To any of you out there who have experience of engine-outs. Im about to have my engine swapped and at the same time im going to replace nearly all of the under bonnet hoses, except for hard pipes, rad hoses and fuel lines (I'll be going to Smithy for them). Does anyone know the diameter of all those myraid of hoses that seem to surround my engine (EGR, vac hoses etc.)? They all look pretty close to 10mm and seem similar in size, but I need to know exactly so I can buy a length of each size and give them to the engine swap people. Btw. I know I'm going to need high temp/vacuum capable stuff.

How much will i be roughly looking at for a full respray for my Zed, It's Black and i want it the same colour just needs tarting up. I've been quoted around £500 it's meant to be trade price as it's through a mate is that good or not? I've seen some of his work on another car and looked really good, but then that wasn't a metallic colour so may of been a easier colour to spray.

Driving round sunny manchester today and the intermittent on my wipers stopped working, normal, and fast work fine, the strange thing is when i switch the wipers on (intermittant) they sweep the window once, when i switch em off they sweep once. also they dont work at all with screen wash, whereas before they used to sweep 3 times, also managed to get them to stop halfway through a sweep at some point but cant remember how i managed it! fuse or loose connection doesnt add up cos surely this would stop em working completely! Although what do i know?? I could write all i know about electrics on the back of a postage stamp and still have room for all i know about de catting …

Just got back from a drive parked up, then 5 mins later noticed water dripping out of my car. looks like its comming from somewhere between the air-con and normal rad. Would i be right in assuming its the Rad gone (again)? Would water come out of the Air con Rad if it had gone? Also noticed a lot of oil over pipes just under the alternator i think, looks like the pipe the come off the power steering pot, so i guess thats 2 more problems to add to my friggin car.

Ok heres the deal. I basically stuck a new battery in my Z, back-to-front :( Fried the abs, alternator and a few fuses! Had an auto electrician fix it all and now here is my dilemma. When the car idles, sounds like a low rumble up front :headvswal :headvswal somewhere, almost a vibration. Wasn't there before the battery incident. It goes away as soon as you step on the gas a little, but returns at idle. Electrican seems to think it might be to do with the exhaust flow? sounds like crap to me, any ideas guys? seems strange that it goes away with a little gas. Don't think it's doing any damage, (hopefully not), but is annoying.

Howdy, started replacing water pump today, and preparing for underdrive pulley from smithy :hyper: , but only got as far as the accesory belts! anyone got any suggestions for moving the top left pulley, (think its power steering pump)so loosening the front belt, and undoing the bolt holding the main pulley on (27mm)! :headvswal been following the ttzd timing belt tutorial and its gone really well up till then! :headvswal rarrgh! Ta!
