I'm looking to buy a welder to use around the house/car etc and need some help on choosing what type, arc/mig/tig. I don't really know the difference, but a friend has said not to bother with an arc welder. Also what's the score with gas and no gas. And what's a turbo welder??? Thanks for any advice, Vijay

Just a thought, has any one else come across the phenomina (can`t spell) that I and other people I have spoken to have noticed, that when the fuel is very low in the car that it seems a little faster ,picking up better too.I have noticed this on my other cars also,is it maybe a fuel injected issue with petrol return / fume wash or oh I dunno really looking for a possible theory. It is often present when I have a passenger so the lower weight of the car is not the answer, over to you guys any thoughts?? Some wise words from Quentin Wilson for a change... SILENCE IN COURT Jan 4 2002 It's the only legal way to beat the speed camera menace IT LOOKS like speed cameras are going to be making the news again this year. Research has shown that their proliferation has damaged relations between public and police and caused bitter resentment among the nation's 30 million motorists. Last year, in an attempt to calm things down, the government did a U-turn and declared that all cameras must be made more visible and sited only on roads with a proven accident history. And the men responsible for the UK's speed camera policy - the Association Of…

Sorry to high jack the forum but a friend of mine has asked me to post this link below after a biker friend of his (Terry Worley) was recently killed on the roads by us in a very nasty rta. The benefit is to raise money as a tribute and money to go to the Air ambulance who tried their best to help this poor sole. Its a tribute band (Queen rocks)and they are performing at a local Rugby club in Lichfield there is a signed Aston Villa shirt to be auction on the night (for the footy guys here) www.brianmay.com 07941 449179 Jeff TT [This message has been edited by Jeff TT (edited 10-01-2002).]

Hi guys and girl, thought i would pass on todays word of wisdom: Following two incident`s yesterday when pulling out and getting that loose back end snaking on relatively dry road I checked my tyre pressure and was gobbed smacked to find them to be around 20psi in all four!! trouble is these low profile tyres we all like, look flat when pumped up correctly so just looking at them they looked ok.I am very concious of maintenance etc so was suprised to get caught like this.Check them pressures out, the stability of the car under the slower driving of late (due to snow and ice) had masked the need to inflate my tyres, BE AWARE a quick blast down the lanes by me confirme…

I have a set of 4 wolfies and I recently purchased a centre cap. Does anyone know how the centre caps are supposed to fit on the wheel? I cannot see any sort of way they can stay on. I have considered that maybe you are meant to pass the centre cap from behind the wheel? I have yet to try this but find it hard to believe that this will leave enough room to undo/redo the bolts. Am I missing some other bit which attaches to them? Thanks.

There is a guy who has assembled all the stats for tons of UK cars into an Excel spreadsheet and done some smart calcs and searching stuff etc. It means you can compare power to weight, torque to weight ratios etc etc. Have a look at :- http://www.shaun.sheppard.btinternet.co.uk/durhamcruises/ukreccars.htm This is the readme.txt that comes with it :- The DervMan's DataSheet 3.2 =========================== Introduction ============ These brief notes will help you to understand what the DataSheet contains and how to get the most from it. Firstly, the DataSheet is in M$ Excel 97 format. If you want it in another format, let me know…

HI guys, had the zed on the rollers yesterday for a tune up and to see what power it's pumping out, the results were 326bhp at the flywheel which isn't to bad but i was expecting a bit more. Blitz sus air filter Superchips ecu Bleed valves removed cats First thing is how can superchips claim their ecu gives you an extra 70bhp when clearly it doesn't. Do you think i should change my ecu? Secondly what exhaused do you think i should get,i want something with a good power increase which wouldn't wake the neighbours at 2.30am when i go to work. regards Andy
