Hey guys fitted my new Nishiobo front discs and pads today and guess what ............ they have cured the brake judder and shake at 70 mph completely in fact the whole experience of braking at any speed is so much smoother no pulsing when slowing at a junction etc.seems the old discs must of got real bad without me realising. Now got to go slow, brake gentle etc to bed them in, At present they seem ok will update as some mileage is added to them. Jeff TT

Was travelling back from the Isle of Cheese and in Northampton coming up thru the mad roundabout section there was a convertible XKR behind me. Now then, I didnt want to race because I had Barry White playing on the in car mp3 widget, but He comes flying up behind me on the dual carraigeway so we cruise up towards the next roundabout and i drop into second and navigate the roundabout at 40ish with this [Fabrizio Ravanelli lookalike) right up me greddy-pipes, so I floor it out of the roundabout and hit the rev limiter (feck me i didnt know i even had one) and wack it quicklike into third, spooling upto treble miles an hour and this ploink is not keeping up with me?? I…

Right, have just been on me old mate Phuongs' website over the pond and he's running a nifty little sale on Brembo discs, drilled at Stillen with all the gubbins to boot! I've already enquired about shipping costs coz this lot will be heavy...as soon as he's mailed me back I'll let you know. But I had a Techtom and an ASP underdrive pulley from him recently and the box was large and quite heavy. But didn't get stung, paid £32 for the lot...result! Price is $580 which at todays exchange rate equalled £407.069 GBP...not bad eh? Check it! Got Brakes? Tim ;-) [This message has been edited by Timmy_Turbo (edited 31-07-2001).]

I just wondered if anyone has ever heard of anything like a warning lamp for the detonation circuit. After my recent scare, it occured to me that since I have an avc-r, that if my ecu recognized detionation, that it would not go into safety boost, but the timing would be retarded (which I did not notice. Would it be easy to wire up some sort of warning l.e.d to tell me that something is up. I suppose the only other way is to do a regular ecu diagnostic run. Does a Tectom or any other device give warnings? Cheers Vijay

Vijay, Sorry to hear about your misfortunes with regards to your underpanelling. My left front panel has also been damaged and was dragging along the road (have it secure now with some wire). I want to replace all three panels as soon as possible. If you still need some, perhaps we can do some sort of group buy. Let me know if you're interested. Cheers m8! What's the longest that you've been without yer Z then? Reason for me asking is that I'm taking alot of flack at the moment for mine being MIA for so long. But some of us have had considerably long spells without their monster! I know Warrens car was off the road in Spaghetti land after crapping out on him big time outside a PizzaHutta...mamma mia! Nico, yourZ must have been off the road for a while now aswell? Tim ;-)

OK.. Started ringing round for insurance today.. Goddamn they take the p1ss on imports don't they? So.. I might have to go for a UK car (unless some miracle happens, or I decide f*ck it and pay £1750 for TPF&T).. What's the best way to tell the difference between an import & a UK car? Sorry for the dumb question ------------------ Az

Got my car back from Nissan, 2 questions: 1) They machined the discs and put new pads on all 4 wheels, when the car has stopped and I let the brake off lightly the brakes tend to make a rubbing noise, is this cause I havent worn the pads in long enough? 2) they replaced the airflow meter to fix my hesitation problem, now I mainly seem to have hesitation and erratic revving when the engine is cold, any ideas?

As we've all seen the previous posts on front end braking shake, mine aswell. I still can't solve my cars. I've had 4 wheel laser alignment, discs skimmed (both sides at once)! wheels checked, And today had the hubs & discs clocked on the car, pads 8-9mm on and re-champerd. All is ok, but the cars still very eratic under long bracking 70 down to 30 or so. When I have to stop quicker its fine! Could it be the 2" ish rubber bush on the brace arm worn, making the wheels tuck in or out under braking. Or any of the steering bushes wearing that would cause this. Its getting expensive having work done with no result, and I'm running out of ideas. Need hel…
