Finally got round to fitting new Koni's and Blitz lowering springs. Onlyhad time to do the rear so far tho. One of the old ones was completely knackered as it didn't even come back up after pushed, anyway, the trouble is that the springs are supposed to lower the car about 35mm but instead they seem to have raised it. Have i fiited something wrong or is there something to adjust? Trouble is I can't read Japanese.

Harry had a 20% off day at the weekend so being a tight Scotlsman I got some new 30% brighter bulbs and a new smaller calcium battery cos my big 4 year old Nissan one sounds like its going to give up soon. Will pay me £20 soon too - honest. Anyway Harrys book says H1 for Zs to 94 - Harry's own brand is Osram. Not correct after trying I had to go back again and get the even cheaper H3s which do fit. £7.99 each. Seems brighter although I might have had more carrots recently. But I know when they are on now! Boy but you need long thin double jointed fingers to do it - change the bulbs I mean

has anyone had a 300ZX that burnt from bad fuel injectors? I bought my car brand new in 1988, the was a voluntar recall on the injectors which I had mine replaced only to find out with the same bad injectors, when they did the recall my car had already went up in flame I have tried to contact any and all the Nissan place there is in the world. I was sent paperwork pages and pages of it. One document I had to come up with was the paperwork for the replacement of the injectors, which the dealership could not do so I was told they were not replaced. well a few years later, I have a copy of the paperwork at my home. I think this was a big cover up from my hometown dealer…

I have just had the terrifying experience of my local MOT Station offering to "adjust"(!) my CO2 as it had just failed the MOT for being way to high... The thought of someone not familiar with the ZX tweaking things at random to get the CO down makes me shudder! BUT the question is who can I turn to and whats the best course of action for me to take?! I have an imported 92 Auto which is pretty standard (has a mild aftermarket exhaust), but (and heres the interesting part) the ceramic of the Cats has been removed. Judging by the evidence of dents and scraps I can only presume that they have been smashed and departed the exhaust out the back over time. …

I'm still trying to sort this ground loop - radio/CD has a backgroung noise related to engine speed. I got a few responses a couple of weeks ago, mainly to do with adding an extra earth. Having done this - and checking the existing earth, I'm afraid that the noise is still there. Anyone got any other ideas? There's no black box behind the radio/CD, and the noise has only recently happened. Could it be wiring to the aerial? - noise is always there wether I'm listeming to the radio or CDs... Any thoughts welcomed - might have to ditch the whole thing cos being an na owner, I'm with Nelson re mass. thanks Jack

Has anyone used this product? Can it be used in a Z's gearbox? Does it make any difference or if you use good quality oil and change it regularly,do you need it? Lots of questions I know but I'm getting a pre-winter service done and was wondering if it's worth getting some Slick 50 for the gearbox and maybe the engine. Any thoughts, suggestions or advice would be grateful. Cheers, F.T.

More PC help needed as you chaps were so helpful last time!! One corner of my monitor appears to be green in colour, possibly due to speakers being next to it at some point - is there any way of getting the proper colours back?

Hi guys, I need to replace a few things on my car but as you probably know i live in Bahrain and the guys over here always nedd a "sample" before they can get you a duplicate part. I need to know part numbers and sizes if possible for the following items i think i should change. Alternator Belt AC Belt Power Steering Belt Timing Belt Timing Belt tensioner Exist Bearings x2 ???? Oil Seal x4 Engine Seal x1 Fuel Pump Fuel Filter Anything else you guys think i should replace. I suppose i just really need info on the first 6 items on the list. That list comes from a guy at a garage which i use. But again the guy at the garage needs a sam…

Hi all, was just wondering: seeing as they offer pretty similar performance, and a good ZX can be had for a little over £6k, is the Supra worth another £3k on top of that? Anyone driven both and is able to comment on how they compare? Thanks guys

OK, I'm after someone to repair some minor scratching around the driver's side door handle, where some fool child tried to screwdriver his way in. There's no denting, just a chip down to the metal where the handle surround meets the door, and some light scratching below that (bah, if only I had a digital camera). Who's my best bet? I live in Nottingham, so I was going to try ZCentre, but someone mentioned elsewhere that they weren't impressed with the painting there (maybe that's just on kits, though, and they'd be fine for normal repairs). So there's JeffTT's Zedworld, I guess... or PPS - but what and where is PPS? (sorry, I've tried looking around, but the forum se…

I had to sell since I am moving back to the US. I dropped her off at Zedworld this morning for a final service and warranty. The new owner Jason Underwood will pick her up in a few weeks. Thanks to everyone for all the advice and harrassment over the last few years. Especially to Jeff and Mark for all of their mechanical help. I would highly reccomend anyone to buy a Zed, what other car makes you feel like you are losing a family member when you sell it. I only drove 15K miles in the last three years but they were some of the most fun miles I have ever driven. My last two cars ('96 Alpina 523 and 98' Peugot 406 3.0 Coupe) were much more expensive but no w…

... don't fix it ! Changed my brake fluid at the weekend, old stuff was probably the original and looked most unpleasant. Anyway, bled out the fronts, luverly jubbly no worries, then did the rears. No matter how much fluid I pushed through I got a steady stream of tiny bubbles appearing. Mucked about for a while wondering whether it was something to do with the bleed nipples on the rear calipers, then gave up and decided that all the additional work the master cylinder had just done has worn something out, broken something, dislodged some crap which had damaged something etc and was now drawing in air. So I took it for a drive and it seemed OK. Drove it agai…

I have had 4 Zs and change the oil and every 3000 miles using Mobil 1 Fully synthetic. I have just bought a 3 litre Peugeot 605 coupe (Its not that bad it does have four pot Brembos and I still have a Z) Anyway back to the question. The Peugeot uses synthetic or semi-synthetic oil and the manufacturers recommended service interval is to change it every 20,000 miles. (The oil, not the car) I know that the Z is an older car, but if oil has improved that much, are we wasting money by changing the oil in our Zs so often?

Have de-catted the Z with a full stainless system, have the o2 sensors gone with the old exhaust or are they tucked up further towards the turbo's? Thanx for any help.
