lip. 🤦🏻‍♂️

Luckily it was at a very low speed so no structural damage was done to the bumper, however the deflection exceeded the flex of the paint! Some hairline cracks in the paint appeared around the arrested areas so it was off to the bodyshop to refinish.

Fast forward missing the AGM, a drive out with Vig and Andrew (in the Z at least), Simply Japanese, some local shows, cars and coffee and I finally have the car back, almost in 1 piece!

Just the pin stripes and clusters to go on and it’s good to go again. 😎

Mine has been in garage for wheel balancing as had vibration (felt from rear) at 50-60mph and a lot of road noise.

Three needed doing, one was quite bad apparently and the road noise is much better but still getting vibration.

Replaced both OEM windscreen washer motors which (in my experience) are prone to seal failure and leak washer fluid onto the floor.

Bought a pair of Trico aftermarket motors from the US. These are the exact same size as the OEM units and pop into place. I reused

the short motor harnesses/plugs to wire up the motors to the existing body harness.

For reference:

Front washer motor: chassis/body harness plug LG/B (light green/black) wire is Acc switched +12v, P (pink) is switched ground signal.

Rear washer motor:  chassis/body harness plug LG (light green) wire is Acc switched +12v, LG/B (light green/black) is switched ground signal.

Nice work Andrew - and thanks for sharing....! I just popped out to my garage only to find the Zed had dumped its washer fluid all over the floor 😞

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

Had a small coolant leak too which resulted in loosing about 1/2 a litre on the floor so let it cool down,

After i could handle the pipes I tightened everything up and we are good to go again.

Engine now up to temperature and a slight rattle from the upper left but should be ok after the oil is run through for a bit.

Has a weird power steering issue today when trying to load my zed onto the trailer.

Every time i made a hard left or right turn the engine stalled.

Not sure if the belt is on too tight but on checking the PAS Pot the fluid in there didn't look nice so i took the front bumper off and drained the pipes of what i could.

Quick refill and refit the bumper and all was well again and it never happened again.

Not sure if the fluid was contaminated or had an airlock but it feels better now.
