  1. A few years back I posted about creating a convoy for my father in law, with a great response. My father in law passed away before we could do it. Eventually the car was sold, and I just wondered if anyone on here had it? It would be good to see some pics of it now. No worries if not. Cheers ash

hi guys, had the nose cone off the zed yesterday to clean the air filter, and I noticed the oil cooler lines are as hard as a rock, I'm guessing they are probably the originals so it's going to be time to change them soon, having a look around I can either replace with genuine rubber hoses or flurolined silicone, but mainly from the usa. does it really need the moulded hoses on there or can I just buy straight (flouro lined) silicone pipe and replace with that?

  3. Scrabbling around under the car looking for a dropped washer, I noticed this. Looks like a wire and a tube in a common sleeve, with the tube coming to an abrupt end. Can anyone tell me what this is, and whether it’s meant to be like that? I can’t get to the other end without getting the car up on stands, and that needs to wait for drier weather, assuming we’re getting a summer this year. Thanks

  4. Yet another thread of mine looking for a near impossible component, yes lol. If anyone happened to receive their 98/99/00 Fairlady with the OE battery from the Nissan assembly line in it still, and you were smart enough to hang onto it even tho it's a dead brick, I would like to buy it. Please reach out. I plan on gutting the internals and installing modern lithium guts. This way I have the original appearance for car shows. Cheers, Alex

Hi all, I'm new in here and only to help my wife's godfather. He has a 1994 300zx twin turbo targa top in red for spares or repairs. The engine starts and runs fine everytime but it hasn't moved for the best part of 4 years. Due to health conditions he hasn't been able to use it, and was planning on restoring it. The whole car will need restoring but he has no idea of how much it would be worth Sonu thought I would ask on here. Any honest opinions would be greatly appreciated. Pictures will be uploaded but awaiting them being sent. Many thanks.

Does anyone know what the OE tire from Nissan was on the 98+ Fairlady Z in Japan? I would presume it was the same tire for all 4 models, but I am asking for a Version R if it was different. I'm wondering the make/model of the tires was so I can research what year they may have gone out of production. Maybe they are still in production, who knows. but I'd like a zero mile set. I have my BBS wheels off getting restored by BBS and I'd like to track down the correct tires. Don't plan to drive on them, just put them on for shows. Cheers, Alex

  11. Started by Black-zed,

hi guys so I'm looking at improving the sound quality of the stereo in the zed, I don't want a big boot build but something a lot more subtle just to give me a bit of punch, so I'm looking at under seat subs, anybody fitted them? if so what are they like, in particular I'm looking at the pioneer units.

One of the seven factory supported Z32 race cars constructed by Clayton Cunningham Racing for IMSA GTO competition in the US. This car is chassis number 004 and was raced extensively by Steve Millen during '90/'91. The auction description, photos and the "Bid and Comment" thread has lots of information about the car. A rare chance for someone to own a lovely piece of Nissan motorsports history. How high will she go? https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1990-nissan-300zx-twin-turbo-56/

  13. Can anyone help me out in locating a set of the correct 16x7.5" BBS OEM wheels offered on the 1998/99/00 JDM models? I need the centre caps too. The wheels are P/N 40300-53P25 and the centre caps are 40342-53P10. I reached out to 3 of the parts suppliers in Japan and they just give me the canned excuse of discontinued. I don't think they are taking the time to check the inventory of all the dealerships to find one that has a set left in stock. I don't care much about condition long as they are not out of round, I can always have BBS refinish them. NOS would of course be ideal tho. Any help is appreciated! Thanks!

Greetings so I’m having a bit of a issue I’ve been having code 14 for a while. I’ve changed out speed sensor for a new one and replaced the dash with one I found in the yard. Im still getting code 14. I’ve checked fuses and connectors and found these two funky connectors on right side. The cruise control lights up on dash however my overdrive doesn’t seems to work or show on dash. Any points in the right direction for a greatly appreciated.

