when I start my z first thing in the morning there is a grating type noise from under the bonnet, this increases and decreases when you turn the wheel, which incedentaly seems 'jerky', it runs like this for about a minute then is fine for the rest of the day, any ideas anyone?

(Willing to travel @100 miles from Ripon to get a decent job done) The car is pretty standard power output wise and is likely to remain so. All suggestions and recommendations gratefully accepted............... Cheers everyone Phil PS Beer tokens and a flight in the Apache Simulator available for anyone who can do this for me ;)

I have just replaced the silicoln hose's around the car. Took ohh teh boost hose and refitted a nice blue one, putting the jets back in. Took the car out for a run, and looked to see if everything was working properly. Dint notice any difference one way or the other, but i did notice that the boost guage only just made it up to 7. Shouldnt this be going off the scale iff boost jets are fitted? Or is it more likely to be a naff guage reading?

I've sourced a nice set of 19" alloys: 8.5" front, 9.5" rear. I know the correct offset for the Z32 is +30 front and +35 rear, however these are +35 all round. Bearing in mind I have a camber correction kit ready to put on, that they would need to clear the GTR Calipers and that I will probably have to use spacers anyway, front and back, due to the wide arches going on, my question is: will they cause any problems? Sorry for my ignorance in this area :o Leigh.

Only failed on 2 things- windscreen wiper (can't believe I didn't check them) and steering rack :x: . The wiper I can handle, the rack is going to be a bit more interesting. It seems it's the mounting, rather than the rack mechanism. Mr. MOT Tester just kind of waggled his hands, shook his head and shrugged his shoulders when trying to describe it! Is this a common problem? I see there are 2 mounting brackets which hold the rack in place- my guess is that one (not both!) has failed, either the bracket itself or the bush ("rack mounting insulator") in the bracket. I'll get under the car this weekend to have a proper look; if anyone local is twiddling th…

I could do with a bit of advice guys. I'm not fully up on these, although I understand what they do, does anyone know what the result would be if they didn't work properly, are we looking at a huge loss of power? I think Duffy told me they only operate at higher revs, so does this mean you would loose top end power. I don't think the ECU detects them, so how could you check they are working properly. Any info much appreciated.

Anyone else finding problems with boost in the warmer weather? Sometimes I'm getting 9psi sometimes around 6-7psi... It seems to bog down a bit on 20 -30 mph roll ons, ie. push it from this point and it wants to go but feels "restricted" for want of a better word. Then next time it'll fly! This is in the same spell of driving... Just wondered if anyone else had the same thing... Also, in an Auto, what settings do you have the box on for a sort of dual carraigeway enviroment? O/D on or off? I tend to leave the power button alone, as the power light comes on anyway if you put your foot down...

I asks my local Nissan Dealer for a price for a New PTU unit. The car is a series IV (I'm told) November 1994. So I want the series II PTU. His reply was is that the Mitsubitshi or the Hitatchi? B*llockst if I know. Anyone out there who can help. Maybe a part No for the series II as I'm sure he's got the part numbers wrong. Though we agreed with each other as to what part it was on their Feesh.

For no reason my wipers start at normal speed constant even when in the off position and wont stop. If I move the dial to intermittant they still stay on at normal constant speed. Then they will stop as sudden as they started and work normally again. Ive changed the relay but that made no difference. Anyone else had this problem?
