General Discussions - 300ZX Related

Hi, I was down in Zedworld yesterday to get my Z fixed. Jeff done a brilliant job - top man:) . While workin on me Z, he discovered dat my ECU woz already a modified one with "KS Rom" but boost jets were installed in the wrong place. He installed sum boost jets for me and the car really goes now. Does anybody know what this KS-Rom is and whether iits any good compared to the others or not :confused: Any help appreciated Thanks "AMMAR"

Hello guys, My pc has now got the above virus and I don't know how to get rid of it. Norton finds it when the machine boots and says it will close down the machine. I can boot up in safe mode and then go into Norton and do a scan. It finds it and tells me to use the Norton rescur disks (me being stupid, I never made any before hand and now they would be useless), and it will now close windows. Has anyone any idea how I can sort this withought formatting the drive? What would happen if I made new rescue disks from a pc I just loaded windows on? what info would be lost??? what is a memory virus? Thanks Vijay

Guys and Galls, Looking for opinions on aftermarket alloys ... which ones have you seen on Zeds that look the bizzo? Links to pictures appreciated. I'm just not happy with 16 inches (now, I know what you're thinking!!), but it's all about circumference:D As we all know, deep-down! Looking for some 18s, not sure what to go for. So far, have though about ATS Planets (although I can't find a distributor) and OZ Superleggera (although I'm not wholly convinced) - anyone got 'em? So, opinions sought:confused: CheerZ, John.

I recently removed my inlet manifold to access the passenger side rocker cover. All rebuilt now the oil is still dripping onto the a/cond pump. It appears only to leak when cold making me think its a brittle cam seal, heat softening the seal with the engine running. Anyone ever experienced this b4. Any help appreciated.. Cheers John Crisp

I got a good price on it but I need a few things like brake pads, service etc. Can someon tell me the best place to get parts and servicing in the essex area. Anyone know if you can chenge the rear wheel studs without pressing the hub out of the bearing. Sure it'll be obvious when the disk's off but I can't be arsed looking at the mo.

FFS don't believe it having to post bad shit again. Some twat pranged into my car this morning, totally his fault, I was stationary :mad: My new bumper is pretty ****ed and headlamp, but more importantly now the car is not boosting. I am getting to the second line on the boost guage and my guage is reading -5 (jap measurement kgcm2 or whatever it is). Could the prang have caused this, or have my turbos seized unluckly at the same time. I have had a look under the bumper and it looks like one of the pipes into the intercooler is being squezed, could this be the problem? I have done an ecu check and getting 55. TT Tim has sold me a speed delimiter. Any way I have fitted it at lunch and just had a quick burn. I managed to get past the limit, just!!!!! Anyway it goes past the limit ok in 5th but is not happy when in fourth higher up the rev range. It seems to cut out, well below 190kph. There doesn’t seem to be a pattern either!!!! Is there a problem or have you guys experienced this? Thanks.

Yay! Saw Nico last night at Sainsbo's - it was kinda funny having two Zs crawling round the car park slowly, blipping the throttles... like a sort of mating dance (yeah, and in the SWB one, guess who felt like the female?). Am I right in thinking Sainsbo's is where all the rude boys hang out on Sunday nights? I was walking along Castle Blvd last Sun, & there was much heavy revving coming from the car park, as well as several shiny Pugs & Novas bombing it down the road. I had all the wheels balanced yesterday and went out in it last night to check to see if the vibration had gone and the bloody cruise control didn't work!!!! The light came on when I presed the dash button but not when I pressed the set button on the steering wheel. Please help!!!!! Ivan :mad:

Anybody happen to know what PCD the stud holes are on ? Also if anybody knows what the front and rear wheel offset is,or where i can find the information. The reason I ask is that I have access to a set of 18" OZ super tourismo's from a v6 clio, as they are now partners it may be they use the same stud pattern and PCD. Has any one tryed kumho tyres ive got them one my corsa and seam ok but thats slow and a bag of shat at handling so cant realy tel cos if i go into a corner over 20 mph it just rolls over and dies with the 2 foot suspension travel at the front pritty scint and dont really want to shell out another 240 quid on bridgestones my others woar out in 4k cos of my knackered bushes there on order from nissan at naffin 12 quid each for a poxy bit of rubber wi sum metal round it and want some tyres that are ok for a while any other suggestions i had toyos on before that and they lasted 8k but dont know if that could have also ben down to slight movement in bushes any one know averag…

dyno run today with the car prepped as requested by my tuner(kempower in zolder/belgium) as follows: jwt single POP, mongoose,gassed up with 98 octane fuel. result : from 273 to 335 hp on 14 psi boost. what a failure!!! this means that my otherwise smooth running ,well-behaving, non- smoking- and- free- of -suspicious- engine- behavior- TT had only some 250 hp in stock condition!!! Where did these 30 ponies run-off to ? before you start saying anything: I trust this tuner with my life,he has a solid reputation and he's done another car of mine , a 200sx s14 and it went from 200 to 245 hp...without induction kit or free exhaust, just bone stock!! Noticed tonight that my passenger side dipped beam wasnt working - am I right in thinking its an H3 bulb, and will this be OK on my J-spec? The metal surround that the bulb clips into has been earthed to the bodywork separately?
