General Discussions - 300ZX Related

before i begin , i know this is a can of worms, but dont want to go into debate about why its best please just put up which oil you use and viscosity , also if you used old brand and changed, and changed to which brand now, ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, just want to see if a few keep coming up so i no which is best to go for, want to get good oil , bought some semi synthetic oil today 10/40 ,, not sure its best to use, ???dont want to change oil untill i no which best to use, mine is auto 91 uk spec twin turbo,, 820000 miles on clock , ryan recomends 10/50 ,, what you use???

Anyone got any links on how to install new front speakers. Just bought a set of components to replace the standard ones. Does the whole door panel need to be removed or is there an easier way?

Hi my 300zx tt has been stood for about 2years now i hav started it but turbo nedle is not moveing :cry: dos that mean that turbos are jamed our some thin? can this happin or could it just be the nedle, Is there anyway i can check that turbo are working (need to sort this out coz summer is coming :hyper: ) would b greatfull for any help :nana2:

Did this a few years ago but due to all the rides section being updated it has been lost,also the original picture was lost when my pc at the time went down. I have since taken current pictures of my z but need to attach as a sig!!!! Cheers Dave

:dance: Just got the car back from being de-catted, :shock: 0-100 comes up so quickly now!! Although a tiny bit gutted cos exhaust note hasn't really changed, no louder :cry: I'm probably answering my own question now but is the only way to make it sound sportier to fit the Mong oose system or similar?? Having had a GTi-R I do miss the manic exhaust note on full throttle, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated from such a learned group of enthusiasts (arse lick over) :p :p Thanks, Chris

i will be getting my Z back on the road soon ready for KOE and when it goes in the garage for tidying and setting up it would be great at the same time to get Conzult run on my car to make sure it's running good and fix any problems if there are any. Morning Guys Can anyone help with some info, I could do with some advice on fitting a WW rear bumper, on first inspection the Bumper or skirt to be precise fits along the recessed line on the original bumper, but I am also fitting with a wide arch kit, so of course it has to be flared,. Has anyone got any images on where the bumper is modified to widen it, and does the original bumper have to be cut along the mid point to fit the skirt etc? Of course if it ends up being a very difficult job I'll have to leave it to the body shop, just trying to save some labour costs. Any help appreciated. Cheers Dave

Wednesday night I pulled up to the traffic lights on the main crossroads of the Stratford Road/Haslucks Green Road and saw a grey Zed stopped at the traffic lights, Stratford Road side with a Motorcycle cop sat on his bike next to the passenger side, leaning in through the window! Hope whoever it was their tax was up to date as that's what they had been stopping cars for all evening! Anyone on here?

Installed Nissan Datascan ECU Diagnostics software on the in-car computer, which is a kind of mini more basic version of conzult and have taken some screenshots. One is at Idle, the other is at 2000rpm on very light throttle. Can anybody who knows their stuff, just take a look at the readouts and tell me if there if everything looks about right. I noticed a couple of things : 1. Idle is too high, but TPS volts is correct. 2. LH O2 Sensor is a bit more lazy than the RH one. It does'nt move at idle, and the other one flickers a little at idle. Hi to all, i have heard removing the hicas sysytem from my tt ukz is a worthwhile thing to do. Do i need one of those hicas elimanator bars on the traders sites and is there a general benifit to it other than having probs!! thanx Mark

depending on you guys for some advice as usual i hve just received a spoiler and side skirts which i bought from the zcentre, i have left them into a body shop but he is not to sure on the best way to fit them he does not want to put holes in the car as he feels this could lead to corrosion problems in the future and he is not sure that bonding is enough he is enquiring somewhere about clips? any advice would be appreciated

I have far too many gadgets with cigerette lighter plugs on the end so want to hard wire a few. Now if i cut the plug off I have 1 red and 1 white wire, am i right in guessing this is pos and earth? Currently trying to wire in the following Snooper S6-R Radar Detector DVD Monitor G-Tech Pro Meter

The HICAS light on the dash for some reason has com up and wont turn off. I turn on the car and drive it for a bit and it doesnt come on but after a few minutes of driving it turns on and doesnt ruen back off. Could some please explain to me what it could be. Will i need a new Hicas unit? Also another problem is my power steering at first it works perfictly but then stops workin and and then starts again whiles the car is being driven i reckon it kinda dangerous as when turning you can never tell if it is going to be working or not so would like to get it fixed asap. What plugs would you reccomend for a Twin Turbo running 0.85 Bar Boost, Decat, AIV's Removed, Central 20 ECU (Aggresive), Induction etc? Sure the ones in my car are wrong, need to take the front 2 out and take pics so u guys can give me an idea if there mucking up my car (Suggested by Dave C) Im sure they are NGK 7 Somethings at the moment.

My Dash is starting to curl on the heater vents under front windscreen. I realise this is a common problem with the Z and there are tech guides to help or fix the problem. But Neperformance i think it was, used to sell carbon fibre vents which were slighlty larger and just covered the edge of the dash to hold it back down, as he isn't a trader anymore does anyone know where i could get these from???

I need some recommendations for a Z Specialist for servicing / repairs in the The New Forest area of Hampshire. I have relocated and I don't know anyone down here with a Z. Thanks.
