Hi all, having a bit of a problem, and thought someone might be able to shed some light on the situation :) My Zed won't go over 140. I've tried it with OD on and off! Took it to my Local Zed place (really helpful btw - Samurai Performance) and they kindly put the Conzult on it, did all the tests, came up Code 55. No history of errors either. He did a cylinder test and all that, things that I had no idea what it meant lol. All that happens is that it gets to 140 bloody fast, then hits the rev limiter, the dump valves make a sound like a train lol as it hits the limiter. It feels like it needs another gear. Weird! It's not like I do over 140 all the ti…

Done the PCV and hose swap last week along with a few other non engine related jobs. Car seems to run really well and smooth, better in fact, however the revs have now jumped up when cold to just under 2000 revs and when warm to just over 1000 revs, so do i just alter the adjustment screw by passenger TB when engine is warm and will this dramtically drop the revs for me when cold.? ideas as always most welcome fellas. cheers smithy

Hi just wondering if somone could put some light on a problem i have with my passenger electric seat. The seat goes backward and forward fine. The problem is with the incline and the decline. I have just took the seat out with electrics connected and took off the switch cover. I then checked it with my fluke and have power going through when the switch is operated. So then i disconnected the plug halfway across the bottom to check for power and it was there. So where is the fookin motor?? Is it in the seat itself cus thats where the wires go?! Is it a pain in the arse :headvswal :headvswal cheers :D

HI just got my windows tinted . But now i'm thinking of ripping it off even though it cost me 200 euro. Its red (please don't make this a colour issue :rolleyes: ), and i thought the red/(almost black) thing would complement the car................but i'm not too sure. Havn't had time for pics yet, but i've done the rear , and all the side window's. What's worrying me is that driving through town today i was getting thumbs up from schoolkids!!!! i'm thinking they're used to the boy racer image and not actually doing it cos it's a Z :xxx: Maybe if i just removed it from the two front window's??

Could somebody please tell me what the best chip I should use is? I had a Superchip but that was awful so now im running a de-limited standard chip. I have stock injectors,tubs etc and am looking to run a bar of boost. What chip should I use and does anyone have one they want to get rid of? Many thanks BensJammin

when I start my z first thing in the morning there is a grating type noise from under the bonnet, this increases and decreases when you turn the wheel, which incedentaly seems 'jerky', it runs like this for about a minute then is fine for the rest of the day, any ideas anyone? :confused:

Evening everyone Noticed that my clutch is starting to slip in 4th and 5th and I'm after info on what is he best, sensibly priced replacement and who can do it up here in the frozen North. (Willing to travel @100 miles from Ripon to get a decent job done) The car is pretty standard power output wise and is likely to remain so. I have just replaced the silicoln hose's around the car. Took ohh teh boost hose and refitted a nice blue one, putting the jets back in. Took the car out for a run, and looked to see if everything was working properly. Dint notice any difference one way or the other, but i did notice that the boost guage only just made it up to 7. Shouldnt this be going off the scale iff boost jets are fitted? Or is it more likely to be a naff guage reading?

I've sourced a nice set of 19" alloys: 8.5" front, 9.5" rear. I know the correct offset for the Z32 is +30 front and +35 rear, however these are +35 all round. Bearing in mind I have a camber correction kit ready to put on, that they would need to clear the GTR Calipers and that I will probably have to use spacers anyway, front and back, due to the wide arches going on, my question is: will they cause any problems? Sorry for my ignorance in this area :o Leigh.

Hi, i was just wondering if any other turbos would fit on my z31 engine. I cant find one anywhere! Would a turbo from the z32 work? Or from any other nissan? Thanx

Only failed on 2 things- windscreen wiper (can't believe I didn't check them) and steering rack :x: . The wiper I can handle, the rack is going to be a bit more interesting. It seems it's the mounting, rather than the rack mechanism. Mr. MOT Tester just kind of waggled his hands, shook his head and shrugged his shoulders when trying to describe it! Is this a common problem? I see there are 2 mounting brackets which hold the rack in place- my guess is that one (not both!) has failed, either the bracket itself or the bush ("rack mounting insulator") in the bracket. I'll get under the car this weekend to have a proper look; if anyone local is twiddling th…

When replacing the prop center bearing do you need a press or a special puller to remove it, or can you get it off with a tapping stick.... hope to be doing this on sunday, so if anyone wants to help, i've plenty of liquid refreshments.

Can anybody advise of the worth of a 1990 Jap spec Zed, loads of history over the past 4/5 years. Its an auto, about 75k miles, MoT january, tax July. The problem is.. the bikes get all the use at this time of year, and I can't justify an extra car! Cheers ED

I could do with a bit of advice guys. I'm not fully up on these, although I understand what they do, does anyone know what the result would be if they didn't work properly, are we looking at a huge loss of power? I think Duffy told me they only operate at higher revs, so does this mean you would loose top end power. I don't think the ECU detects them, so how could you check they are working properly. Any info much appreciated.
