Hi Guys, I am new to this forum and am looking to buy a 300ZX in the very near future. I have never driven one as yet so I am totally lost on what to look out for. What model and what trasmission I should go for. I am living in London and would prefer an Auto because of the terrible traffic jams here. How reliable is the Auto gearbox on these, any recurring faults you guys have come across? Faults in the manual? How many BHP are the TT and the non-TT models? If there is a thread here on that information, please direct me to it. When buying one, what are the must things I should look at? a nice little tutorial anyone??? How can you tell if the car has …

The zed standard is 0.9 bar?!?!?! What is a safe ish pressure to take stock turbos to. And can this be done by cat removal and correct diameter straight through pipes being fitted???

Just remembered. Right after I bought my Z, I bought a UK spec set of rims (wanted the 245`s on rear) The others have been sitting in the garage for ages. Asking price is £100 if anyone wants em. Off an imported car so in very decent nick. You can have wheel number 4 for free. It is split and leaks badly but the rubber is brand new. Anyone interested?

Hey folks! Think this is my first post, so please be kind! I`ve had my z since April this year. Kinda upgraded from the 200sx (which is also a blinder BTW). I have so many things to ask/say but will try to keep it short. Firstly, it is an icredible car. reminds me of driving my old rubber bumper MGB. You gotta respect it lots but fear it just a little. Are the 300zx injectors top feed? Does that mean the fuel in the top or the electrical plug in top?

Hi guys. I´m new on the forum but expect to be a new member soon. I question is related to my next car. I sold my old Nissan 200SX 1990 s13, and try for the last 3 month to find a good 200SX s14, but only saw one. I live in Portugal and here 200SX are much rare than 300ZX. The last week a friend of mine tell me "why you don´t buy a 1991 300ZX TT?", at the moment I think that is a very expensive car for me, but after do some search, I found some 91 and 92 TwinTurbos, for almost the same price of a 200SX and some with same kms. Now my question: What do you think about ZX´s. I now everybody tell his car is the best, but try to be impartial. How about the running cost…

Now however, all it does is set the alarm. Anyone know where to get these bulbs from?...Ive never had the clocks apart but can only assume they are capless type...unless anyone wishes to correct me on that. Is it an easy(ish) job?..anything to watch for like burning my car to the ground? Chris

well i got me mirror from andyz today, thanks btw, the j spec has 5 wires blue purple pink yellow orange and the new uk spec has blue yellow purple is it as simple as wiring up the 3 uk ones to the same colour j spec ones any info appreciated thanks

Ok the time has come when i need to do something about my car situation. Some of you know some git pranged into her the other week and she is looking a mess again. I have problems with the gearbox (manual) which needs a re-build and all the suspension (shocks, springs and bushes) all need replacing. Beside these jobs there is really nothing else to moan about and she sounds as sweet as a nut. When i come out my driveway , i make a sharp left and turn down hill . I live in whats called mongo hill. while im making the turn and mash my breaks at the same time , my front end seems llike its buckling in and my breaks dont hold good. when i straightened up all seems fine.. carnt explain it ,when im driving all seems good , my breaks works fine and my alignment seem ok.. it only happens when i make sharp turns .. ..and i dont feel any knocking in my steering in normal driving.... ... any ideas? i have a 90tt auto jap spec,..

My starter motor has been making some weird noised for the last few months... Sometimes it starts fine, other times it just sort of makes a grinding/crackling noise (not turning). When it does this, you need to keep trying it.. sort of tapping the key on and off... eventually it engages and starts. Now, it's doing it just about all the time. I take it this means my starter motor is gubbed ? not fixable in any way ? if that's the case... 1) where the hell is the thing ? the service manual has a zoomed in line drawing, so feck all use at locating it from that 2) is there a source of OEM ones, or remanufactured ones.. or even anyone with a scrap…

My Blitz springs and Koni adjustables are being fitted in the next day or two. I was going to set them on hard all round as it's a second car and I want it as sporty as I can get. Thing is I've been told that having the rears on hard can cause the springs to stay compressed during hard cornering and lose grip at the back end? Is this right and how have you all set yours up? I'm sure if I put the backs on medium I'll only end up wanting to try it on hard settings anyway and it's not easy to change. Chris.

Looks like i'll be getting the '90 z n/a. The seller went down to $7000 without a hitch (from 7900). I'm yet to test drive the car, and i'm gonna take it by a dealer for a good checkout, and the car wash, for a leak test. Tommorow I test drive. If anything's wrong i'm walking away, fast...just need to sell my grand am if everything looks spiffy. ast - excited

My 300 now has a mis-fire. It is only really apparent at tickover and lower revs, I have noticed that when the 2 connectors on the thingymaboppers on the front casing (PTU 's i think but am not sure) are moved around the engine note changes but the mis is still there. The plugs are new 5000 miles ago , there is no smoke even when doing 35-40 mph , i dont go any faster as i still have an oil leak to fix. Any ideas guys , i think its electric but i dont have a ,manual yet. Cheers John Crisp

was poking around the map holder rear pockets things on me new z, and i find one of those pens theat when u press the top in a didffernt message appears in the slot, its all in japanese btw, what other japanese good have people found in their imports

Not on my Z, but a friends PUNTO I was looking at for her. Pulling to one side under braking. When changing pads, calliper piston v. hard to push back. Thought calliper siezed, so changed it - slightly better, but old caliper wasn't as stiff when off car. Seal was all bust though, so would have needed doing anyway. Noticed while bleeding that pedal v. stiff to operate. Seems likely to be either a blocked hose or a siezed master cyl. but never heard of either of these things happening. Anyone got any ideas.
