Picture the scene, I'm hoofing down some back lanes, feet dancing on the pedals, hands a whirl on the wheel, coolant dripping unseen from the heater ducts... anyway I conclude my drive, cool down, park up, shut off and am stunned by the sheer amount of crud I have all over my hands. Time for a new steering wheel, or one of those natty Halfrauds covers. I chance upon a gentleman on Facebook breaking a Z but 4 miles from my home. I turn up at his place, pay a very reasonable sum and leave with, amongst other things, a less un-shiny steering wheel. Mediocre at best, but not split and shedding crusty black bits everywhere. I jolly on home, swag in hand, gr…

Yep can tell I am new to 300 ownership! I cant work out the Heating/Fan controls on the car at all! I can get air up at the Screen and thats it. I cant work out how you get air to come out the cabin vents? I wouldnt have posted something as silly as this but a mate of mine had a look at the weekend and couldnt work it out either so now I feel less silly!

Hi folks, my TT has a very occasional miss, most often occuring when cold no worse on or off boost just hits now and again. Now I haven't had chance to go into diagnosis mode and check compression etc. but from my experience coilpacks are a known failure point on many older cars and the Z's of the age where it's definitely a likely candidate. So my question is this, can you buy splitfires for the Z like you can the RB engines? and see the PTU, can it be upgraded, or can you buy the S2 new?

I'm only a few months late in getting started on this group buy work, but it will be starting next month. :) There is, however, now a catch for all of those involved... As many will no doubt be aware, my name has not been spoken in a nice manner at LA Autos in Shrewsbury for quite a while now. Mr Lee Dent has been incredibly vocal regarding both me personally and my business. This seems to have culminated in threats being made (to third parties, obviously) a couple of months ago. Call me suspicious if you will, but I can't help that think if someone turned up at his place to have work done with a lovely new interior in their Zed (courtesy of me), he could see an…

What are people using on here now days for increased power for basic mods and around 14 psi boost? I have read a lot of older threads but nothing too recent about this. I see that Protuner is the best place to go for a custom map. As for chips I read that Turbonoz chips are good and still seems to be available from the Turbonoz website. Has any current member used the Turbonoz chip or can recommend another which is readily available?

Evening everyone I took the car out for a small drive the other day and noticed one of the injectors making a lot of noise. After about ten minutes is started to quieten down and another minute later it was silent. I've had a small amount of noise from injectors in my other 300 but this was very loud. Is it a sign there's a big problem coming my way, will fuel system cleaning additive help, will I need to replace the injectors? Any other input welcome. Cheers, Chris.

Hi, Ive bought a 92 TT auto just over a month ago. Its not done much mileage since it was imported 15 years ago and needs some maintenance on it, to turn it into a daily commuter (8 miles a day), and I was just looking for some advice. From what I can see the car needs new tyres, brake and the cam belt doing. Can anyone recommend decent pads and discs for road use. Ive seen the brembo front pads and pagid discs, and pagid rear disc and pads on euro car parts, and was wondering whether it would be advisable to put money towards ebc redstuff pads and discs, or tarox discs. And is it worth paying for drilled/grooved over standard brakes for fast road use? Im a…

I am in the process of a Auto-Manual gearbox conversion on my Nissan 300 I have made a thread about needing a clutch pedal but when I was asked turbo or non turbo I hit a brickwall and need some input Its getting kind of complicated, and the person I bought the box off dident give me the clutch pedal, so I'm going to text him about that but I'm not relying on getting one from him anyway the car is a 1995 Japanese Non Turbo Auto model, the gearbox is shot so its being replaced with a Manual gearbox which came off a turbo car , and is being fitted with a brand new turbo clutch and flywheel which matches up fine, however upon investigation it looks like the bo…

Sparked from Tom's thread, I've realised a lot of people (i think) don't think of these engines as holding a lot of power. Of course someone can correct me on anything. I always think of these engines as vastly underrated. They can hold 550bhp stock bottom end 'reliably' (rb26 and 2jz realms) and sometimes stories of 900hp cars on stock bottom ends (which wouldnt last long), it has loads more torque than an rb to the same spec has (see: http://forums.hybridz.org/topic/28207-vg30dett-vs-rb26dett/). VGs have cast iron blocks, which although heavy are incredibly strong and are nearly never the first things to break. In our world you can buy a TT engine for around £…

I have a total 180 degree disagreement with my cousin, regarding his R33 GTST Skyline That one ^^^ He is doing a big rebuild on his car and has the engine out... I helped him do it... it was minus 5 and he lowered it onto my hand :-# Anyway, here is the main disagreement we're having, He wants to crack open a 70'000 mile perfectly functional stock RB25 and replace internals, possibly stroking it and all sorts. Whereas I think he should leave it alone. In my opinion as I have done with my zed, he should replace everything supporting the engine, radiators, alternators, oil and fuel pumps, etc etc, and get all the life out of the original engine that he …

I went to visit my Nan today and noticed she had a copy of MP sitting on the coffee table. Turns out my Gramps found it while clearing out my old bedroom, been 18 years since I last stayed there. Thank god he didn't find any of my other "reading" material. Anyway I've attached pictures of the article. Enjoy!!! If the owner of the car is on here I'd be happy to send you the mag. Edit (rotated the photos but the original ones are still there and I can't seem to delete them)

I recently inspected a '88 Nissan 300ZX 2+2 ( E832YAK ) for a prospective purchaser, being sold by Modern Classics ( owner is also a salesman at Motor Hub who major on write offs and imports ; check their comments ! ) The car is shamefully different from the description being given and works recently undertaken to get it on the road are nothing short of disgraceful ; there is also no functioning handbrake Major issue is that the car has been grounded ( speed hump ) and front wings inner and out, near and offside have been caved in and crudely patched Whatever you do inspect this car from underneath