  16. doing an engine replacement on a friends car. he bought a engine from japan and i noticed a few differences right off the back. the main one being the oil pan. the hump is on the front of the oil pan on the Japanese engine and on the back on the one hes got. his engine also has the vtc solenoids in the back of the heads, the other one doesnt. oil filter housing is different, throttle position sensor also looks different. some of the coolant passages in the back of the engine also. my question is, is it even a thing where you can swap a Japanese engine into a US 300zx? how can i know for sure he got the right engine? is there an engine code somewhere on the block? thanks i…

  18. Hi everyone, It's been a long time since I've been on the scene, or logged in to this forum. I was an active member from about 2004 - 2006 and in early 2005 bought myself a black (fastest colour, obviously) LWB 300ZX TT manual. Loved that car and for the first 18 months all was well. I see the odd name on here I still recognise - sometime during that period I met Gaz 300 and his partner (think he was driving a SWB NA back then) and we had a pint. At some point in that period I also bought a grounding kit but for reasons I no longer remember never quite got around to fitting it to the car. In fact I've never even taken it out of the bag. Anyway, I bought a…

  19. Started by CrashCourse,

Following on from my previous post about this new problem with my Zed. My Zed engine stops after driving for about a mile, it restarts and runs for about another mile and then does it again. I had thought that the old Meta alarm/immobiliser was at fault (it had been giving problems),so I bought and installed(eventually) a plug & play replacement (HPA EVO) alarm/immobiliser..... No change, the engine stops after about a mile of driving, no warning, no stuttering, just engine stop and all lights on dash. Shift into Park position (auto) and it starts right away, no hesitation - a mile down the road it does it again. ECU Talk throws up error 34, …

  20. Started by Scarecrow,

I’ve got the later, manual air distribution controls, which now seem to be stuck on dash only. Ever since I had the car all positions have worked except full demist, which just clicked so I guess a rod is jammed or broken. But now I get no noise from the dash at all when I turn it. As I had to take the pod off yesterday to replace a warning lamp bulb in the dash (Major PITA!) I suspect I’ve disturbed something in the switch or wiring (although to be honest I have no idea when I last moved the switch off demist/foot wells so it could have been toast for a while. Does anybody have a pin out diagram for the HVAC connector on the back of the pod so I can test it bef…

  21. I'm considering looking for a 1999 Fairlady Z TT with a manual. My question, for this year, which version is considered the most desirability/valuable/collectable? For example, I like the red stitching, carbon, and Recaro seats of the Version R.... but I like the automatic climate control, S-HICAS, and cruise control of the Version S. I can't seem to find any Version S cars optioned with the red stitching, carbon, and Recaro seats. So either they are rare as hens teeth, of those 3 options were Version R only? Anyway, far the Z community goes, which of the 2 versions will hold/increase it's value the best over time? Thanks!!!

  22. Started by anguilla1980,

Would anyone happen to know of resource that would say how many 1999 Version R 2by2 Twin Turbos were made? An option break down would be even better but I understand if those numbers aren't available. I just need to know how many 1999 2by2 TTs were made. Thanks so much!!!!

Does anybody on here have direct experience of fitting a Line Lock to their 300 ? If so, can you guide as to how they are plumbed in electrically and hydraulically, whether you disabled the ABS, or if not, is the only negative impact that you get a warning light on the dashboard whilst using the lock ? Thanks

  24. Started by Black-zed,

just a little advice please guys, got a misfire on cylinder one which I've confirmed is no spark. I have 12v and earth from the coil pack connector. I've continuity tested the wiring, pin 1 on the output side of the PTU to coil pack one connector all fine checked pin 1 on the Ecu to pin 1 on the input side of the PTU and nothing so it looks like a broken wire, looking at the wiring diagrams I take it the wire is a constant run from Ecu to PTU and no connectors anywhere in between? on another note it maybe time to look at replacing the engine bay loom sooner rather than later, looking online it looks like wiring specialities seem to be the only place li…

  25. Started by Black-zed,

hi guys got a strange one, went to start the car today and it took a couple of turns to start, which is unusual, however it did start but I noticed I had a misfire on cylinder 1, so while the car was running I checked the injector was working as it should (they were new last year so should have been ok) so I switched it off after around 5 mins. so I checked the coil pack/plug on cylinder one, went to start the car and nothing, I'm suspecting possibly a broken wire somewhere but not 100% sure. at one point I had the ignition on, obviously not running and it sounded like a vac leak but obviously want that, after cycling the ignition it never did it again so far …
