  • We did a video earlier this week, the Z hasn't been out the garage since July 2020. So happy for this, this is miles away from professional video, and the guy who helped me with the drone and editing,

Today nothing, but I did take the Zed out for a little drive the other day - and stopped for a couple of pics. Any excuse 😉

Just got back from a snowy drive to see Keith & picked up a few parts he's sprayed for me. Impul skirts & door fillers for the lwb, & boot lid for the swb. Manage to prise the central 20 spoiler out of his hands too.

Nice one Tom!! :punk:

I wish you lot would grab a pic or two of my car when you’re over there, I’m having awful separation issues:lol:

Love the Central 20 spoiler, nearly went for one myself about 10 years ago. Looking forward to seeing it fitted. :)

Drove my 300zx to work this morning and it was a great feeling. It certainly stands out from all the euro boxes out their. :)

Same yesterday! If only the weather would improve now.

Nice and sunny here this morning Jay but gives rain later.

Nice enough here too, but still grit all over the roads. Had to stop and hose it down on my way home.

Yeah there's a shit load of salt on the roads down south, looking forward to a day of heavy rain to wash it all away. I am desperate to get my Z out, but it really isn't worth it. My Merc needs a new windscreen now from flying rocksalt, easy to get hold of, Z glass is a minimum of 8 weeks.

My Classic car insurance with FootmanJames is up for renewal on the 9th April and I got a quote for the renewal that is just over £100 more than last year!!! Will not be taking that on and how do they come to such a high quote. Sometimes I just think they pick a number and double it.

Mine hasn't gone up at all in the past 5 years. Maybe a few quid, but nothing I notice.

£100 isn't much, but I guess when you're Insurance is only £200 a year, that's a 50% increase which is unjustifiable.

I have done quite a bit today.... I washed and dried her, cut off 3 green connectors for the idle air circuit and re-soldered and heat shrunk in 3 brand new connectors I picked up.....

And it cured bugger all..... but it did make the stalling intermittent, the revs suddenly jumped to 1500 at one point and the AAC valve seems to be doing nothing at all.....

So going to be swapping it out for another tomorrow.....

But she does now look nice and shiny and will be polished tomorrow when it is light again.......

Looking forward to trying to get to a meet this weekend and trying not to get a ride on a low loader for a change........ lol

Watching my Z disintegrate on my driveway!!!

Today I Finally decided to put my original wings back on after the lovely vented wings..lol are being trashed unless anyone wants them for free.. yes free.! Replacing front bumper with 89 spec twin turbo with stillen lip which I purchased about 4 years ago. I couldn’t decide if I liked it but now am going with it.

Hi Andrew, yeah not been around much and the 300 not been used much for the last couple of years and I just couldn’t decide if I liked the lip or not. This year I’ve decided to go with and get ready for summer and hopefully enjoy it and get involved with club abit more.

Christ. It must be a few years since I was stood in that garage having that exact conversation with you.

Hi Stephen, yeah I don’t like to rush these things lol

Ordered a brand new pair of Bosch horns from a P12 Primera through allcarpartsfast as one of mine has stopped working. They use the same single-pin connector and they weren't that expensive. You can buy cheap ones on ebay, but I just fancied these as I know they'll last and I don't have to add an earth terminal. I have another pair that I bought second hand that I have cleaned up and painted the metal backing with if anyone wants them (gratis). They're a direct swap for the weedy little horns that come as standard on the Z32.

Could I have them Si?? My originals are rusted and I bought the Cheap ebay ones, wouldn't hurt to have a proper set.

I got my starter motor back from overhaul today in the hope that it would cure my intermittent non-starting issue. It turns out that the clutch mechanism for the pinion gear was defective and so with replacement of all the components, the old girl is back to full fighting strength. It cost £132 from London and Essex Auto Electrics in North Weald.

Hope it lasts! Surprised you didn't buy a new one. You're as bad as me....well, almost.

I then moved on to troubleshoot the whining noise from the engine making it sound supercharged! My hunch was an alternator bearing but, having de-tensioned the belt and started the car, the noise remained. So I restored that back to normal and moved on to the A/C compressor, loosened the belt and hey presto, the noise stopped!

My initial thoughts were: bugger! However having removed the belt I tried the pulley and it spun smoothly and freely, I then moved down to the tensioner/idler pulley and it was like the bearings were made of sand papers and lumps of granite! I’ve managed to source a bearing and will take the pulley to work tonight and see if I can press it out. I much prefer the idea of a £5 bearing over the pulley assembly which is around £150!
