Yep, it arrived.. OK now I know it's anyones guess as to how accurate it is right now, since my Renault has never seen a dyno in its life, but I tested it tonight (handy sliproad!), pumped in the various figures you need (gear ratios, car weight, drag coefficient, frontal area, air temp, humidity, pressure, tyre size), and ran the test.. Came out with 127hp at the wheels, assuming ~15% drivetrain losses that would be 149bhp at the crank - stock is 137bhp, I have a filter, straight through exhaust, and hill power chip, which is probably ~10 or 15hp over stock tops, so I reckon it's not that far out really.. here's a pretty graph; http://www.mind-design.co.uk…

Mu gearbox may be on it's way out. Any Idea how much I could expect to pay for a replacement and fitting ? Herman

Take a look :- http://www.mr2.com/TEXT/oil_filter_test.html Now I know this is Toymota orientated and I don't know who makes the filters for Nissan, but you can bet that it's not Nissan themselves. This test would suggest that Champion are clear leaders. And the Champion part number for a 300zx is C109 - I know because I put a new one on my car a week and a half ago ....

If anyone is interested I am trying to arrange a group buy on a complete bush kit. The kit is made by Energy Suspension, and is designed specifically for the 300ZX TT. Here the blurb:- Hyper-Flex Master Set, includes: Front lower Control Arm Bushings, Front Strut Rod Bushings, Front and Rear Sway Bar frame Bushings, Rack & Pinion Bushings, Rear Sub Frame Bushings, Rear Differential Carrier Bushings) Measure the diamter of your rear sway bar before ordering. The cost without a group buy is $140 plus shipping, and I guess the dreaded tax when it reaches our shores. I am currently trying to get a discount for a group buy. Anyone interested?? …

Does anyone know how to test the crank angle sensor is faulty. I have run the ecu diag, code 11 which points to the sensor. I want to test it with another method before I shell out the money for a new one. I've just bought the car driven it 60 miles! now the car won't fire up!!?? argghh

Check that your fuel pump voltage regulator isn't knackered, I had the same problem & it took me months to find it! If you (or get someone else to) check the voltage on the fuel pump motor supply wires, the voltage should be about 10 volts when you first start the car but will then drop to 6-7 volts. If it's 2-3 volts then the voltage regulator box is knackered! This is located behind the rear passenger side quarter panel trim. If you need one, I've got a spare that you could have for a small fee. Shaun

Any one heard of them? Got a turbo timer that isn't working and could do with a site or stockist details. Ant ideas. Mark

My god, I'm impressed...a company that says they'll have yer car fixed in two weeks and by christ they've done just that!!! Not collecting it until the New Year though and as usual, getting the bill in specifics e.g. total is a quest in itself! So to sum up, rear seal has been sorted, and ATF tube replaced! So they say!!! When I asked what was wrong? Clutches burnt out and torque convertor had gone West also...thoughts and opinions??? If I get it back and I still have vibration then I ain't driving it until I get the prop sorted! As far as I'm concerned now it becomes a weekend plaything! No where near reliable enough to do 500 miles round trip …

Was resetting ECU after cleaning throtle bodies and when I re-connected battery turbo timer is no longer working, in that it won't power up. Its made by a company called starbo (who????) just wondered if anybody had any ideas. There doesn't seem to be a reset switch, but there is a switch on the back labeled - IGP ADJ. If I can get it working again does anybody have any ideas on how to programme it. I have manged to get it to swith the engine off after given time but thats it. Thanks for any help you can offer. Mark

After my recent postings about hesitation on my 90 J'Spec TT, I thought I'd cured the problems, I found, and fixed, the fuel leak. Cleanded the throttle position connectors, now, however the hesitation is getting worse. It sometimes refuses to start cleanly, with an irratic tickover eventually dying, then, when it does seem to sort itself, 200 yds down the road I lose all power, lift the throttle and the tick over is steady but as soon as I apply some throttle it splutters all over the place. Can someone please help, a step by step check would be excellent, I'm not a monkey but I'm not that familiar with the electrics on my Z yet. It's due for a 60K service…

I'm led to believe that its quite normal, this noise seems to me a bit loud and naff sounding,by the way it was just as loud with standard airbox, is there a way of reducing the noise or stopping it, I'm assuming its the recirc valves making the noise.
