MOT time is not normally as issue with my clean rust free low annual miles slicktop. My MOT testers are well used to the car. Last year he commented that the emission reading was "close" to the testing limit. Well its going to be on a modded car which is set to avoid the danger of going lean anywhere at any moment. So today My pal Steve helped me create an "MOT" map on the multimap option Emerald ECU I use. Its just a copy n paste of the real map but at anything from 750 revs up to 2500(MOT fast idle test revs) he has taken out 3/4 points on the fuel. Where can I take a live from under the bonnet & have the on off switch in the front console.?

If a twin turbo starts smoking when it gets up to temperature as apposed to smoking straight from starting is that just as bad? Worse or better? I'm assuming they need replacing regardless, I'm also guessing this is an engine out job. So my last question does anyone have stock turbos or upgraded ones sitting around that are good condition that they want to sell? I would want good ones or new as I don't want to pull the engine out more than once. Also while its out, I was planning on cleaning up the engine bay and I've heard there are a few mods that can be done, what are they? I know this is all a bit vague, but trying to work out the best step forward…

Any good suggestions for a wide arch kit? I used to like the TwinZ stuff but I'm assuming in the last 5 years they still haven't sorted out a UK distributor? Can anyone suggest any other kits available in the UK? thanks

Was there some a case of some kind of clever headlights that dim themselver according to how bright it is outside? My machanic is saying there are selenoids in my headlights. They are 1990 uk spec ones

So I'm replacing my timing belt kit on my 1994 300zx with 150k miles or 243k kilometres, so I'm wondering can I go out and buy any old timing belt or are they mileage specific (first car not sure) because it would really suck to buy the wrong one, also does anyone have any suggestions on what brand of kit I should get

Spoke to another zed member in Beaulieu the other week about this colour match. Well I found this company in Ashford called LKG Coatings. Their specialist came out with an electronic reader which he took three readings from my Zeds bonnet. Here's what I got! A ground coat & a pearl coat both HK6 on the can. Can't imagine the ground coat been a normal grey base coat. Nissan pearl code is HK6G Just for your information !

I know some people at a previous meet were asking how to remove these mouldings, so this is how to remove them whilst dismantling as little as possible. Here is the location of the 5 screws needed to remove. The centre three bolts are covered by the plastic trim: Two of them have a conveniently placed hump: And the last one you have to drill in the general area, half way in the gap: The screws have a washer with diameter 1cm so a hole bigger than that would be best, you probably don't want to drop then in the cavity as you will have a rattle forever more... That should give you access to all the screws for the weatherstrip clip :) …

Hey guys, I have found some power steering fluid leaking from the bottom of the power steering solenoid. Will it be worth replacing a simple gasket? Or do I need a new unit? Thank you Matt

Ok shown some of the pics from other meets in Armacao du Pera, but this one a little different... a brand new first a Nissan 300zx and a stunningly stock one albeit exhaust and coil overs, the finish and trim quality along with the paint for such a hot country was amazing, and yes was our very own forum member here João !! nice to meet you and chat about your zed, nice purchase buddy...enjoy the pics guys >> Jeff

I,m getting an intermittent misfire ( or partial misfire??) I' ve been playing with conzult and reading the service manual , but cant work out how to tell which cylinder the problem is with Conzult has just given me lots more questions to ask, once i work out how to post pictures now photobucket doesnt work

I,ve been searching both versions of the service manual but cant find the connector pin out for the switch that folds the mirrors in I have found the adjusting the mirror info, but cant see folding Can anyone better at this point to the right page?

Hi everyone. Looking for advice about buying a 3000zx manual gearbox ca 1990-1993. Which are the weak points that I should look out for?

If you've been following some other thread of mine, you'll know i've got a misfire , its the middle plug on the drivers side. i've whipped the plug out and the piccy is below, is there anything i can gather from the state of the plug which might lead me to the reason for the misfire. Also the other piccy shows a pipe was disconnected i've no idea what this does so any tell me what would happen if it not connected. Thanks

Having timing issues with my car. Not a huge electrical genius so be gentle please! The timing is set to 15 btdc after I rebuilt the engine a couple months ago when i start it, It can't hold it's idle and dies if i leave it, but if you hold the throttle open and steady it's revs it runs fine, but the timing is jumping all over the place Now when i crank to start it runs 15 fine, but once started and still warm the timing goes completely erratic, going to 40-50 to maybe 20ish but never settles back to 15. Is this a CAS issue? Has a speciality Z chip so can't imagine that's at fault. Or maybe something else to blame?

Hi Guys, The cars been going okay since i changed the part at the end of the wiring loom in front of the fan, cant remember its name for the life of me. But now its started to misfire again, i'm slowly going up the wall, One thing that i changed on my merc when it misfired was the Air flow sensor, Something i've not thought of changing in the Zed. Anyone got one or can recommend a place, cars a series 1 '90 N/A Auto. Shouldn't have got rid of my spare one... Rich

Im stripping my targa ready for a respray how do the trims that go up the side of the windscreen and over the roof come off? Same with the piece between the targa tops?

Hi all, I have a block that I purchased some time ago, but unsure of the year of vehicle that it came out of. The serial number is VG30 048929 N Does anyone know if there is a reference site where you can date the engine just from the serial number? Many thanks in advance :-)
