Hi all, I'm debating having the windows tinted. How easy is it to do it yourself? I'm thinking of dark smoke on the rear window & then light smoke on the side. I found a company that do kits for a decent price so just wondered how hard it would be.. Clicky J

Hi guys, Oil pressure seems a little low when engine is warm, going by the gauge. Believe these gauges are not the most reliable tho ?? Any way I can test the pressure ?? Inline gauge ? If so, wheres the best place to put it ?? Can I test the oil pressure sender ??? Again, if so, how ?? Gonna do an oil and filter change tomorrow. Lastly, on a score of 1 to 10, how hard is the oil pump to change ?? Probably an 11 !! ;) Cheers , Alan..............

I was following my mate the other day in his 300zx N/A and my window was down and I noticed quite a rich petrol smell in his exhaust fumes?? He has de catted it and also has an up rated air filter. Can anybody suggest why this might be?? I was not able to help him. Cheers. Also when he put his foot down I noticed his exhaust smoked.

As the thread suggest I am getting smoke (I beleive its either silver or white) when I come off throttle when on full boost. The car was purchased from 300zx.co.uk member "3horses" the performance upgrades as far as I know are as follows: - powerflow exhaust, de cat, twin blitz induction kits, manual boost control valve is fitted I beleive its running 0.8 bar but do not have an aftermarket guage to verify this. It has had a recent oil and filter change with the chosen oil spec being 20w / 50 semi synthetic. Also within the last 2 months a new rear main crank seal has been fitted, as have new PCV valves and both rubber pipes. An aftermarket oil pressure guage is fitted and…

I cant find the turbo timer on my Z !! Jap spec TT 1992 Do they have a standard unit ? On occassions the engine has run on with key removed for 1-2 minutes but in the last couple of months its not happened at all ? Ive looked everywhere in the Dash footwells area. Under the bonnet im fooked if i can find it ?? Any ideas please . :headvswal

Guys May sound daft but I had one fitted and want it set up for best performance. At the minute I get spikes etc. Is the best way to get it on a dyno and set up that way?

Gents, I am off to see a Black Z reg G356 PWT this afternoon. It is modded quite heavily and so I wondered if any of you knew of the car and could give me some of its history?

It's coming close to ordering my new turbos! JWT 700bb or Greddy TD05's Jim Wolf are ball bearing Greddy's i don't think are so wont they spool up faster also don't the JWT produce more hp? Also do you have to buy Wastegates for the 700bb's??? The Greddy kit comes all in so if i was to choose the JWT's i would also get Speaciality Z manifolds and downpipes, possibly wastegates if needed. What do you think the best option is???

Coming to swap my front tyres and had some great advice of you guys on where and what to buy, but im confused on sizes.. the wheels look the same front and rear, but on the front its running 225/45/r18 and the rear 265/35/r18... ive been told 235 might be better on the front but what do people think? Confused on if i should run 265/35 on front as well or 235/35? or even 235/40 help needed please!!

where you have you melt and cut out the orange lens in the indicator unit. Cant believe how much difference it makes to the overall look of the front of the car. Looks Awesome. well well it never rains but it pours LOL!! :mac1: so after shelling out 5k for a new engine and tubs the car is awsome, so i fitted a hks alc everything was fine at lower speeds but trying it out at over 100mph funny things happend :o floored it at over 100mph and all that happend was the revs went sky high but no more speeds!!! do autoboxes slip???? so on the way home i thought right then lets try again this time got up to 125mph and was bouncing off the red line waiting to change up nope nothing shit :headvswal so off came the alc tried again this evening 125mph again no slip but again bouncing off the redline and on the rev limiter not good f…

Iv got a 1992 300zx twin turbo lwb, the other morning i went to start my car, no problem there. I got to the end of my road, indicated to go left and the hazards appeared on the display, so tryed indicating right? same again. i checked the relay and thats clicking away fine,(could it be faulty?) checked the fuses in the kick well, there ok. If anyone has any ideas on what to check next then please help, can't drive my car until the problem is rectified and my local car electrics store want 48 pound plus vat per hour!!! and think they could solve the problem after having it in after 2? I'm going to remove the original rear spoiler on my ZX and put on a stillen 1 spoiler on. I know there is going to be some holes on the trunk from removing it. But I don't know if I need a tailgate skin or something ???

Hi, zed been off road for few months so i normally start it couple times a week just so things are ok, there was nothing wrong with it smooth/ steady idle etc two days ago car was running for approx 15 mins when it started hesitating,misfire and cut off so i left it checked coilpack,ptu connections all seemed fine i have cleaned all connections also, and i deffo know ptu is ok after a while tryed again car has no problem turning over but wont fire up, finally did but it was missfire,hesitating badly and cut off again,then today it started no problem and then same thing happened, i did clean my Throttle Bodies week ago could this be related, ecu has code 55, all help/advi…

Firstly thanks for the tips about fitting speakers. I now have some decent Alpine speakers in the rear. One speaker i had to take apart with tin snips and pliers but it came out in the end. The shit speakers car manufacturers used to and still do put in nice cars is shite. I will take off the door trims on the weekend to put some 6" speakers in. Reet ebay HID kits from OZ. The headlamps in the ZX - the big rectangular headlamps inside the pods do bugger all but the circular lights work - is this normal? I have taken the circular plastic cover on the rear of the circular lamps but i cant get the bulb to pop out of the rubber. From what i have read i think i d…

Hi chaps I am looking to buy a 300zx, currently have a 100NX and looking to upgread, have been a member of the 100nx forum for a long time so understand the value of this type of thing. I am after a UK spec, standard unmodded, manual, as new as posible, as low milage as posible. My 300zx TT auto has sprung a leak in the main rad :headvswal . I dont want to fix it. Am looking for a good replacement that will drop str8 in, what do you think is best rad to fit. Bearing in mind the car is being modded so will be running a tad hotter. Also should I install a new oil cooler 4 auto box & reg engine oil. Should I also remove the ancillary rad too? Cheers Marc

I'm Want some vented front wings for my Z?? Are there any i should stay away from?? (bad quality,hard to fit etc) I dont want to loose the gaps between bonnet - wing, wing -door, wing- bumper??? Anyone know which ones are best??? :confused:

Is there a knack to removing the pointers from the fuel, temp, tacho and speedo gauges??? Or is it a case of gentle persuasion???? Cheers Phil

I want to use Redline MT90 as replacement oil in my 97 NA manual gearbox. They tell me it's good stuff. I believe it's sold in quarts, so, 2 questions, how many quarts do I need, and where's the cheapest place to buy it? ...third question, can I use it as replacement oil in the diff as well, and if so, 4th questions, how much does it take.
