I know technicaly this is a tech question but..... Will US tension rods fit a UK Z? I was looking at THIS and was wondering if it would fit on mine. The tension rod bushes need replacing and this would make the handling better and also have no need for the bushes again. It is also only a little more expensive than the bushes, which I have been told cost £100, and I presume that is for 2. Whats your view? An amusing if slighly unbeleivable yarn concerning Harry Halfords in Tamworth. In my urgency to get a steering rack gaitor to replace the split one I discovered late last afternoon, I (I know its bad) went to my local Halford store to just see if even a tempory universal one was available till got correct one. The spotty geek (who me) on the counter was asked by me if they stocked a listed gaitor or a universal one for the steering rack on a 300zx. ?????? much head scratching a blank look at his pc screen,he said he did not think they sold them.Hmm are you sure I said, more scratching and now button pressing...what car mate? aarrhhh I say Nis 300zx tt !!! Mmm he says …

Info hit following the discovery of a split near side steering rack boot,I checked with Nissan was quoted £14:90+ Vat! (All other outlets said main dealer) Went to my wholesaler and opened about 10 boxes of various boots, and found a likely candidate, think off a Ford or whatever.Back home 30 mins later fitted a treat and better even than the original!!! total cost £4:50 and their was a pair in the box so actually work out at £2:25 each!! something suggests Nelson rip off here again. Hi guys, whilst on a zed bit picking morning cam across the Veilside badge in pic below. It is made of brass and is engraved and coloured in,well nice. The wording however is erm ..odd. Below the veiside bit it reads "We are driving the condition of your heart" Any thoughts guys?do you think it lost something in the translation? oh well by the way saw a minty full system off the car, breaker wants £150 + vat in B.ham Also at another breaker checked out a short wheel base non turbo, looked like it had rolled, very nasty, but lots of trimmy bits,do I remember someone wanting something off a non turbo? also in B.ham.See ya Jeff TT

A mate of mine is after buying a Mitsubishi FTO. He rang up for a quote on insurance and they said all FTO's are imports. Does anyone know if this is true? Cheers. Rob.

Just had a shock down the local tyre fitters. Have noticed for a while that the front left tyre was wearing a bit uneven on the edge.No big deal i thought as plenty of tread in the middle and all other tyres looked fine. and after recently accidently kerbing it a couple of times i thought i would get the tracking checked as a precaution. I took it to Britannia (bit like quick fit) because they gave a free check and balancing. The guy shows me all the tyres. Ahh Front right which looked fine was so badly scored on the inner edge the tyre wall was coming away from the surface (thread showing). Front left was warn on outer and inner edge (Inner edge worse again) middl…

Hi guys I'm in the market for either a 300ZX or Mitsubishi 3000GT but I can't decide which. Is there anyone with experience of both? The criteria I'm most interested in are; long distance comfort and drifting capability (I currently own a 200SX which excels at the later but not the former). Any suggestions or comments would be much appreciated.

Just to let you guys know before Christmas I was supplied a part for my Zed (a uk spec ecu) from a firm called A1 Jap Spares. They seemed to have quite a few parts for the Zed. I was shocked to find they had what I was after as UK Spec ecu's seem hard to come by. (BTW cost was £250.00 ). There number is 0161 6822221 and they were very helpfull. May be worth giving them a call if anyone is trying to track down a part for their car. Laterz Simon H

C'mon guy's!!! (Mark and Lard styleee) NO NEEEEEEED! I would rather pay Jeff's prices than Nissan Main Dealer prices any day and also would would love Andy Duff to help me for free! Both top blokes with top knowledge. i think i have found the problem with my z after it cut out on me again so i removed the alternator and the big thick live power supply wire and charging wire had rusted off the back of it so TopSquads was right i am hoping that that is why the hicas light has been on too because when i put a charged battery on the car the light goes off but when it starts to go flat the hicas light comes on ans the steering goes hard then if you leave it longer the abs light comes on so im hoping when i put the alternator back it works (then i dont get the blame for wiring my new lights up wrong)

Hmmm following the 60k service thread by Tim I took the time to give my opinion and that`s all it is, and thats what the forum is for,and usually works well. However at the end of my post seems I have made the error of placing a link to a page on my web site that if I am not mistaken was requested by you guys on the forum some time ago detailing a few prices on services I do as an enthusiast not a trader.Question do we stop the links and the possible advantages they can have for some or shall we keep them but only on certain days? like when Mommy Duff is washing her hair.
