When I brake hard I get steering vibration, which gets worse the harder I brake, so I’m thinking the front disks are becoming warped. I’m going to use this opportunity to upgrade the disks; can anyone recommend a suitable replacement for use with the original calipers? CheerZ Herman

My '91ZX has gradually suffered from a reduction in the number of miles I get from the rear tyres, until now its down to only a few thousand miles. Has anyone suffered anything similar, I have tried different makes of tyres but found only a negligible difference, with last set being Pirellis only giving me 2000 miles. Ash My driving is mainly motorway and in rush hour traffic, so isn't anything too ridiculous !!

Something on the interior trim of my Zed has been rattling like a b@st@rd recently and driving me absolutely insane and this weekend I finally fixed the little sucker - hurrah ! There were two problems, firstly the upper rear seat belt mountings have a metal plate through which the webbing runs, this was vibrating and causing one of the rattles. I removed the bolt and put a thin rubber o-ring in just to take up the slack. Secondly, in the boot, the cover for access to the rear lights had become loose over the years and so I used an inch or two of that 5mm thick sticky draught insulating stuff (that normally goes around window frames), once again to take up the slack…

I have a set. Theyre a lightweight ally, 17" 9 or 9.5j on the back and 8.5j fronts. Spoke with Johnny from gps about them and he told me that theyre £800 each new. They have decent rubber on too. They are a 3 piece split rim with 5 spokes painted black and polished dish. The backs have a deeper dish then the fronts. They got studs running round the edge of the rim and aslo round the centre caps. Will post some pics up soon. At 1500 ono squids, theyre a fraction of the price of what they wud cost new.

Dear All Thank you for your prompt responses to my last message. It is nice to be talking to people who share the same interest and know what they are talking about through experience. Z32s Are pretty sparce in Swindon. My next question is how reliable are stock UK Z32 TTs from when they were first produced to cease of UK production? Are there any major things to look for in each year of production? Regards MJ

Hi all, Having been to the AutoSport exhibition at the NEC last Friday I saw a fair amount of aftermarket mirrors with integrated indicators (a la Merc). Most of them were M3 stylee jobbies but I did see a couple of other types as well. Unfortunately none look like they will be a simple replacement for our standard Z mirrors. This reminded me that quite a few months ago I saw a pic on this forum of a Zed (in Japan)with standard mirrors but with integrated indicators Does anyone else remember seeing that pic and if so can you point me in the right direction as to where to find the real thing. I'm not interested in non-standard mirrors (like the M3 type). Thanks…

Sorry to use the forum for this.. But Glen (Senna) did you get my email about the centre console bit? You never replied you see, and I did wonder if your mail redirector might have thrown a wobbly at "strangemovinghousebloke@turboz.co.uk" Cheers..

Just wondered if someone would like to have a look at http://www.mind-design.co.uk/atf_cooler.htm and tell me what they think of the style of the article? I know it's not quite complete yet - no pictures and I haven't done the diagram of the brackets, but let me know if you (so particularily non-techies here ) can follow my style of writing etc.. Did I make it too technical, not enough detail, etc etc.. Oh yeah - comments on the website in general are also welcome.. I think.. Cheers Az [This message has been edited by aaronjb (edited 13-01-2002).]

Just like lots of people here my TTAuto has what feels like a transmission vibration around 40 -50mph most noticable when very cold such as after a week or two idle. This vib seems to almost go when warm. I've seen people write about centre bearing, gear box mount sag, turning shaft throught quarter turns and others moving to a one piece shaft. Even tension rod bushes have been blamed. Has anybody got to a true fix without going to a one piece or is this one of those Z problems that you have to learn to live with?

Hi, Was wondering if anyone has changed the kingpin bearings in their car? Just wondering if there is anything particularly awkward about it. Cheers

After re-fitting my ECU the Z is dead! On turning the key the red diagnostic LED comes on and stays on. Is this right or should it go off/flash? I replaced the ECU chip with another (known good) chip but it didn't work. Tried putting the original back and it's still the same. I've done this a few times before with no problems. I hope it's just a loose wire somewhere...

I bought my alarm for my car a Meta M99 to go with my Meta M36 T2 imobiliser, to up it to a CAT 1 Alarm/imobiliser. The imobiliser was already on the car when I bought it, so that is why I went for that alarm. Any way, I had it put in, great, there are a few features that I would like to have on it, like a panic button to set the alarm off when people are near it. Kids mostly. But there isnt one. Anyway. I get my car with the alarm fitted, but straight away I notice that there is very little room near my pedals. The air vent that keeps your feet warm had dropped and I had to use my toes to drive. This was also the same on the passenger side. It has dropped slightly s…

Hello all, Need some advice/help. The bolt that holds the starter motor came out again today. The thread on the actual bolt is fine and it seems as though the thread that the bolt screws into has gone. Can anyone suggest how I can get this bolt to stay in. Cheers Vijay
